- Beautiful monastery, but a bit isolated. Well preserved and the rooms are exquisitely appointed.
- Unique former Monastery, fantastic history, great facilities
- Beautifully refurbished monastery in a stunning setting. Free pool and historical visit about the monastery. We had a great meal at the restaurant.
Cons -
- Because it was late September, there were no services next door and we had to go to Cangas Del Narcea to have an early coffee or go to the market or lunch, and parking is a nightmare. 20 Euro for the breakfast buffet was way to much.
- Only a minor issue the floor boards in the bedroom were very creaky and we woke up when the other used the toilet at night . A fairly long walk to the town
- Not much, it really was a fantastic place to stay.

Historically significant building with large comfortable rooms. Location close to nice villages and hikes. Good restaurant on site.
The location is pretty much out of the way - and, frankly, the town of Cangas de Narcea is not especially interesting. However, the Parador is lovely - we liked everything about it - it's what you would expect from a Parador. So, if you want to chill out in beautiful surroundings ( the countryside is spectacular) this is the place to visit and stay in.
The reception staff and dining room staff were friendly, welcoming and had a sense of humour. The hotel itself was stunning. We had a great meal in the restaurant and breakfast was good.
Not much, it really was a fantastic place to stay.
The staff was amazing...friendly and helpful. We were warmly greeted by the front desk and the restaurant staff. The building itself was beautiful and nestled in a quiet area in the forest.
Superb facility. Beautifully restored with history and character retained. Loved the room, breakfast and dinner in restaurant. Staff were lovely and always very helpful. Enjoyed the pool experience. Really glad we stayed here.
Bar was very disappointing. Unappealing. Soulless and devoid of any atmosphere. Though, staff members serving were very nice and helpful.
What an absolutely beautiful place, you can feel the sense of history in every stone and corridor. The room was perfect, lovely big bed and furnished sparsely but perfectly in keeping with the building's former purpose. The restaurant is similarly delightful and the food very high quality. Hard to recommend this place highly enough.
There's nothing not to like.
Fantastic Parador with comfortable bedrooms and good restaurant. Safe parking outside and in a beautiful part of Spain. We had dinner and breakfast and everything was very good.Would recommend and definitely return.
This is a beautiful, very large parador opened around 2013. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The rooms and bathrooms are huge and we booked a standard room. Food was good in the restaurant and in the bar. Do take the tour of the parador and the church offered every day at 10:30. Great location, you can walk 20 minutes to Cangas del Narcea or take a hiking trail just across the road from the parador, you will see a trail sign. We walked to Puleo, easy and quiet walk through the woods. Parking is just outside or in the garage. This was all around a very good stay.
Unfortunately the beds are awful. Very uncomfortable and are not attached to the wall. So if you lean against the wall the bed slides out! The mattresses need to be replaced and beds secured. (we were in room 302)Also umbrellas should be available in every room or made available to anyone at reception. This is Asturias after all and not everyone travels with one.
Beautiful hotel - loved the history. Lovely big room with really comfortable beds. Excellent food in the restaurant.
There was nothing we didnt like
Great room, stunning building, guided tour of the building
Less choice of gluten free and lactose free products than at other Paradores
Comfortable. Impressive building
So large and too busy when we were there, no room in dining room the first night and the cafeteria staff were stressed because it was so busy. The food my husband had that first night was poor (tough meat and cold ) but on complaining they waived the cost . The reception staff were very helpful at all times .
Amazing mountain location, rooms and food were superb, staff friendly and helpful.
Building, history, staff, room.
Restaurant - food good, but lacked atmosphere and menu limited
Tremendous accommodation- very comfortable, excellent breakfast and staff, big car park
Breakfast was very good although the decor didn't match the over place. A lovely , historic hotel. Good for walkers. Dinner was good. Lovely modern rooms, well decorated although the lighting system was too complicated.
Lovely historic building.. large rooms and great parking.
The noise and extremely loud music from the wedding that was on .. poor/slow bar and restaurant service due to overwhelmed/stressed staff likely as a result of the large wedding function. It really does lacks a cosy atmosphere and whilst the inner courtyard has a stunning tree it is decidedly lacking in places to sit for a drink. having come from the Parador at Onís this was a disappointing stay.
Loved this monastry and the extraordinarily sympathetic way it had been restored. Intrigued by the individual names given to each bedroom and the pair of clogs placed in the corridor outside each. The free underground parking, the lift access from the parking up to all floors and the 'museum' created next to the parkiing showing the original walls and samples of bricks and other artefacts form the days it was built as a monastry. The evening drink in the shade of the inner courtyard accessed directly from the bar. Above all, "Covi" the super helpful and welcoming receptionist who should receive recognition for her great love of the monastry and enthusiasm for it. She was equally lovely on our departure the next day!
The somewhat surley girl running the bar and the fact that we didn't have any "flip-flops" which, according to signage, were required if we wished to use the pool. But neither of these minor irritations spoiled our stay here.
