Location, breakfast, rooms were clean and comfortable

We loved the place - especially the mini-gold, the sandy lakeside with chairs and the restaurant. Beautiful place to stay on the way back to Oslo. There is even a steam train nearby.

Location near the water, relaxing. A lot of supermarkets near by.

Not good noice isolation in the room. A bit outdated hotel.

Nice people at reception, spacious rooms with a nice view towards the water, nice little beach, good lunch.

Hotel was good but it is more for events or celebrations. The view is amazing on sunset. tmThe staff was very friendly & helpful

When we were staying the hotel was full and we had to stay in one room with 2kids and 2adults at the lower level (with lake view). it was quite small for a family of 4. The air quality was terrible. No air conditioning in the room, they put fans in the room. It was really humid and no fresh air as they also suggest not to open windows because of Mayflies. You can imagine 4 people in one room packed and no fresh air. We tried not to stay in the room during the day. Wifi was slow, in the room Don't expect a modern style flat screen TV and international channels, only satellite and 5 /6 Norwegian channels.To use the Tennis court -you need your equipment. Pretty much nothing is included. Even no tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast was good But we were told that coffee &tea during the day is with extra fee (did not see that in the hotels in other cities Bergen & Stavanger where we spent time before coming to this hotel). Beach was good & quiet.I did not see a playground as mentioned, there was only a swing chair and few games at the reception area for kids. Mini golf is with a fee. No phones in the rooms to call reception, I had few issues in the room on the first night and every time I had to go up or call from my phone. Restaurant kitchen closes at 20.00 (was a bit early for summer evenings especially when you are around and got back to hotel to have dinner)As I said it looks ideal for business events,team outings or wedding celebrations. I did not find it great for families with kids/maybe my kids were more active and looking for things to do in the hotel.

To our surprise we were up- graded without any extra costs to a beautiful room with fjord view. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows and fluffy duvets. Great shower and toiletries.The hotel was located in stunning surroundings close to the beach in an almost park like area. Walking distance to Vikersund.The breakfast was amazing with a huge spread of everything you could ever wish for. Great coffe!. Very friendly and hospitable staff.

Wonderful Hotel in an axcellent position just in front of the lake. We had an upgrade of the room for free with lake view and balcony and was really amazing. Breakfast at an exceptional level (quality and quantity and attention of the people working there) and staff very nice and pleasant.

The size of the room but only because we asked for foru beds and a double room with two additional beds is not really spacious. But we enjoyed anyway at 100% our stay

Hotel reception mostly not in reception area, we had to wait 10minutes to check in. It says hotel has car charging, after looong drive it was a bad surprise that hotel is not supplies the charging cable. We were planning to eat the dinner at hotel restaurant but because of car charging we had to go out.

The staff were very helpful. The young lady at the receptionist changed my room when I asked for a change in the twin beds pushed together. She immediately gave us a room and that was lovely.

Breathtakingly beautiful view of the Tyrifjord from our room. We were very glad to have paid extra for a lake view with a balcony - that made our stay extra special, and I was able to get some incredible photos of the Tyrifjord at sunset.The room was lovely. Generously sized, with a fantastic bathroom, and a fridge. Very comfortable bed, with good space either side of the bed, and bedside tables with lamps.The staff were really helpful. Online ordering worked great - we ordered a pizza, a burger, and some beers, and got a text to say our order was ready to collect from reception. Prices for food and drinks at the hotel were reasonable for Norway. The coffee was excellent too.Vikersund is the closest train station to the Krøderbanen heritage railway, which we came to visit for the twilight train and a steam gala. The Krøderbanen is totally worth a visit for heritage railway enthusiasts - it's the longest standard gauge heritage railway in Norway, and the location is beautiful with wonderful scenery - and some gorgeous locomotives and rolling stock.

Not a criticism of the hotel itself (which was fantastic), but there is a severe lack of buses in Vikersund at the weekend. We were visiting the Krøderbanen so had to pay for taxis to and from Krøderen (about 25km away from Vikersund) for the twilight train, and also to get to Krøderen for the gala the following morning. So we spent almost as much on taxis to and from Krøderen as we did for two nights at the hotel (excluding food and drinks).It's about half an hour's walk from Vikersund station to the hotel, which is OK if the weather is good, but not so nice if it's raining.

Quality of food was really good. A very extensive breakfasts buffet with lovely cheeses and breads. The outside terras was a lovely place for both dinner and breakfast.

De temperature of the room on the top floor was hot! No airco, even with two ventilators it wasn't easy to sleep. The Dinning & Breakfast room was noisy and overcrowded (it is a very big hotel)

Delighted we chose to come back and mark our 25 anniversary here. Tyrifjord Hotell is located beside Norways 5th largest lake in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Everything clean and tidy! Our room was so lovely with a varanda looking out on to the lake and beach below. We had beautiful weather too and was able to go for walks round the aria. The food tasted amazing. We dinned for lunch, evening meal and breakfast ( breakfast included) Staff so friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

Very good breakfast buffet and a nice dinner as well. A chill place at the lake and near the worlds largest skijumping hill.

Due to earlier flood damage we missed the minigolf.
