- Pool was amazing. Staff were super friendly and beds were comfy
- great friendliness from staff, beautiful view from the breakfast hall, good choices for breakfast, clean modern bathroom, beautiful surroundings, walk away from nice spots. I read about it needing restoration, but i think they prioritized well by having the bathrooms, swimming pool, sauna, breakfast hall all very renovated, leaving some old carpets en creaky stairs for later. it is charming in a way. very nice to be able to enter sauna-swimming pool until 00:00
- Tasty dinner and breakfast! The people at the reception and in the restaurant were amazing — especially the Polish woman in the restaurant who gave us a lot of great advice. The pool was also great.
Cons -
- Breakfast didn't have much variety. However, it did taste good and egg chef made us great omelettes. Also, hotel was a bit overpriced
- the beds are very soft, but for one night not a problem
- The hamam was not hot enough.

Staff was friendly
The bed was really soft and hurt my back a lot. Breakfast was average in options.
the breakfast was great, the pool clean and good size!
the mattress in our room was old and not comfortable to sleep on
Attentive staff. *****
Smoke drifting into the breakfast area because the employee break area is just outside . The problem can be solved by always keeping the back door closed .
Boutique hotel, nice and cozy
There is a spa in the hotel, when I asked for a bathrobe and slippers they asked for rental moneyAlso there was a large blood spot under the bathroom sink
We had a mixed experience at Parkhotel ValkenburgThe hotel has a lot of potential. It’s beautifully located in the hills of Valkenburg, and the historic architecture gives it a charming atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the surroundings and easy access to local attractions.
Unfortunately, our experience with the family room was disappointing. The room was not very clean — to our surprise, we even found an entire moldy bread bun on one of the lamps. In addition, the room showed many signs of wear and tear. While we understand that family rooms are often used by children, the state of the room felt more like neglect than normal use. A thorough cleaning and some maintenance are definitely needed. Especially for the price. Also, you have to pay extra if you need an extra towel or bathrobe for swimming. The swimming pool could also benefit some maintenance.
Good location, historic building. Spa was not busy.
Bed and pillows were not comfortable. Some renovations might be due.
Breakfast here is really great and the breakfast staff friendly and attentive. The reception had both friendly helpful staff and one not so friendly. The hotel location is great. Walking one direction you reach the center of town easily and a short distance and the other direction there is a nature park/lake nearby.
I wanted to give this hotel a second chance because my partner and I wanted a relaxing spa weekend. I would not call this a spa hotel as it seems to be more of a play pool for kids. I wouldn't come here if you want a relaxing holiday.
The swimming pool and the bubble bath were nice. Not crowded and at good temperature (could be a bit higher)Very comfortable beds and breakfast was with a nice view. A good hotel if you love historical places
It might need a renovation. The wall had a few dents in the hotel roomThe hairdryer could not really keep up and there were no power sockets next to the bed
efficient and helpful staff ! Recent power washing and collection of discarded cigarette butts on the pool terrace is a plus !
Easy walk into town. Staff very friendly. Easy parking.
No complaints
Marvelous hotel in Valkenburg with helpful staff, nice swimming pool, comfortable and clean rooms and absolutely great breakfast. Very content.
The entrance indication was a bit confusing. Temperature of the sauna could be slightly higher.
Spa, a hot tub, sauna, the view from the room and the view from the terrace next to the swimming pool were amazing. I enjoyed every minute of the stay!
Call us old fashioned, but we like a traditional double bed, rather than two mattresses put together. The very helpful receptionist arranged for us to change rooms once we had realised the bed arrangements. Your system said the new room would be a double bed but it was just the same. I didn’t bother to ask for a move again. The evening meal was also very average, and the area seemed to be short staffed as it took us 20 minutes of sitting at the bar to order a drink. Such a shame, as a solo traveler I stayed last year and was so impressed with the staff and facilities I decided to bring my partner here as a treat. The experience was no where near as good.
The hotel is a building with a history (apparently a former convent). The rooms are spacious and the decoration rather typical. Of course, fans of aseptic, modern hotels will be disappointed. There are sometimes dents in the walls, and the furniture is not always very young. Our room was spacious and the wellness area very pleasant. The free car park is appreciated. In my opinion, the main strength is the quality of the welcome. Selma was perfect: smiling, attentive and proactive. Impeccable! The breakfast was just what we expected.
The only downside for me was the evening meal in the restaurant. Two unremarkable cocktails (very sweet and not fresh enough) before a three-course menu. There was little choice. Three starters, three main courses, three desserts. Although the plates were beautifully presented, the flavours were often overpowered by unoriginal sauces. I don't think the quality of the food is worth the price. What a shame! We'll be coming back only for the hotel.
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery that surrounded the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and I loved the cappucino‘s but surely the nice and helpful staff!!
Leaving
We had a nice time at the pool and sauna which was nearly empty (on a sunny day).
The facilities are a bit old but everything was working all right.
Ambience, location, staff, bike facilities, cleanliness, breakfast room
Bike facilities were for restricted number of bikes (staff immediately found an alternative solution), hotel perhaps in need for a small renovation
