Plaza Mayor

What a great choice! Location and check in were perfect. Plaza Mayor overlooks Plaza where most Pilgrims congregate at outdoor restaurant. The rooms are far enough back that noise is no issue. You just get a great overview of activity. An immaculate laundromat is nearby. We purchased (cash only) the complete full morning breakfast buffet. What a treat! Highly recommend. Staff so joyful and helful.

Nothing to dislike.

The hosts were fabulous. Perfect location in the heart of the town on the central plaza with restaurants and shops, and right on the Camino. Good breakfast to start the day. Even better than when we stayed here eight years ago when we were walking the Camino, and it was such a nice place to stay that we returned this year while driving to some of our favourite places.

Some street noise late at night, but we had a front room and enjoyed the view. There are also rooms off the street, if preferred.

Nice room with comfortable beds. The entire hotel was spotless. Breakfast buffet was good. The hosts were outstanding.

They have an elevator. They offer laundry service where they return the cleaned items directly to your room. Excellent location in town on the main square- but quiet at night. Staff were wonderful.

Quiet cool rooms with a modern bathroom. Spacious rooms. Nice breakfast and good coffee. Location is right on the main plaza.

Breakfast could have been earlier OR a espresso machine in the room would have made it better..

Air conditioned room after a hot Camino hike, good location, 10 minute walk to cool river, friendly hostess, and €4 euro breakfast. I felt rejuvenated after staying here.

Water was turned off without our knowledge and without consideration to any pilgrims who may be staying at the hotel and wanting to leave before it was turned back on. Brown icky water. So gross.

Wonderfully clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of town directly on the Camino. Ideal location to visit historic sites with easy access to lots of restaurants. We had a great nights sleep. The beds were comfortable and bedding thick for the cool breeze coming off of the surrounding hills. The staff met all our needs. Highly recommended!!

The water pressure could’ve been better in the shower and the waste baskets could’ve been larger rather than the clunky small, foot activated lid type.

The hotel is in a wonderful location, on Plaza Mayor and steps from multiple bars and restaurants. It’s also a short walk to the River Walk and Alameda. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable.

The corner shower in the bathroom had no walls or curtain, so keeping the floor dry was a challenge. Not all bathrooms have this setup, however.

In the heart of town, close to restaurants and right in the Camino.The staff is extremely kind and the rooms are the best you’ll find anywhere on the Camino.

It was a 12 euro charge per person for breakfast which is fine if you are able to take a sandwich and piece of fruit for the road like all other places allow but there was a sign in front of the exit door stating that food can not leave the dining room. 12 euros is expensive for someone that only wants toast and coffee and OJ for breakfast. This usually costs 5 euros at a cafe.Thus, it is an overpriced breakfast for someone that doesn’t eat much in the morning.

I had room 305 with views of mountains and top of city. Right on square and in hub of town. Room and bath were marble and hardwood making it spectacular. Nice tub and comforts for the Camino. Offered buffet breakfast

Location, host, cleanliness and breakfast amazing!

Perfect location, modern, clean. The laundry service was fast and only 12 euro for the staff to clean and deliver your Camino trail clothes! Staff recommended a couple of great restaurants right around the corner.

Brilliant location, clean and spacious with a bath

Nice hotel, central location off the Camino. Excellent hot shower and tub and the staff is buen mucho.

Lovely room right on the main area of Villafranca. Room was very nice and comfortable, if a little noisy at night due to the location. Great restaurant nearby Meson Los Ancares with lovely owners and a cut above some of the places on the main square.

Breakfast was a little costly and somewhat restricted - in hindsight I'd have gone to one of the cafes on the main square instead
