Pros +
- Location was excellent. Staff was very nice, helpful.
- My room was very spacious and the bed was especially comfortable--and I'm "picky" about mattresses. It was nice to have a desk so I could work more easily on my computer in the mornings. The hotel is located close to numerous places to eat and shop and several city attractions. Reception staff was very receptive to questions and helpful in recommending places to eat that weren't too far away (I was dealing with tendinitis in a foot) and helping me chart the quickest routes to places I wanted to see. Breakfast included numerous choices of protein, fruit, cereals, and breads as well as tea, coffee, and juices. It was especially nice when I was tired to be able to simply cross the street to Tarte de Julie for lunch on two occasions and have their excellent quiches and salads.
- location and staff were excellent. the hotel shows it’s age. my room was fine and most importantly the bed was very very comfortable and that mattered alot. the breakfast room was very nice and a decent enough buffet spread.
Cons -
- The room was rather small and cramped. There was no place to store our luggage. Cups in the room were paper (ugh). The corridor was dark and gloomy, in fact rather depressing. Upon opening the door, there is a step within 2 feet just inside the door, to enter into the room. We were not warned that it was there and first time in, I went flying, luckily did not break anything. They should warn people as they sign in about that step! Sorry to say, it felt more like a 3 star, definitely not a 4 star hotel.
- While the problem was quickly solved, I'm shorter than average, and the safe in my room was considerably higher than I could reach. When I reported this to reception, they put my camera and passport in their safe and called a staff member who came later that morning to relocate the safe at a height I could manage :-). As a person with allergies, I found the honey-scented shower products way too strong for me, though I'm sure others enjoyed them. It would nice if the hotel had some unscented products such as bar soap available for people with allergies.
- the carpets were dingy and worn as were the upholstery on the couch and chairs in my room but this would not necessarily prevent me from returning.

The 'welcome' or 'accueil' was one of the best we have ever encountered. Laetitia (sp?) and then the next day Laure were outstanding. They should teach hotel school. They made every effort to help us with our stay, parking, places to visit, logistics with leaving luggage and car for additional hours, extremely clear parking instructions, and all with a smile and good will. I cannot say enough good things. The hotel is located in the center of old town Bayonne, walking distance to everything. So stash your car in the parking garage and walk everywhere. Despite the central location, our room was absolutely quiet. Wonderful!
I liked everything.
The receptionist was very nice, friendly and very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located. It is quiet. The rooms are quite large and very comfortable. The breakfast is supposed to be very good but due to our long flight we over slept and missed it. For our first time in France, it was perfect.
Location was great.
Wifi was weak. It says “Its high speed for members but slow for the others”. Strange. I didnt understand that policy. Especially after ı pay that money
Location. Lobby area is beautiful.
Carpets make it feel dirty. You dont see dirt. No outdoor space. No real bar (must order drinks from hotel front desk) and restaurant is only for bfast.
We go to Bayonne once a year and this is the hotel we always stay in. Love the staff, the size of the rooms and the loca
The hotel is well located on the edge of the old town and very nice. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and a nice size
The hotel was ideally located, with comfortable rooms and helpful staff.
Room was large. Nice view of the street and other old buildings. Parking was a little hard to find, but it was easy to park outside and drop the bags off first.
Room was run down. But I enjoyed the old features.
The TL;DR here is that the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent, the location is absolutely outstanding, and the rooms are nice but a bit tight. It appears that various tours know about this hotel, and will book their people into it, or take advantage of the great continental breakfast. The old-school elevator is kind of fun. Our room had a view of the cathedral, which I really enjoyed.
The refrigerator barely worked, but the staff did try to fix it for us. I also broke a light bulb accidentally, and it was fixed immediately with no charge.
Location, Staff, room size
Plumbing noise from adjoining rooms during the night
Very friendly staff. Hôtel in excellent location. Clean comfortable room and very welcoming to our dog.
Clean comfortable and stylish. Close to restaurants and bars. Good breakfast as well.
The staff were exceptional; very helpful and professional. The hotel itself was very central and the car parking facilities were also close by.
Can't fault the hotel. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The girl on reception very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.
Nothing - everything was perfect
location and reception facilities excellent, rooms clean and comfortable
breakfast room a little small when all guests are attending at same time period, bathrooms a little dated but function well,no drinks fridge in room
Great location and the ambiance of a boutique historic hotel. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfasts were fresh and ample.
location, room was quiet and comfortable with a view of the town. Breakfast was a very nice selection.
