Hotell Gyllene Hornet

It was out in the countryside where it was peaceful. It was also near Dalhalla where I attended a concert.

No taxis nearby and no shuttle service to/from the train station. Their shuttle was in the shop the week I was staying there.

The breakfast buffet was great, a variety of options and of good quality.

The rooms are a bit old, which is nice, but they need better maintenance.

I liked that there was a pool and sauna

The pool was too cold and the Saturday buffet was a bit too expensive for the quality

Only buffet as an alternative for dinner. A small a la carte menu or at least one alternative dish would have been nice.

Outdated room not so clean. For the price I payed I would have expected cleaner room. Also absolutely no amenities.

Property and surroundings are quaint and nice. Room was simple but big enough and clean. We had a pretty view towards the lake. The breakfast was your standard buffet selection but comprehensive and tasty. The breakfast area was very nice. Good selection of teas available even throughout the rest of the day.

It smelled pretty musty in the corridor in our wing. The room had very strong cleaning liquid or similar chemical odor. It’s very bright in the room in the morning as there are no blackout curtains. Soundproofing is very bad and you can hear the people in the adjacent room. Also, our room was above the breakfast area so it got very noisy after 7 am when the staff was moving around furniture and such. Earplugs and sleeping mask are recommended.

Gyllene Hornet is a paradise for families, the pool and sauna were amazing, the kids play room and all the games available in the lobby too. Great breakfast and beautiful location.

Nothing, all good, just a recommendation, to check with the restaurant for the different options, as during weekdays it could happen they serve one type of main course only.

The hotel have a lot of alternatives, from a nice swimming pool to kids playrooms and nice rooms with books and board games. The breakfast is very well prepared with a lot of options. The ambiance is very cozy and they serve a very good fika in the afternoon.

The room was small for a family with 2 kids and need some renovation.Also, the internet was quite slow, and the streaming service using your one phone was not working properly.Our most negative surprise was the dinner. The food was ok, but the price was astronomical for the quality. There is a single option each day and at the menu the price was not mentioned…maybe the buffet option could be better.

This hotell was a positive surprise. Our Christmas plans fell apart as our relatives got cold so we booked an alternative Christmas in this hotell. It is kind a charming place with mix of features from 70's upp to the modern style. Some parts are a bit run down but the hotell will take care of you and the stay is enjoyable.The breakfast was good. Plenty of options.The key feature of this hotell are many public areas with armchairs, sofas, small tables, nice music and cozy environment. There is a lounge with books and board games, 2 playrooms for the kids, free coffee and candy. It is not meant to stay in the room but rather to gather in some of there areas and chill.The staff is very nice and they are fixing everything.Our kids loved the pool with sauna and they got their Christmas gifts were put under one of the Christmas trees that were there.

The family room in the main building has two beds, one extra bed and a crib on request (or perhaps another extra bed). It definitely is not big but as mentioned above - you are not supposed to stay there except for sleeping. On the other hand the room was within a reach of a baby monitor if you are to stay up late.

The views are spectacular and the location is superb! The breakfast was tasty and the serving times very generous. Friendly staff and a very calm atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel! Lots of bang for your buck here!

The rooms are a tad bit outdated but spacious. Although for the price range I can't really complain. Perfect for families, so lots of kids at the hotel and slightly louder volume at times.

The location is great. The pool was very nice and by Swedish standards it was not cold.

The dinner was excellent but it is a pity that you do not have any choices over the food. I am not used to red meat and had stomach troubles afterwards. The breakfast was typical for Sweden, but it did not have the extras that even Scandic usually has like smoothies. The furniture in the room was not very nice and definately not what you would expect from such an expensive hotel. We were given 2 single beds and they kept on moving apart from each other. Again, not something you would expect for a hotel in this price class. Also there was no TV.

One of the single rooms was so tiny and the view was just over a roof...A part of the facilities would need a paint and some renovations.
