- Hotel in a beautiful historic building in a historic part of town. Large room with a new bathroom. Staff very friendly
- Wonderful stay. The atmosphere upon entering was lovely. Friendly helpful reception. Beautiful doors and woodwork. Room had balcony overlooking square, was large and bright.
Cons -
- Currently there is a sidewalk reconstruction project happening in the area around the hotel that was loud and unrelenting. It ended at about 7:30PM but started up again the next morning before 8AM. Certainly not the hotel's fault but would have diminished our experience significantly had we wanted to sleep in. Breakfast was convenient, good coffee but no protein available.
- Square had bright lights on at night, some noise at night so keeping windows open was not very pleasant. But location and comfort was worth it.
- We happened to be in town during a festival- it was loud. Not the hotel’s fault

Friendly, flexible , let us into room early. Centrally located

Right on the Camino del Norte route, and right in the middle of the city. Old, historic hotel and property, interiors feature a big staircase to the upper rooms, lots of dark wood. The hotel and the room feature lots of dark wood touchesOverall, great place to stay while on the camino. There's an adjacent cafe to purchase morning breakfast. Friendly staff who gave us great dinner recommendations (and don't forget to go to a sidreria while in this Asturias city. We enjoyed having our windows open to watch the sky change colors and watch the morning hustle and bustle (it's a small city, so very relative). Literally steps to everything: laundromats, supermarkets, restaurants and bars, shops, post office, historic tourist places, everything is right there. I would def stay here again. Thank you to Casa España staff!
Bed mattress was too soft/squishy for our liking.
Had a really good stay here! The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet — exactly what we needed after a long Camino stage. Check-in was smooth, the location is great, and everything was within walking distance. Slept well and felt totally recharged the next day. Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommended!
Great location center of town, clean and comfortable, good value, friendly staff
Great location on edge of old town. Simple but comfortable rooms with a fair amount of space. Beautiful building.
Location was excellent right on the Camino. Great food nearby. Hotel has character.
Street noise was present but manageable.
Right on the Camino. Beautiful exterior and interiors.
Windows wouldn’t open. No outlet for charging except in the bathroom.
This is a beautiful characterful hotel with modern facilities right in the middle of Villaviciosa, which itself is a hidden gem of inland Spain. I stayed there before and made a point of going back. The en-suite bathroom was modern, spotless and well equipped with toiletries and the common areas are charming. It's right on the Camino and there is a row of very civilised bars and cafés just around the corner.
It would be nice if the hotel bar/coffee shop had stayed open longer.
No hot water when we arrived at 1pm and reception did not mention this. 5 hours later - yes !! FIVE hours later and at our insistence we were moved to an entirely empty hotel that was unmanned. But at least I could shower. The hotel should not have been open without basic service like hot running water. No communication from staff - we went to them many times, each time to be told a man is coming, a man is here, it will be another hour etc. They knew we were walking Camino del Norte and that we wanted an early shower to put on clean clothes and explore.
Doing el Camino. Trail just a block away. Innkeeper lovely, kind, helpful. I’m accustomed to La Comida. She recommended Casa Milagros for Comida. So far the best meal in the Camino.
Old historical building with modern hotel facilities. Located right at the centre of town with a cafe in the building where you can get breakfast or a drink / bits to eat at other times. Very friendly and helpful staff.
A very solid property- I didn’t hear a thing from any only the other rooms, nor from outside. I slept like a log! And I loved the newly refinished bathrooms! Very clean. And the bed was super comfortable!
Comfortable room classic details comfy bed right on Camino 1blk off main road in town check in person very accommodating restaurant on site
2nd floor no elevator but I can live with that good legs
Gorgeous historic building beautifully maintained and managed ... fantastic modern bathroom! (shower)
Such a lovely hotel , spotlessly clean with great character features. The room was huge with a lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed with great views over the town. Close to everything and lovely staff.
Not a problem for us but worth noting the WiFi doesn't reach the top floor so might be worth checking where your room is if you needed a good connection :)
The hotel is lovely! Our room was basic but had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, staff was amazing, coffee was delicious.
I prefer a white sheet duvet cover to a flowered bedspread.
The location, the view, the interior, the staff!
