    • Everything. It was the most amazing Hotel . Staff , the best and extremely helpful . Restaurant fabulous , location amazing .
    • Beautiful large room…modern amenities in an architectural authentic hotel
    • Comfortable hotel just outside the town. Staff were very friendly and helpful, albeit they seemed very busy & so service wasn't always fast. Good bedrooms.

    Cons -

    • N/ A .
    • Worth noting that the hotel is not in an area with lots of options for eating & the restaurant does not open on a Sunday evening. Fortunately they sorted out some food for us which was fine.
    • The rooms are not sound proof although they have what look like stone walls. Evening meal menu del noche was lovely and the breakfast was also excellent . Excellent location for a visit to the Loyola sanctuary.

The hotel was more than we expected! This is a pretty remote area and the staff was able to answer all our questions, they were exceedingly sweet and helpful! The rooms were absolutely spectacular!

We didn't love the food, but that could be personal preference. Don't let that stop you from staying here!

    Excellent home made dishes

Lots of character, good size room

Family-Run business and they make you feel like home and the staff is very polite and smiley. The location is strategic to visit many towns of the area and beautiful beaches. If you have a car of course. I would definitely come back. Thank you so much!

This place was an unexpected total gem. We were a group of 9 people doing a pilgrimage through northern Spain, and this was by far one of our best experiences. Larañaga is a family owned business by Alfred, Maria, and their daughter Olatz. They welcomed our group with great attention and care. They made us feel like their own family. It probably helped that Maria seemed especially fond of our priest traveling with us :-)The rooms were spacious, clean, and almost luxurious. We were treated to dinner the first evening and breakfast the next morning with phenomenal Basque cuisine. The breakfast had a huge variety of homemade pastries and delicacies of Basque cuisine. I felt like this was a steal for the price they charged. Frankly, it seems ridiculous to me that this is listed as a 1 star hotel. It felt more like a 3-4 star hotel.

A favourite - have stayed here several times. Lovely rooms, good value, helpful staff. Outdoor and indoor areas are very pleasant!

Historical building, big rooms, wonderful food and excellent customer service!

Family room was well priced and matched the descriptions. The lady at breakfast was particularly welcoming and helpful. Lots of items at breakfast but maybe the many creamy cakes should have been kept cool and under cover. A pity we arrived on a Sunday so there was no evening meal available. However a pleasant stay and overall highly satisfactory.

No evening meal available on Sundays. A bit noisy early morning because the hotel is next to a saw mill.

Loved the traditional Spanish feel and the authenticity of the staff. The breakfast was fantastic, definitely an ‘indulge’ and the views were stunning. The bar terrace was great, and the bedroom was a good size. The bathroom was lovely. Parking was very easy ☺️

Nothing not to like. Maybe some sun loungers on the terrace would be a nice touch and a fridge but all was very acceptable.

Clean and big enough room with a terrace, air conditioning, tv, ok view, playground for kids

No fridge in room, noisy outdoors in the morning, location is basically in an industrial area.Billiard area but balls were taken away. Host welcoming us could be a lot more nice and welcoming, said no word basically, no information. Not very service minded.Food was terrible. Dinner was expensive and not tasty at all, extra payment for baguette that wasn’t requested. Breakfast was only twenty different sweet cakes but no fresh croissants or bread, sweaty cheese and ham. Coffee was ok thought.

Beautiful building & excellent staff, good food

Location a little remote nothing in walking distance

    9FionaPosted on: 7-5-2024

All the staff we encountered were excellent and very patient with our limited Spanish. The room was very clean and a good size, with a nice private terrace. We had dinner in the restaurant. Great menu and very good value for money. Breakfast was also excellent. We often travel to Spain from our home in France and would definitely stay here again. Free parking was also available.

    10PaulaPosted on: 7-1-2024

Absolutely immaculate hotel and rooms with terrace! Really good value and a fabulous spread for breakfast. The staff are so friendly and the owners have run the place for 57 years so their generosity shines through. Restaurant is good and is always packed!

    9VirginiaPosted on: 6-28-2024

Spacious, comfortable and clean room and bathroom. Historical building transformed into a hotel & restaurant nicely decorated. Tasty breakfast with homemade pastries. Private safe parking.

    10MollyPosted on: 5-23-2024

What a find! The building is full of history and charm with pictures of the renovation. Comfortable with different areas to relax, bar, outside covered space and even a carom table (we learnt in a night and loved it!)

Nothing, I will ? be going back for the place, food, service and expire the town. A must if travelling between France and Spain via San Sebastián
