Hotel Marqués de Aguilar

We used the hotel as a stop off on our way to Santander. Location is great for exploring the area and staff were most helpful. We would definitely use it again.

Terrible breakfast rude staff

Lovely hotel, very convenient, lots of parking space, really great breakfast, comfy bed, huge bathroom and mini fridge in room which was helpful.

Great breccy, central location.

The enormous bathroom had no bidet.There was nowhere to put your clothes, not one hanger, no shelves or racks!

Comfortable bed and room for a good price. Quiet. Pretty little town. Nice staff. Easy safe-seeming parking within gated enclosure or on the road. I would definitely stay here again for a stopover en route like this time or if wanting to explore. A good night's sleep.

Wish they had at least a coffee vending machine or facilities in the room. No restaurant in the evening other than an arrangement for a discount with a local one that doesn't start serving until 9pm. We didn't use it as wanted an early start.

I loved this place. I had had a terrible night's sleep the night before so really needed to sleep well. And I really did. The room was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was included too, so it was more like paying 70 euros instead of 80. Utterly safe area, not least because the police station is next door! Nice 2 minute walk into the historic centre of Aguilar.The only thing I would recommend is that the morning staff learn a bit about places to recommend, within a 50km radius. Or just admit that they don't know, which would have been fine. It was recommended to me to stop for lunch in Barakaldo, rough suburb of Bilbao!

Modern bathroom with walk in shower ? Quiet , comfortable beds

No Restaurant, but they recommend in the town with a discount for patrons of the hotel , not a nice experience, not friendly . Food was cheap & cheerful

Very nice and modern hotel. Large rooms.

Pillows are too thin and extra pillow in the room would be good.

Buffet breakfast was adequate. Plenty of food but not much variety. Some of the rolls and pastries were not fresh. Free parking in the street outside the hotel. Close to town centre.Staff were very welcoming and helpful.Good walking trails nearby.

Room was large and comfortable but decor is bland, almost sterile.

Secure parking for the motorcycles at a low cost. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower was brilliant. We went 28th June and came across end of school fair with funfair rides. There was a massive town parade in the main square and at night a massive firework display. The breakfast buffet had everything.

It says it caters for breakfast lunch and dinner however when we arrived they only did breakfast. We found a local pizza shop to solve that issue. No big deal.

the restaurant was not open but arrangements made with a restaurant 400 metres away for menu del dia 14 euros. Great food. grumpy host.

Clean rooms, good breakfast, very good value

It advertises on the Booking site as having a restaurant. This serves only breakfast, no other meals, and the bar is usually not staffed. The village has a number of bars, some may have tapas. The only real restaurant doesn’t serve meals until 9.00 pm which is late even for Spain. No idea how good it is!

Our room was superb with brilliant shower and bed. Breakfast very fresh with a good variety and choice of different foods.

The hotel was very smart but seemed to lack some furnishings such as pictures on the walls or ornaments but otherwise super.

Clean and new room. Easily car parking. Near to the city center. Breakfast was enough. Friendly staff.

Large room (and equally large bathroom) in new hotel on the S edge of the old town, just a short walk from the main square. Spotless, comfortable, good wifi. Good breakfast included. Good value for money for this standard of accommodation.
