Dona Maria Hotel

Comfortable and cosy, nice staff and good location

The hotel is newly refurbished and the rooms are really lovely.We stayed on a quiet day and were the only people at Breakfast. The front desk staff were excellent and gave a great recommendation for dinner.We visited the salt marshes and followed the well signed walk fromThe salt museum, this was a wonderful way to experience nature, a highlight was being invited to have coffee with 2 of the locals who farm the salt.

The breakfast quality control needs to be tighter based on our experience.

Some great local hospitality at it’s very best. Comfy bed and good quality bedding/linen.

Somewhat not surprising the Standard Double bedroom is minimal in size with a bathroom the size of a shoebox but all still very functional.

Very nice little hotel in the middle of old town at the small harbour. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms very very nice and the atmosphere of the hotel was great. Breakfast was very good, great selection.

Centrally located and close to everything. Absolutely fantastic. And what makes it exceptional is the staff. Each and every single one of them. Never come across such incredible human beings. Very humbling.

The staff, the location, the breakfast, The bar is very comfortable and provides drinks and light meals at reasonable prices

The lighting in the room is bad, the closet is very small, the safe is not fixed and opens upwards, which interferes with storage. The faucets are outdated (a separate faucet for cold water and a separate one for hot water). The air conditioner stops working after a while and needs to be restarted

Amazing place to stay, very nice and helpful staff, we were on the special occasion and received maximum attention there. Room was clean, tidy with everything you might need. We had a rental car, though if you're traveling without a car everything is accessible by foot. You'll find nice traditional cafés and restaurants just 2-3 min. by foot. Beach is also accessible by foot. Special thanks for the shifts operating in Dona Maria while during our stay!

Perfectly situated. New hotel right in the centre of town. Close to everything- and the staff. Incredible each and every single one of them. They couldn’t do more for me if they tried. Never have I come acroos such kindness and professionalism in a hotels staff. Wow wow wow. You know how to run this fine establishment and you know how to make guests feel at home. Thank you

Clean comfy beds, nice cosy environment.

Some noise heard from the corridors in the bedroom. Plus bright flashing green led fire alarm light, but adding a small sticker soon fixed that!

The breakfast was good with a view, the room and bathroom was in very good condition and a beautifully decorated

We didn't have any chance with the weather, but that was not Your fault :)

It's newly opened so a few short term teething problems. Their Spa therapist never seems available so either don't offer or change the contract Secondly no parling is available and you have to feed a street meter every two hours or park in a free area up the hills above the hotel. Neither is good

All the staff were very friendly and helpful.The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was well laid out. A hair dryer and hair straightener for the ladies. Breakfast was good quality with freshly squeezed OJ.

With the originally booked room with $92 bit overpriced for Portuguse standards, nevertheless we got an upgrade which made it more reasonable.

Clean and comfortable

Room was smaller than I expected. Breakfast was expensive for what it was.

The hotel was great, the staff attentive and helpful. Cleanliness was an 11. The room was very comfortable and spacious. All very good. A Hotel I will choose in the future.

My only small request is to broaden the breakfast offering. I like some vegetables with my scrambled egg. Some simple additions might be? Fried Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Spinach, Dark Brazilian beans please (Feijao preto)
