Universal Boutique Hotel

I've learned that beds in Portugal are in the firm side, but the bed in our room here was so hard it was like sleeping on a box spring

The location was perfect! We were 1 block from the beach and could see it from our window when you looked out the side! The room was a nice size for 2 with a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was great too!The staff was very helpful with suggestions on places to eat and to see! The hotel is Beautiful!

our room was in the far corner of the hotel and so the wifi didn't reach us very well. We were able to use it in the lobby.

We liked the location, that our room had a balcony and sea view. We also liked the size of our room.and the bed was very comfy. The staff were very kind. Always available if needed. Would definitely recommend.

Only negative we could think of was we were a little concerned about the toilet. It had a little bit of wiggle room when you sat down. Maybe just needs a little maintenance..

We’re in off season and could easily park our car at street. In summer it will be hectic I guess.

We took the room with balcony at top floor but all walls were not straight and we have at least 2-3 times hit our head at one of the walls maybe after one day you’re used to it but we had only one day. ;) better take some other rooms if not at summer. Hotel was perfect.

The breakfast was uninspiring. A long time since I have seen tinned fruit! There was some fresh too. Only hotel in our stay without fresh pastries. Sensible to have tissues in a hotel room.

Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly & helpful. The hotel was well located to walk around the town and well situated to walk to the beautiful beach. The room was clean & comfortable- the lounge area & glass floor looking down to the breakfast room gave it the ‘boutique’ vibe. Breakfast was basic but adequate.

We experienced a minor problem with the car parking facility - a space was allocated to us however someone else was parking there so we had a bit of wasted time trying to sort that out with reception. It wasn’t the hotels fault that people can’t follow basic instructions as to which parking bay to use… but again staff were apologetic & helpful.

Great location and fabulous room (top floor with balcony). The two ladies in reception were lovely - showing much patience and humour with my attempted Portugese. Bike was stored safely. Breakfast was great. Great stay / made by the reception ladies. ❤️

Excellent location and friendly staff. Well decorated and cosy atmosphere. Very comfortable bed.

Room size was very small and looked much bigger in the photos. Breakfast was rather poor and a disappointment. A shelf in the shower for toiletries would be nice.

OK hotel rude service

Staff were unfriendly, we booked thru booking.com 2 single beds, they gave us a double. When we asked they argued that we got what we requested and refused to change or consider change. Its clearly an issue between the website and hotel, which for a last minute booking I accept can happen. But in a service industry there can be no room for rudeness or failure to be helpful. I will not be using this hotel or chain again.

Excellent location, sympathetic staff, attention to detail.

We loved the size of the room and the balcony was a nice added touch. Their lounge downstairs was very cosy and a nice place to work from. Very well located with good options for food/drink.

Paying for coffee/tea usage in the room was strange considering it’s a “boutique” hotel. It also would have been nice to have a proper espresso machine in the lobby bar instead of the push button instant one. It was still a lovely stay overall.

Breakfast not included, but plenty of places to eat within a few hundred yards. Staff very helpful, and although there is very little parking space in the vicinity, they were able to show me where I could leave my motorcycle safely and legally. The room was on the top floor and was spacious and comfortable. An old fashioned seaside resort with a huge beach and lots of places to while away the time. Make sure you read the notice in reception as it gives details about free welcome drink and discounts at some restaurants. I read it as we were leaving!!

Lovely boutique hotel, with well appointed rooms and bar. Balcony well worth the extra few Euros. Staff exceptional, friendly and professional. Great value for money.

The toilet didn't flush. You had to hit the lever hard several times to get the toilet to flush. Reception thought this was an acceptable solution! The room we saw on the website, a deluxe twin with balcony was roomy and had a sofa in it and a coffee machine and a kettle. Our room was tiny, had no sofa. It had a slanting roof and you hit your head on it when you walked past the end of the rather hard bed. The pods for the coffee machine were a £1 each from reception.

The room was quite small, and old style. Very sad green-painted walls, not enough light in the room, it was difficult to open the curtains. Very sad green-painted, small bathroom, with no additional light above the mirror. It was quite dark and difficult to even do make-up. You could hear the noise from the street. Hairdarayer had only cold air, it was difficult to dry your hair, water has not been provided even on day one, of course, there was a bottle in the room but you have been asked to pay 1 eur if you wanted to drink it. Breakfast was very basic, not too much choice.
