Pros +
- Beautiful
- We loved everything. Especially own private pool with view over the wine yards, delicious breakfasts and dinners in the main house and excellent wine tastings delivered by Sofia. Thank so much of this perfect wine experience.
- Nice setting, surrounded by the grape vines itself. The rooms were locate in several locations so you had to walk a short distance to get to the main building, the restaurant and the spa. It allowed one to experience the property and its grounds.
Cons -
- I bought dinner as included in our package and received a different menu. I was not told I would receive a different menu. I was embarrassed and disappointed.
- The staff overall was lacking in customer service and came off as very indifferent in their attitude toward customers. They were unwilling to accomodate simple requests such as requesting an additional room card key (would not give - 2 only even if you have a 3rd adult guest). No takeaway at the restaurant (they just took away our dishes and said "No takeout or takeaway!" When asked). The rooms felt somewhat dated like I was in a 1980's time warp. Although clean, they could use some sprucing up. Lighting in the rooms was terrible. There were minimalist looking floor and desk lamps (no ceiling lights) that did not give off much lighting so the rooms were rather dark. If you wanted to read in bed you had to move those minimalist desk lamps over to your bed.
- Nothing, really.

Breakfast was amazing. The restaurant at dinner was very good as well. The room was spectacular and perfectly cleaned. The view is breathtaking and it was really one of the best hotels to rest where I've had the pleasure to stay.I can't say this enough: the staff is wonderful. Specially the ones in the restaurant at dinner. Top quality! Best regards and thank you for the wine recommendations.

The room! Omg. So private and comfortable. If I stayed my whole stay just in that room I would have been happy
I wish the spa had a comfy quiet area that you get at other spas other than the pool and treatment rooms. But I used my room for that... so not really a negative.
From the moment we arrived at Monverde - Wine Experience Hotel, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquility and understated luxury. The staff were exceptionally friendly and thoughtful, always anticipating our needs with a genuine smile. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our stay. The hotel's facilities are modern, impeccably clean, and seamlessly integrated into the stunning landscape. The surrounding vineyards lend a unique and captivating flair to the entire property, creating a sense of being immersed in the heart of the wine region. Our room, with its private pool, was simply breathtaking. It was without a doubt the greatest hotel room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The privacy and the ability to take a refreshing dip at any time were absolute highlights.Monverde is more than just a hotel; it's a true retreat. It offers the perfect opportunity to relax, disconnect from the fast-paced rhythm of daily life, and simply unwind amidst beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will most certainly be returning. I wholeheartedly recommend Monverde - Wine Experience Hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and luxurious escape. Thank you for having us!
Truly, I can't think of any significant downpoints that detracted from my experience
architecturally, this is a stunning property!
i arrived to a room that smelled moldy/stuffy and ac not working. went back to reception, was told it's the only room available. i was told that yes there's ac but it's currently set to heating. given that that weekend was 29 degrees and the windows in the room don't open(apparently it says that somewhere but i must have missed it) i insisted on air con. finally i said either cancel my booking and refund me or get the ac working and magically they found me another room. food was poor overall and over priced for what it was. this hotel is trying to be fancy without the quality or consistency or overall experience. the restaurant is equally confusing and feels like it's run by 2 different people, i had a terrible Caesar salad that tasted like it came from a packet with a cheap super market dressing but plated fancy to an excellent fish dinner. the dinning experience was also super uncomfortable as the air con wasn't working properly. following day i wanted to eat upstairs outside by the bar and the head waiter gave me grief for 10mins explaining how everyone was hot cuz they were at full capacity and how the architect had made a design flaw with the aircon and when i insisted on eating outside because i couldn't breathe inside he finally granted me permission. how tiring! the room is super dark, bring a flash light, though i asked for a lamp every day, i never got a lamp. just when it couldn't get any worse my last 2 days at breakfast were a nightmare. 2 families with kids arrived with 4 terribly behaved children trampolining on the sofa's with their shoes, putting their hands on food all over the buffet, shouting & screaming while the parents enjoyed breakfast. the same difficult head waiter said there was nothing he could do, they're children. let's remember the moldy shower, which gave me allergies, ah & no ac in the poorly equipped gym.
I went with a friend who wanted a Portuguese wine experience, relax and good food. It was more than she expected. Everything was perfect. The restaurant is great. Delicious food and breakfast. Comfortable, clean and beautiful rooms with vineyard view. Friendly and very receptive staffs. For sure I’ll go back again.
Fantastic Stay at Monverde Wine Experience HotelWe had an amazing time at Monverde Wine Experience Hotel—the wine activities were a blast, and the food, room, location, and facilities were all top-notch.
beautifully designed and tranquil setting. dinner at the restaurant was delicious!
spa was not open in the morning
Stylish well created externally
Internally bad taste. Corporate, not boutique feel. Felt like an airport lounge
Beautiful setting, private, quiet with every amenity. The staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Excellent food & service!
I liked the location - away from everything. The breakfast was very good as well.
First..we were told they upgraded us so I wonder what our original room would have been like as the one we had faced the parking lot and this was a huge disappointment. Secondly, the lighting in this room was horrible as we couldn't see anything so I think this is something the hotel should address. It was nice but nothing what I was expecting considering it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our three weeks and not close to the nicest.
Luxurious and beautiful setting.
Difficult to book experiences in advance . Ok when at the property. Not an issue to use bathing hat in swimming pool but seems unnecessary to charge an extra euros at a costly hotel.
Unbelievable good food, great room (stayed in wine experience room with plunge pool). Breakfast was good (mimosas) and had a great wine tasting
We visited Monverde between our trips to Lisbon and Madrid. It was the perfect remedy in between all the traveling (especially with a toddler) to help us recharge and relax.
The only unfortunate part of our stay was the sauna was out of order at the time.
Good breakfast.Very comfortable rooms.Nice pools, especially we liked the indoor one. Saunas, etc. - all top notch. And of course the scenery... staying in the middle of vineyard is something we we extremely excited of.
Nothing to mention.
Relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views. Delicious food and reasonably priced, lovely wines.
just a fantastic location. Amazing design and great staff
Beautiful location amongst the vineyards. Excellent spacious room, super clean. Friendly knowledgeable staff, excellent breakfast and dinner. Spa treatments were also excellent and good value for money.
