Blix Hotel

The hotel was very nice. It was minutes from where the ferry drops you off. It was a walkable distance to the Hopperstad Stave church. Right across the street from the supermarket too. It was clean and perfect for a 1 night stay.

Vik only really has 2 restaurants to choose from - the hotel restaurant and a Thai restaurant. The hotel restaurant didn't have much to choose from and was very expensive. We ended up going with Thai (so delicious) but it would be nice to have a few more options at the hotel too. And it would be nice to have a mini fridge in the hotel room since there wasn't a lot of places to eat except the supermarket.

The breakfast was fine.The dinner at the restaurant was good. Free parking, but limited spaces.

hall carpeting needs replacing.

Very helpful staff after our flight to Bergen delayed our arrival and a tremendous breakfast!

Everything is great, from the food to the breakfast, just be aware that in low season they operate only with core staff, so things move slowly

Breakfast was a treat. Staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Shower made the bathroom floor too wet, poor design. Extra towels are needed to dry the floor.

It was at a convenient halfway point to our next destination. The breakfast room and breakfast were decent.

The room was filthy. It smelled like rodents had nested there, and there was a large rodent dropping by the head of the bed. There was dirt/debris along the edges of the room and in spots on the walls in the bathroom. The room clearly had not been swept or vacuumed before our arrival. I didn’t mind the old carpet in the hallway, the run-down dormitory feel, or the fraying damaged frame around the bathroom door—but the unsanitary conditions were very upsetting. For this we paid the exorbitant price of NOK 1,850–more than we paid for comfortable, highly-rated hotels in Bergen and Alesund.

We had dinner in the restaurant. It was pretty good. The breakfast the next morning was also pretty good. Standard fare.

The bathroom had only one soap dispenser which was next to the sink. There was no shampoo or soap in the shower, so we had to pump some of the liquid soap from the sink into a cup (from the receptionist) because you cannot reach the soap dispenser when in the shower. No other amenities other than the liquid soap dispenser. (No shampoo, body lotion or hair conditioner provided). We found this kind of unusual.The electric vehicle charging station wasn't working after being told earlier by message that an EV charging station was on the property. Fortunately, another EV station was a block away...

The breakfast is very good, good location, nice room and confy beds

Veeery old bathroom, it gets full of water when you use the shower. Noisy hotel (if you can say hotel- it's like a cabin), you hear everyone in the toilet from all the rooms around all night

Super friendly & helpful staff. Central location. Cozy breakfast (delicious breads!). Next to a grocery store & Tine Meieri café (great coffee!). We got extra towels and pillows no problem. We arrived late so ordered pizza from the hotel restaurant (delicious!) The view of the mountains from the patio with birdsong in the morning was wonderful. A short 3 minute walk and you are right on the water with breathtaking views of Sognefjord.

The rooms are basic but if you’re just stopping for a night or two it’s perfect.

The breakfast was extraordinary with local specialities, the stuff was kind and helpful. Ideal for walking in the village. Free parking. The room was simple, but clean and had every nevessary things.

The price was relatively high. Thin walls.

The location is great. The water is in walking distance, there's a grocery store across the street, and Tine cheese next door. The view from our porch was beautiful. It was a short drive to other fjords we wanted to visit. The restaurant was good and the staff for the hotel and restaurant were friendly. If you see other reviews that complained about the shower door not keeping the water in: they aren't understanding that it is a wet room.

We were on the first floor and it would have been nice to have a step down off the porch/balcony on to the lawn as it was just slightly too high without one.

Nice restaurant, we arrived late but the staff were helpful and looked after us with a delicious meal. Very good breakfast too. Big car park and lovely quiet rooms.

The rooms are slightly away from the hotel, it was fine for us but might be less than ideal in heavy rain.

Very helpful receptionist. The kitchen was already closed when we arrived, but she offered to serve pizza and drinks.Enough parking spots. The pier is within walking distance, and there is a supermarket right across the street.

The bedsheets were not clean at all. We even found snack crumbs from the previous guests on bed.

We were impressed with the care consistently provided by the Blix staff. Our questions, prior to our arrival, were answered well, and the advice about the venue and area was so helpful, and meant we really enjoyed our stay in Vik. Thank you!

The beds were comfortable, the breakfast spread was good. The member of staff that we encountered was friendly and seemed to be doint everything (reception, breakfast, etc)

The carpets were worn and grubby. The car charger didn't work.

The hotel is located on the fjord in a very nice town, really beautiful surroundings. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good, especially the raspberry jam was delicious!

No fridge in the room.

The location was fine, set back from the road. The reception and restaurant are clean and modern which is a complete contrast to the actual sleeping area. Evening meal was very good as was breakfast.Staff were helpful.

Don't be fooled by the picture, that's the reception and conference centre.The accommodation can be best described as youth hostel.
