Pros +
- The location of La Regalido is excellent as it is central to the pretty and bustling village of Fontvieille. We appreciated being able to stroll to cafés and restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the gardens and pool, which was delightful. Breakfast in the garden each morning was lovely, as was dinner. The food was good and staff were polite.
- Quirky beautiful old converted mill full of nooks and crannies. Excellent staff from start to finish, special shout out to Nicholas who went out of his way to make us welcome.
- Gorgeous property, renovated and up-to-date in the necessary ways and areas while retaining the unique qualities of centuries-old buildings.Lovely rooms, including the restaurant - the food was spectacular - clustered around a sweet pool, which was very social and relaxing.I had delays with my incoming flight and they were very responsive, and even upgraded me at no cost to a bigger room. Similarly when I decided to stay an extra day, they were flexible - even though it was during the high season and the opening week of the Arles photography festival.
Cons -
- We felt that although the hotel is styled well that there were issues with poor maintenance. Our room was spacious and nicely dressed but there were several small but annoying issues that were due to poor maintenance. The door to the bathroom did not fit properly and stuck if it was shut. Presumably the cleaners or housekeeper always leave it wide open after cleaning so they probably do not know this. Likewise a handle on a set of drawers came off in our hands on the first day but my husband was able to screw it back on with his pen knife. If fixtures were being checked regularly that would not happen. Most seriously, I was showering one afternoon after a swim and a heavy glass shelf in the shower fell and smashed on the floor of the shower covering my feet in broken glass. I was very shaken up by this although fortunately not cut, and I went to reception to report this. The young lady at the desk was polite and came and cleared it up and was efficient. To our surprise no-one followed up on this incident with an apology or to ask if I was alright after what was an alarming experience which ought not to have happened. The shelf ought to have been so well secured on the wall that it could not possibly fall off. The staff were polite but rather distant we felt. We stayed for seven nights and until the end of our stay staff had to ask who we were and which room we were in. We felt there could have been more interest shown in guests, perhaps a little more warmth and friendliness from them.
- Nothing, except the tight turn when driving out of the car park, fortunately I had my wife with me who was more than generous with her driving advice!
- The town is adorable and very well located to explore the whole area, but I misjudged the distance to Arles for the festival, and the cabs/ubers ended up being more expensive than I had anticipated. Next time, I will rent a car.

Amazing location with nice exteriors. Very good breakfast with local and fresh products.Good size rooms.
A top mattress would have been great as the initial one was not that comfortable (bedroom Olivier).
GORGEOUS room (we upgraded to a suite), beautiful surroundings, small but tasteful place, amazing food at the restaurant, cute little walkable village and just outside you see the landscapes that Van Gogh painted, almost exactly as they were. Great hub for seeing the rest of Provence -- we took day trips to Arles (our favorite), Pont du Gare, St. Remy, les Baux de Provence. The staff was absolutely lovely.
Our room was divine but the place was small, which meant only a few people could be at the pool (which is much smaller than it appears in pictures) without feeling crowded. Great value by American standards but comparably expensive, especially when taking into account other places nearby that we did not know about when we booked it. Still, so pretty and delicious food and exceptionally nice staff made it worth it.
The atmosphère and the team service
Need to improve some details like the Jacuzzi room paint and mold
Quiet, close to restaurants Nicely decorated
The parking was not close to the hotel entry, not really secured and was very expensive for a period outside of the touristic period
Large rooms and comfortable beds. Location of hotel was great to explore region. Free parking close by.
Our room was quite dark and damp. A dehumidifier and bedside reading lamps would help.
The older areas are Not 4 stars.
Decor and carpets felt very tired.Shower leaked all over the floor, our door lock broke such that they had to change the locks. The roof terrace was peeling and dirty, dead plants. The room Had a very Unkept feel and a bizarre extra shower through another door to the roof terrace. It just needs a bit of tlc and it could be lovely. Electrics could do with an upgrade as not enough plugs in the room and switches look like they’re from the 1950s which was disconcerting.

Everything was perfect, from the comfort to the quality of breakfast and service. The person at the reception who was also serving breakfast was absolutely amazing!Extremely nice, helpful and professional ?
The whole experience was outstanding. Four nights at Le Regalido was perfect for exploring the region and returning to the comfort and hospitality of the wonderful team that work there. The room and facility were excellent. The region and town are fantastic. We went to locations we had never heard of through connecting with staff and locals.

The location of the appartment was a 10-min walk to the centre. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and kind. A big thanks to Naima and Lucy. We got a free upgrade due to low season, room was spacious and clean. Bedding was very comfortable.
The hairdryer and lack of kettle. but thats all.
The room we stayed in was decent in terms of bedding, cleanliness, and quietness.
The place is rather old and in need of a serious refresh. It was probably designed and built in the 90s, and it feels outdated, from the choice of furniture to the overall decor, which hasn't been well maintained. The building itself is quite impractical, with stairs, corridors, and mid-floors that make it difficult to navigate. The room we stayed in was decent in terms of bedding, cleanliness, and quietness. However, the bathroom and toilets were very basic and old-fashioned. We had difficulty using the switches, which seems to be due to the outdated and chaotic electrical system.Upon arrival, we were offered a larger room at a higher price, which we regret taking. In hindsight, what we ended up paying is not proportional to the services provided. Overall, it feels like a run-down hotel. It’s functional, so it's fine for a night's sleep, but it seems overpriced for what it offers. Additionally, we found the staff to be lacking in helpfulness and resourcefulness when it came to finding places for lunch or dinner in the village. As for breakfast, at 25 euros, it was definitely not worth the price. The bed and the provided viennoiseries were of rather poor quality, and the service was cold and lacked care. There was a small buffet with additional food, but the selection was very limited. In the end, we felt like we got about 5 euros' worth of food while paying 25 euros per person. Overall, not good. Stop providing filtered coffee. This is not coffee.
Pretty hotel, good size bedroom
Difficult communication with staff
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff!
I miss the gourmet meals when the hotel had a chef.
It was perfect for a 2 night stay, the -limited- parking space was saved, good breakfast
We got upgraded to another room thanks to booking that had a balcony and veranda. Absolutely gorgeous room and so so so comfortable We loved staying out on the balcony and drink wine
The hot tub area was nice but could use some upgrades
It’s located in a nice village and the hotel itself is nice.
The room especially the bathroom was quite small. Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in the room as we spent most of our time visiting. The cleaning was a bit random (we didn’t get a refill of our water nor shower gel).
