Great location in the city center. Room was not on the street side so it was very quiet apart from doors opening and closing in hallway but people in hotel were respectful so it wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was really good too with fresh products. The hotel is extremely clean!!
Bedding could use an upgrade. Pillow was unusable. Water in shower was unstable between burning hot and freezing cold.
I forgot a shirt and a jacket and I could recover them a month later
It's in the best street in the old town
The bathroom (shared) was on the next floor down. The price was far too high for what was on offer
Nothing. The host made this a very unpleasant experience.
Our bus was cancelled so we were late. I phoned three times to inform the host but only got an answering machine in French. I left messages explaining that we would arrive at 9pm and gave contact details. When we arrived he refused to answer the door until the neighboring restaurant owner called him. He then refused to acknowledge our booking and only let us in when I presented him with proof of payment! All the time he was incredibly rude and insulting! To top that the room was minute, had no fan on a very hot night and the toilet was broken. A thoroughly unpleasant stay!
Fabulous location, beautiful hotel tastefully decorated.
The staff were polite but not friendly.
Location and the hotel was clean.
Very uncomfortable bed. The shower was up a step, which is dangerous. The shower head holder was broken. The toilet seat was old and broken. The sink was cracked. Early morning in the dark there were hardly any lights in the corridors. No marked fire escapes. The wi fi was appalling.
Location
Pillow horrible, only one electric outlet, poor lighting. Never saw staff.
Character filled old hotel and the host and dogs were very friendly!
Only one power outlet in the room not close to the bed so charging phone was a hassle - was comfortable enough but very expensive in comparison to much more modern and well appointed accommodation I had in France
Very authentic place on the main street, central location. No parking (nearest parking 6 min to walk, price eur 22 per day).
I guess it is very humid in Bayonne in general, that is why it was humid in the room as well and in the morning we just wanted to open the door in order to get some fresh air.
Location was great. The room was clean. Host was welcoming. Breakfast room was very nicely decorated.
The room was small with with paper thin walls.
Excellent location close to the Cathedral on popular street with bars and restaurants.
We knew there we shared toilet/shower facilities as we were looking for a budget option. However there is only one very tiny bathroom that has both the toilet and a small shower cubicle and no washbasin. So if another guest is using the shower no toilet avail and you cant wash your hands until you get back to the room.
It is not modern, but it has character! It functions properly, clean.and the location is excellent.
We had the top floor and there are a lot of floors, we are in our sixties and it did not bother us, but obviously this could be a problem for others.
Great location, the best. Quirky classically french decor.Room fan ok, but room stuffy and airless. Breakfast was good except for the inclusion of dogs around your feet whilst eating, not acceptable. Staff friendly.
Room dingy, lack of natural light and ventilation. No electrical outlets to charge mobiles etc, TV small and useless unless French or Spanish. Room size small but unlike some had a toilet and shower. Shower temperature fluctuations from cold to scolding. Paper cups for drinking instead of a cheap washable glass. Towels average. Noise from others waste pipes. Bed small double but bedding sheets and blanket.wifi switched off at 7pm!! with no access to internet or mobile data. Not acceptable.
The floor was very uneven. No shower in the room. The shower at the end of corridor - one for few different rooms. The furniture in the room looks like taken from the cheap second-hand store. no wi-fi information, no pot for morning coffee. For the price per night, 78 Euros, the hotel administration could provide better room and service.
Everything. However, the administration office looked very big and with nice furniture. I would suggest to equip the room for the guest with better furniture.
Location was fantastic
Poor breakfasts, bedside lighting inadequate, no air from outside available.
