The homey feel of the building has not been lost with the restoration and as a hotel it still retains its former character and features. Half an hour away you'll find 6 golf course, 3 Thalassotherapy spas and walking paths, as well as the cities of San Sebastian, Fuenterrabia, Biarritz, Hendaye and Saint Jean De Luz. The closest airports are Biarritz or San Sebastian.

Pros +
- Amazing hotel in Bera, outside of Donostia. The hotel room, sofas in the waiting room, and paintings are great. Hotel receptionist was extraordinarily accommodating. We loved Basque region in our Spain trip.
- Sitting room near the reception was awesome. The young receptionist guy was friendly and helpful.
- This was a quaint old building in a quaint old town in the mountains. The hotel has bags of character and the personal touch from the staff. The room was up two floors (no lift) with creaky, uneven floors and shutters on the windows (instead of curtains/blinds). There was a fridge and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was a bit limited in choice but good enough for what we wanted. Plenty of on-site parking.
Cons -
- The AC was missing. Not sure how it would feel in summertime.
- No AC in the room. There was a ventilator inside the room.
- The room was chilly - the radiator didn't seem to work.

The best parts were the antique building, the relaxing atmosphere, and the staff. The breakfast was also really satisfying. It's great value for money.
To ne honest, I can't think of a single thing I didn't enjoy from my stay in this hotel.
A lovely old building with lots of character. Very comfortable, convenient location.
Good location in a pretty town Large room with Great south facing terrace !Good food in the popular restaurant !Good buffet Breakfast
The bed was rather hard and uncomfortable!Front Door was quite noisy!
Beautiful old hotel. Amazing staff. Amazing location.
A little noisy by the street. A little uncomfortable in the beds and under the beds need a good cleaning.
We were in a suite, which was lovely. Well appointmented, nice views, lovely paintings and bathroom was large and nice. Views from all windows overlooking the village, the gardens. Close to restaurants and bars. Their restaurant was very good. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and lovely . Remember to book their restaurant if you are there on weekends as it gets very busy.
The staff are good and family friendly, the breakfast is good. and room is clean and authentic :)
Elevator is little small
This place is highly recommended. We stayed at Churrut for 3 nights. The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere, with a somewhat dated but very characteristic interior. The breakfast and the diners were of an excellent quality. The hotel staff proved very helpful in getting us the best room available. During our last night in the hotel we experienced a false fire alarm. To compensate us for this the hotel gave us a considerable reduction on the agreed tariff and costs for meals. The hotel staff is to be complemented for this!
Very nice Hotel, old charming rooms quiet and clean. They offer a good breakfast buffet. If possible reserve a table for Dinner!
Good location and parking. Really friendly, helpful staff. Delicious food- breakfast and the dinner (a 25 Euro menu including wine)
Lovely old hotel. Comfortable with lots of charm and character. Excellent restaurant. Great base to explore the area.
The carpark can get busy in the middle of the day, but there is no big drama.
Enormous room full of old school charm and wonderful restaurant on site. Very large and private balcony. Great breakfast. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Great stay for cyclists.
Excellent (old school) hotel and very friendly and helpful staff.
Can hear the people in the room above.
Wonderful building, castle-like atmosphere, as if we were in the Middle Ages. The staff was nice. The room is spacious and a bit noisy due to the floor, but very stylish. We could read about the history of the house. The gazebo was wonderful even in the rain.
Dinner was not outstanding, nor was breakfast. There was no regular bread selection, there were many sweet pastries, fruits and eggs. We expected more homemade flavors.
Bera is a town situated in the province of Navarre, northern Spain. The town is traversed by the river Bidasoa before it enters Gipuzkoa at Endarlatsa, eventually flowing into the Cantabrian Sea between the towns of Hendaye and Hondarribia. The historic 18th Century building Hotel Churrut is located within the picturesque village Vera de Bidasoa-Bera - the family Churrut home exudes period charm providing a comfortable tranquil stay. The Junior suite offers the balcony overlooking the garden and the spectacular Basque Pyrenees mountains also furnished a comfortable King size bed and spacious bath/shower room. The Churrut Family Hotel personnel provided friendly helpful attentive service ensuring we felt special during our stay. Breakfast 0800-1000hrs was a sumptuous Spanish Buffet of local and home-made produce served in the sun-room overlooking the garden and the hotel restaurant set in the old blacksmith's workshop, serving traditional Navarin specialities.
The Junior Suite was rather tired in great need of refurbishment ensuring the Boho décor in the hotel is reflected with the antique furniture with modern vintage chintz creating the shabby chic effect. The original beams had been spoilt being painted white. The room required to be more ergonomically arranged as the room was dysfunctional with mismatched, misplaced furniture/fittings. Disappointing expected the suite to be more upmarket like the other bedrooms on the upper floor.
Very friendly helpful staff. Very nice food. Clean room. Good parking..
The fridge in my room was not working. I couldn't turn off the TV with the remote, I had to unplug it.
The staff was exceptional. I had hiked my way from Irun to Bera and during the hike I got bit by a dog. Upon arrival at the Hotel Churrut, The staff called the local medical facility and coordinated a taxi to bring me there and return. When I returned from the medical facility they provided some food because at that time all of the restaurants and stores were closed. I am very grateful for their service and support. The room was clean comfortable. I would stay there again.
Beautifull decorated. Kind personnel and a very good restaurant.
Everything was perfect.
