About
Nestled in a green plain among citrus orchards and olives groves, Spilia Village combines traditional stone-built rooms with modern facilities. A swimming pool, a peaceful garden and a pool bar are located within the orange orchard. There is also an area for receptions up to 250 people and a large parking area. The main building of the hotel, which consists of the reception and the breakfast restaurant is housed in a former factory. The traditional Tavern Halara serves carefully prepared Cretan cuisine in beautiful setting. Spreading over 4,000 square yards, all rooms at Spilia Village bear unique names and are charmingly decorated boasting their original Venetian arches and exposed wooden ceiling beams. Some bathrooms include hot tubs or aero-massage bathtubs. Spilia village is located 1.9 mi from the beach in Kolimbari, 16 mi west of the town of Chania and 23 from the lagoon of Balos. The Port of Souda is at 19 mi and the Chania International Airport is within 23 mi.

Pros +
- It’s a beautiful hotel, located 30 minutes of Chania and about 1h for both Elafonisis beah and Balos lagoon. Very calm place with AMAZING staff. The private pool is absolutely stunning.
- Wonderful village with great facilities. All the staff was friendly and we enjoyed our time very much. PingPong was great to rest from the sun. Bed and linen really good. Frontdesk staff always available and ready to help.
- Location, staff, quality of food, parking, and especially the cleaning staff, they were amazing and worked very hard to keep everything clean.
Cons -
- We were in Villa Aris and there was a lot of ants on the second floor, on the counter and running around near the bedroom door. The Villa also had a strong humidity scent.
- Our family room was subpar I must admit. It had a window that could not be blacked out so we had to ask the maintenance guy to go to the roof and put cardbox over it. C'mon, its for sleeping purposes only.A bit to expensive if you ask me.
- maybe a bit outdated interiorbut overall, we loved the place and would come back again

Amazing location away from the crowds. Great staff. Everyone was very friendly and gave us lots of advice on local points of interest. Excellent pools for the kids. Delicious breakfast.
All perfect - hope to be back one day.
Beautiful villa with pool, comfortable rooms, large terrace, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Special thanks to Manos who gave us a lot of useful advices.
Beautiful pools with plenty of space to sit and lounge; lovely breakfast with lots of variety; comfortably furnished rooms and friendly staff. Set in a small village with 2 tavernas within easy walking distance.
Location - near everythingCharm & the cats! And the wonderful staff especially Artemis & Manos ??
The location, the quietness, the villa we stayed in
Absolutely nothing
Beautiful setting Lovely little village Good to be away from the chaos of Chania Staff all very polite and welcoming
The rooms downstairs were way too dark with not enough lighting Staircase was windy, small and not really suitable for younger children or older adults. They were a little rickety too
We stayed in one of the villas at the property. We were a family of 5 and had a 2 bedroom villa, with 2 double bedrooms and a sofabed. The villa was clean and very comfortable. All rooms had air conditioning. Breakfast was included and was taken at the hotel. The hotel itself is situated in a picturesque and quiet little village, which was just perfect. Very relaxing. We’d highly recommend this property for families looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay. You will need a car through for any activity outside the village.
It would be useful to know that the villas each have different sizes of pool - we would have booked a bigger pool had we known this. Kitchen could be equipped with salt and pepper.
Apart from the rooms, the hotel itself is really nice and lovely. Pool and breakfast area especially enjoyable.
Rooms are old and outdated. AC was not working, and the only option we were offered to fix this and avoid 28 degrees in a room, after a really lengthy discussion, was to pay for an upgrade. The room we ended up with was better, but this is unacceptable!
Beautiful facility in the Crete countryside, with a gorgeous pool and delicious restaurant.
Great cozy hotel in the middle of an old town surronded by olive trees.Very friendly service, nice pool area andl a great architecture with a perfect mixture of old structures and new materials. We stayed 6nights and had a wonderfull time.Thank you Spilia Village Team!
Great pool area, very gentle and experienced staff , nice restaurant and tasty food. All were great and we enjoyed our stay outside the room more than what we expected.
Extremely small rooms. We had a two floor apartment with about 2sq meter free to walk in each floor. Big bathroom. Balcony is a miniature of balcony where there is not even a centimetre left for your feet, impossible to sit even one person. No place for a family to dry their things after a day at the beach.
Amazing, friendly staff. Beautiful views. Hotel made a packed breakfast if you left earlier than the breakfast in the hotel.
Parking could be a bit limited when hotel is busy but didn’t impact me in any major way.
Amazing! Friendly, inviting, picturesque, lovely pools. Great family friendly environment. Breakfast was over the top. Wonderful in every way and I can't say enough great things and Spilia Village Hotel. Village setting was so charming and great views. Walkable to tavernas. It was probably my favorite place in 2 months of traveling in Greece, and I would love to return some time. Don't miss walking up up up the hill to the church and cave for the views.
Nothing. It was a truly incredible place in every way.
Excellent rural location, great staff.
Stayed in a villa. Some small upgrades should be made: shower leaked, no place to hang towels anywere.
We loved the easy access to everything that we needed for a very relaxed stay on Crete. The free car parking was an added bonus! The beautiful village of Spilia was a gorgeous backdrop to the lovely hotel.
It's only minor but variety in the evening menu would have been nice! We stayed for 10-days and it got a little repetitive. Also lighting in the bedroom could have been better.
Breakfast was included and the resort did a good job at providing some variety on a daily basis. We stayed in a 3-bedroom room villa with private pool - accusation was great, pool maintained and cleaned daily, staff were friendly and welcoming.
Happy with most things. Kitchen could have done with another sauce pan but we managed.
