Really horrible hotel on every level

Dirty, small, old, smelly and truly horrible staff. The room has absolutely nothing (toothpaste, toilet paper etc.) and super unhelpful staff. Stay far away

The hotel is located in an excellent location for cyclists along the Loire river with a secure bicycle parking area. Extremely friendly receptionist

Location by the loire and right on the EuroVelo 6 and Loire au Velo routes. There was a safe place to keep our bikes. We were able to bike to Sancerre to explore after we checked in. Good breakfast. Several restaurants and a boulangerie were within walking distance.

A major road across the Loire is next to the hotel so the corner room we had was noisy. It was also hard to get to at the end of a dark narrow hall. The stairs from the lobby were steep with shallow steps.

Great choice, good location, clean stylishly decorated room, nice shower. Secure Bicycle parking.

Breakfast very poor and checkout was complicated, they tried to charge me twice for the room.

Liked the location

Breakfast was the most sparse we've seen since travelling by bike for 5 weeks. It was terrible, very minimal selection. We arrived at 2:00pm cold and wet, as we were cycling and it was raining outside. We were unable to check in until 3:00. Restaurants and bar close at 2:30, so we had to wait outside... ?

Really welcoming staff, secure parking, view from the room, quirky decor.

Only really one restaurant in walking distance as one was closed for the week.

The location on the banks of the Loire and a few km from the lovely town of Sancerre is excellent. Our room looked out over the river and was very spacious and furnished to a high standard with antique furniture (so much more comfortable than modern hotels). The young man who greeted us was extremely smartly dressed and without being asked assisted us with our luggage. He was extremely helpful and we felt comfortable and at home immediately. The breakfast room was exceptionally clean and the breakfast itself moe than adequate. We will definitely book again we enjoyed our short stay so much.

Possibly a small fridge in the room would have been useful, but its not really an issue for us. Otherwise nothing

Easy to find with good local parking. Although an older building it is very traditional and charming with excellent, helpful staff. Breakfast was good quality.

The staircase to the rooms is narrow for carrying larger luggage.

The hotel was easy to find and had free parking outside. The breakfast was great, as was the very helpful member of staff serving us.

I thought the hotel was actually in Sancerre when I booked it, it is actually located 2 miles outside of Sancerre. Our room was a bit tired, decorated oddly as an African safari room and the ensuite shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. I think 3 stars would be a generous grading for this hotel.

Every aspect was a delight, from the location so close to the Loire to the manager who booked us a table for dinner to the super clean comfortable room to the delicious breakfast personally served the next morning. We loved this stay!

Riverside hotel overlooking the Loire. Comfortable room, very helpful staff and easy parking. There is an excellent restaurant opposite the hotel - highly recommended.

Cannot think of anything not to like

A very welcoming hotel, firstly a very polite, friendly and professional young man at reception (we chatted about football). The room was large and airy, clean and with character (no identikit corporate style here). There was a space to store my bike overnight, and parking available or easy to find on the street for those in a car. It is literally on the eurovelo 6/ Nevers to Orléans cycle route so no deviation necessary, which allowed me to leave my stuff in my room and then cycle up the massive hill to visit Sancerre without having to lug everything up. There's no evening restaurant but there are some places around the hotel or lots of choice in Sancerre. Breakfast was nice with a good choice typical for this level of hotel and a fair price. Discounted for children I think. Can completely recommend, especially for cyclists due to its location.

Staff were so helpful. We had terrible rain and bikes to deal with. The staff were so thoughtful.
