The design of the building is unique and very individual. The upstairs room gave out on to a broad sweep of Amarante which in itself is very rewarding experience

Some people may find the stairs challenging, but hey how often do you climb a pink marble staircase? The hotel literature specifies staircase access

João was very organized in his check-in approach. He was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions. The room was small but comfortable and functional. The breakfast was excellent.

The climb up to our room was a bit tough.

The Covelo is a charming hotel in the heart of the lovely town of Amarante. Walking distance to bars and restaurants as well as all the local sights.

The free car park is good but it is a 10 minutes walk that can be tricky with rain

Superb tastefully renovated building located in the heart of the charming city. Best location for visiting the area, close to a very large free parking.

The breakfast is offered in the nearby cafe, with very limited options. For a short stay is ok, for more than 2 days is too repetitive.

The breakfast was served at a local cafe across the street from the hotel. The quality of food was good and the staff very pleasant.

Newly converted property in the heart of Amarante. The conversion has been done with good taste. The location puts you in the centre of all the activity with restaurants and patisseries at your doorstep. Breakfast is provided by the coffee shop directly opposite so you can sit and have breakfast with a beautiful river view. Amarante is one of our favourite towns in the heart of the Vinho Verde region.

Loved the design details of this boutique hotel, newly renovated and thoughtfully planned. Our room was cute and cosy but very comfortable. Debra who checked us in provided exceptional customer service, her English was excellent, super friendly and provided us with some great tips to eat, drink and do in the town. Complimentary water, coffee and breakfast very nice which you have across the road in a stunning cafe.

Modern facilities. Apart from not having an elevator, the room had a ton of amenities and was comfortable. Would return and recommend.

Breakfast was decent on a separate establishment. Could be a little more elaborate.

We would never have booked this place if we had known that there was no elevator in the building.The host let us know only after we had reserved and already payed as it was a last minute reservation .Our room was on a top floor, we had no choice but climb 4 floors to get to it.The ceilings were very low and we almost hit our head in certain areas.There was a very strong smell coming from the bathroom so we weren’t sure about how clean the place was .
