We have been coming to the san Camilo for a few years now and up until now have had a lovely stay Our room was sooo hot because there was no air conditioning on!!! There was a fan just pushing the hot air roundWe went to complain to the evening receptionist and she just basically said ‘hard luck’We realise there is from October 2024 new regulations about air conditioning that have been introduced but to not have any air conditioning on at all is ridiculous-it was lovely and cool in receptionThe reading on the touch pad in our room indicated 23 degrees -it was not working apart from a fan as I said pushing the hot air around

The fact that we paid €85 for a room that was so hot we couldn’t sleep

Everything was as we expected - we have stayed here several times when travelling from the south to Bilbao or Santander for a ferry back to the UK. The breakfast was, as ever,very good.

The restaurant was not open even though our stay was on a friday.

Clean, spacious, convenient, large grounds, on-site parking, dog friendly and welcoming staff. A very comfortable hotel.

Room very nice clean and well presented. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

We would have liked an evening meal but was not available so had to go and look for one after a day of travelling

The location is perfect for onward travel to Bilbao. The breakfast is good and the staff are very pleasant.

Wallpaper was peeling on the seams. No cafe open until 1900 - not good for Camino walkers that need rations.

The location was fantastic and the room and breakfast very good. It was also a lovely walk into Navarette

No tea/coffee in room. No bar , food or restaurant in evening.

Beautiful hotel. Only a 10 minute walk to the charming center of town. Nice size room with comfortable beds. Good breakfast with plenty of food. Exceptionally helpful staff.

The grounds are amazing for travellers with dogs with a safe large area for exercise and walks.

Great quiet old large hotel with area for excellent free parking ! Rioja country side around absolutely stunning ! Thanks to brilliant staff too !

The location is perfect for overnight travelling, just off the motorway. The staff were very charming and helpful. The evening meal was tasty, if expensive (see below). The beds were very comfortable.

Far too hot. The heat hit you as you entered the room, almost stifling. The aircon was on as well as radiators which were red hot. Easily remedied, we switched everything off and opened the window, but what a waste of money!.The food was nice, but not anything special.We felt it was overpriced for what it was. We had 8 pieces of very cold (out of the fridge) white asparagus, sitting on top of one very finely sliced tomato, with a handful of cornichons and capers. 15€ as a starter.

Difficult to operate lift (elevator).

After a long stage of thr Camino the day before, this hotel was an oasis and wonderful place of rest. It was great to have both dinner and breakfast on the property so I did not have to leave.
