    Pros +

    • Very friendly staff. A welcoming restaurant with extensive menu. Hot water, a view, and I got a room upgrade!
    • The hotel was in the middle of town and they had a nice restaurant. Check in was quick. The staff was friendly and found me a remote control when there wasn't one in the room. The TV did have a lot of channels.
    • The location was great - right on the main street of Werfen, and parking was easy. The staff were very polite and friendly; the owner even brought our dinner up to us in the room after a long day of travelling and hiking so we didn't have to wait downstairs (we were very tired haha). It met our expectations for the price and had it's own sort of ski-lodge-type charm. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

    Cons -

    • Forgot that everything is closed in Austria on Sunday so no breakfast.
    • The room was extremely dark. There was one window but it faced a wall. There were two chairs but one was extremely wobbley. The room was small but I did expect that. The bathroom was tiny but we did manage in it.
    • There is a church across the street that rang its bell every hour throughout the night, and we slept with the window open since there is no AC unit in the room, so it was a bit hard to sleep

Charming family owned hotel and restaurant.. We totally enjoyed our stay.

We were there in the off season, traveling by bike. The hotel normally offers breakfast, I think, but not at the time we were there. We were told we could get coffee and breakfast at a cafe nearby, at 8am, but, it didn’t really open until 9. Since we were cycling, that was a little too late, and there really weren’t any other places to even get a cup of coffee anywhere in town. Maybe a coffee maker in the room would have been nice.

This spot has all the basic amenities you need for a ski trip to the surrounding area. There is street parking just in front of the hotel, and a descent italian restaurant downstiars. They also have a space for your ski gear to be stored in the lobby area. Was suitable for our needs, but no frills.

The town itself doesn't have much, just a couple of restaurants and a grocery. Most businesses close early, so don't plan on a late night here.

    Not great!

Wifi advertised but not available to us. room not clean with broken mirror and door lock not working in the bathroom. Bed at floor level so hard to get in and out. Couch was not really a third bed as it didn’t have pull out section. No idea how a fourth person would be accommodated! Unit was dirty with belongings from other people still there.

Located in a small town with a magnificent view of the mountains around it. We got 4-bed room, the minifridge was a great addition; ski storage and boot drier are available and located in the lobby. 2 min walking to a shop, 10 mins to the closest ski resort + the castle (but it was closed for the winter break). For the free parking, drive behind the building.

Clean enough, low price per room, but that's all the pluses, unfortunately. Nearby there are many cafes where you can sit in the evening, but the same reason for the occupied until 22-00 parking spaces.

If you have no other alternative, this is a place to stay I guess, but it's still better to look for something else. Great view from the window of the wall opposite you, lack of any shower supplies and a weird “old” smell. This was the first and last time I stayed here, next time I'd rather pass by.

Location on the high street close to the train station and the roof terrace

It was cold in the room and the heating didn’t work too well. No shower gel nor soap in the room. It was very noisy and it took me 3 hours to fall asleep. The floor creaked so every time somebody came up to their room in was very noisy

    7HeatherPosted on: 9-5-2024

The property was in a very convenient location and the groom had a refrigerator.

The room didn’t have any soap.

The scenery was beautiful, and the staff was very nice. It's a few train rides to Salzburg, and there are beautiful trails to hike. There was a community patio where you can see the mountain and castle! And the family-run restaurant serves great Italian/Austrian food!

Our room was advertised as a mountain view, but it was not, we were facing a wall.

We could check in earlier without problems, personnel was really friendly. The location is great.

The folding door to the bathroom...

The location was perfect, right on the main street. Italian restaurant on the first floor + the street.

the old owner is a bit crabby. There was also another man, maybe his son, very nice guy, but the old one is the decision maker. The room was very small.

    1SarahPosted on: 7-14-2024

Tired, noisy, no amenities, no breakfast.

Room was like a sauna. No aircon. To sleep I had to leave the window open - it’s 20 meters from a motorway. Couldn’t sleep anyway. No one on reception. No breakfast. No toiletries.

    6JasonPosted on: 6-28-2024

The common balcony with table and chairs was a great bonus

No fan in room or AC. No toiletries.
