Hotel Porta do Sol Conference & SPA

Every single person is so kind. They gave me a back up charger because I left mine at another hotel. They let me check in early and helped me book a massage same day.

Nice view from window/terrace and from restaurant. Nice hot, strong shower. Enjoyed steam room after a full day of walking.

Too far from train station if you have luggage. Be aware that taxis are hard to get. We waited over a half hour for a taxi despite one hotel person telling us it was coming. We almost missed our train. Finally, A hotel manager arranged for a housekeeper to take us. Be aware and schedule a ride if you really need one!

Had to move rooms as the air conditioner did not work and the phone in the room was not working. I reserved a massage that started late and was not the full 60 minutes . The river view rooms are on the road and was noisy all night

Noisy. Horribly understaffed. Inflexible … no food served in bar during dinner hour, no early check in even though rooms were empty. Room was horribly hot. Vibe felt like a place going out of business.

Location was great! Room was very clean. STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK WERE AWFUL!!!!!! Saw many people in conflicts with the staff. They were not nice. Makes the hotel a bad experience.

The pool and restaurants were amazing. The employees working at this hotel are also above and beyond. Breakfast was included an amazing.

We were told that water was not drinkable, but then there wasn’t a spot where we could get water unless we wanted to pay lot for a bottle

Large rooms, great pool and lounge area. They have a spa on site.

Restaurant was average

The restaurant was excellent, the facilities were lovely, and the room beautiful.

The only thing I can think of is that the facade could use a little updating, and the hallways were a bit too warm (it was August).

Breakfast was decent. Not enough staff at front and not very friendly or helpful. The spa ladies were amazing and pool section was also spectacular. A few guests we’re disappointed with staff.

Table on patio would be nice and expected vs. only two chairs; room was small but OK.

Very comfortable room and very attentive staff. We arrive Friday check-in, but staff was very accommodating and let us use the pool even though we had not yet gotten in our room. Dinner that night was amazing. Our table was right up front in the dining room and overlooked The water.

Room was well appointed, comfortable bed, nice amenities....restaurant was great to have breakfast. Staff was above and beyond helping me get a taxi, boat ticket, translating to Portuguese. Just wonderful!

For a fancy stay along the Camino, this place was really really nice! I LOVED the spa and getting a massage! Dinner was incredible! I slept like a baby! They helped me figure out the ferry across the Rio Minho for the next day.

Location is amazing. Breakfast is great with an amazing view.

Spa is too small for the size of the hotel. Slots of 50min (including indoor pool) not great to manage with small kids.

The location was really good as well as the rom view and the staff were really nice.

The fact that we had to book the spa and could do it only once a day and be there for 50 minutes only. Additionally, we had dinner and there was only one couvert available and it took ages for them to bring the food. The restaurant was almost empty.
