    Pros +

    • The history of the hotel, the breakfast is superb, parking is good, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained by the housekeeping. The location is excellent for shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Loads of attractions and really friendly people who provide great service in around the town. We happen to stumble across their 5 day carnival and had a super time watching the festivities. Valkenburg is a great place to stay and to visit.
    • Great service, nice rooms and nice breakfast! Location is perfect to walk from the station and we were able to put our bags away and come back after which was nice :)
    • We arrived by train and the walk to the hotel was easy, as was the walk into town. The building is beautiful, with original features remaining even after modernization. The restaurant does an excellent job-great food. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We had four nights here and were able to visit Liege, Aachen and Maastrict using this as our base. Hope to visit again.

    Cons -

    • The casting on the TV was very confusing, took us a while to understand but eventually did work. A conditioner bottle would have been nice next to the shampoo. The breakfast is nice but the choices aren’t too varied, don’t expect a huge buffet.
    • The bed was very uncomfortable (too soft)
    • Hotel room tired and cold

The bed was very uncomfortable (too soft)

Beautiful rooms, very stylish, huge bath tub. Location is perfect, close to everything there is to do in Valkenburg, but also a stone's throw from the station so it's super easy to get to Maastricht.

    Fantastic location.

    Hotel room tired and cold

    Great design , great location

Very grumpy not welcoming staff , nor at the reception nor in the dining area , we don’t expect bells and whistle but cordial and welcoming is a minimum that was not met

I loved the hotel, quite chique, although some fixing needs to be done in my view to get a higher rating from me. What I did not like are just small things and too small to complain about them.

    * The room door did not close by itself* The walls need a new paint, it is peeling in full sight, but especially behind the curtains* Only two small lights in the whole room is not much, so I had to turn on the big light, which is a bit too bright for my taste

    The location, ambience and food.

The rooms need a little TLC.

Great location, easy parking, very quiet up on the 3rd floor. Lovely decor throughout, preserving history too.

There was no sofa to sit on, just bar stools. The check in was unmanned when we arrived so I needed to grab attention from the restaurant staff through a window to get in.

Location was good, staff were very accommodating

It felt cold and not very cosy. There were weird marks all over the walls and a lot of the furniture was scuffed and needed replacing or repairing. The door to our room didn’t close properly.

Great room, clean and tidy with modern bathroom! The restaurant is a huge plus! Very well done! For some more cheaper alternatives your 5 min walk away from all the restaurants Valkenburg has to offer.

Beautiful old building but will all the modern cons , was in a perfect location to the town and secure parking for our motorbike

    7PropellanthealthPosted on: 7-16-2025

    Pleasant building - old convent.

Air conditioning in the room. Cold downstairs where the bed is, too hot in the bathroom, up the stairs.

    9SanjaPosted on: 7-10-2025

We were truly impressed by the building itself – the design, the bar, and the location are absolutely beautiful. The staff provided phenomenal service, everything was very clean, and the bathroom was especially nice and well-maintained.

What we absolutely didn’t like was the bed – more specifically, the mattress. We're usually not picky when it comes to sleeping, but something was definitely off with the one in our room. There were also a few minor flaws in the room, but due to the layout and structure, we understand those limitations. Still, we enjoyed our stay very much, as both the interior and exterior of the hotel gave the feeling of being in a modern-day castle.

The building is really beautiful, well-maintained and modernized on the inside. Location is also very convenient, just 5 minutes walk to the center and the train station. It’s very quiet and no nice can be heard from the outside. The room was spacious enough. High ceilinged rooms and huge windows with lots of light. We liked that the toilet is separated from the bathroom. During the breakfast, chai latte on their coffee machine was a pleasant surprise! All staff and personnel were all friendly and helpful. Their mojito was quite refreshing after a full day out. ?

Breakfast buffet was nice but quite pricey for what you get. While the toilet was quite spacious but the bathroom was a little cramped. The shower area doesn’t have a door so the water splashed everywhere. The curtains weren’t fully blacked out curtains so the morning light woke us up early.

This is a beautiful, heavenly-themed new hotel with a lovely Team an very nice located close to the city center of recommended destination Valkenburg. It is neatly renovated and has a good size parking opportunity.

The rooms are beautiful and have everything one needs. The room arrangement I was in was a little "adventurous" having a stairway in it to reach the bed. Fun, but for my personal taste I would have preferred all on one level. Yet, it gave an extra bit of charme.

    9BenPosted on: 4-22-2025

Breakfast was very good, fresh with plenty of choice

maybe a second coffee machine. The 1 could get busy when Hotel full

    9JflutzPosted on: 4-13-2025

very good location next to historic center, historic building nicely renovated

    7NewcombePosted on: 3-29-2025

Modern finishes thoughout the hotel in a lovely building and situated in a wonderful location. Staff were extrememly helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable, interesting and unique.

Paying extra for parking and breakfast were options which made us think twice. We paid for the parking but were not happy to do so. We decided to have breakfast elsewhere. One thing I always enjoy when staying at a hotel is a nice continental breakfast (included). In the room, the choices for coffee and tea were limited.
