Pros +
- Cute, next to restaurant and close to small town.
- The price was good, and the location was a great stopping point prior to getting up into the Dolomites.
- The owner was very friendly and proud of his parents who owned the property before him. Parking is free on site. The location is gorgeous. The restaurant on site was wonderful. The room was old, but clean.
Cons -
- Very hot on the top floor. No fans or air conditioning.
- It felt very old and the bathrooms weren’t very nice. I didn’t want to walk around without shoes on. But the bedding and other areas were nice. It was mostly just old.
- The breakfast was mostly prepackaged items, but sufficient, not sure it was worth 5 euros per pereson. There was mouse poop in a serving bowl and on the counter. There was no remote control to our TV so we couldn't turn it on. The owner said, sorry, someone must have taken it. There was only 1 key so it was inconvenient for our family who had 2 people going somewhere else. The property is just really old.

That is a place with a soul, where the time stood still in the 1970s, the interiors look old-fashioned, you can meet local people in the bar, that is really awesome to feel the ambiance of a tiny italian village in the middle of nowhere. There is a pizzeria nearby and a food market about 500m from there. The rooms are big and comfy. Our 2 husky dogs were accepted and they could sleep comfortably, the suite had 3 pieces in fact: the main room, a tiny hall and a bathroom. The parking lot is ok.
If you don't like old-fashioned things, you won't like it. The staff doesn't speak English well but they do everything they can to help you.
Spacious roomQuiteRestaurant
The water in the bath has no power poor streamPoor internetLots of stairs to climb with the luggage
The nice gentleman at the reception when we arrived. The retro style of the hotel. It looked like a luxury 70s hotel to me.The nice garden of the restaurant nearby. The hallway between the room and the bathroom. Nice! The proximity to the Pope's Sanctuary. I walked there, and I enjoyed the trip.
The bathroom could move on from the 70s style I mentioned, though.
The town is wonderful, the surroundings are beautiful. The hotel is very nice, it has a restaurant and free parking.
Nice hotel, big room. There is a parking lot. There is a great pizzeria in the same building.
There was no hair dryer.
The location is great. A quick drive to Auronzo and onto the famous lakes. Staff are wonderful and accommodating. Truly lovely people. It's lovely, peaceful and quiet. Stays nice and dark when the shutters are closed so it would be really easy to sleep.
The room stank of mold. The staining on the wall shows there is/ has been a bad leak. Bathroom is in desperate need of a refurb: tiles missing, mold stains on the grout, constant noise of water running even when taps are off and toilet not flushing, dark marks looking like dirt behind the taps. Bed is horridly uncomfortable. Paying €100 a night for something that bad is insulting.
Pleasant
The bathroom needs renovation - black mold is growing in places. Breakfast is only suitable for children - yogurt, Nutella juice and a bun is clearly not enough for an adult.
This albergo was great for us, even if it's an old building, not modern, we feel very attached of the man from the reception and we were very happy to stay there. The beds were excellent, the sheets deserve 5 stars.Big room, good breakfast and the accommodation price very affordable. I really recommend.
When you first arrive, you might be overwhelmed by the old building, but once you get used, you will fall in love of Albergo Trieste
Very traditional Italian hotel with a friendly gentleman at the reception. The lady in the restaurant is also very helpful. Spacious bathroom and big room. Free parking.
No lift, bathtub didn’t work. Stained carpet.
An elegant old building with some really nice managers. Simple furnishings and a good resutaurant downstairs
A door to the bathroom sufficiently tall for modern people.
You can sense the place has a long history and the location is great. The room was spacious and comfortable
Needs a refresh in some areas, but overall is good
It was a charming old family run hotel in a small quiet scenic village. The restaurant attached was spacious with lovely mountain views and excellent food. We really couldn’t have been happier with our 1 night stay here.
Tge hotel has it's own charm, its like coming from another time. The owner was very friendly, room was ok but old. Double bed was also ok. But the best was the Pizzeria located in the hotel, it was soo delicious
It's not in best condition, but due to it's style i personally liked it. But I'm quite sure not everyone does
Disappointing
Heating system was barely working (very cold room), mold smell everywhere and shower water took almost 10 minutes to heat up. The room was generally not clean (spider webs on the ceiling). Don’t recommend!
The location was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although the hotel could probably use a bit of updating, it was obviously a grande hotel in its day. A beautiful chandelier in the hallway and the wide wooden staircase took me back in time. The rooms were spacious, was clean. The beds were comfortable.
The location for auronzo was great! We loved that we arrived to a local food festival and had a wonderful time. Perfect base for hiking. It's a little dated and worn but it also has charm. We loved this little haven in a sleepy mountain village.
There wasn't much not to like, it just needs a little TLC.
Nice little pizza place underneath and a charming old town
Toilet was to cramped between tub and wall
