Pros +
- Location was great, very nice room and the facilities overall with the spa was great.
- The wellness facilities were very relaxing and well thought out. The entire place was very clean and the sunset views were spectacular
- Old world charm, nice breakfast
Cons -
- The breakfast did not live up to the rest of the hotel and was not well organized.
- Prior to my stay I tried to schedule spa appointments which ends up involving countless back and forth and confusion about what was being booked. In person half the staff were great (Isak at the reception desk, Sara from the restaurant) and the others were quite unfriendly. The biggest issue was that we arrived on a Sunday night to a room that was over 35 degrees Celsius and the air conditioner was broken. Because there were so many mosquitos out, we could not sleep with the windows open and couldn’t sleep all night. For a room that is over 400 euros per night (junior suite with spa bath), I expect to be able to sleep each night of my stay. The engineer was able to solve the issue on Monday and we were fine after that. The bathtub in our room was quite treacherous to enter and exit, with no grab bar or slip proof mat. I understand it’s supposed to be classic, but it is such a hazard. The vegetarian food in the restaurant was uninspired and expensive. 30 euros for macaroni? The service was so slow that we never went back for dinner. Kudos to the wonderful staff member Sara who was a ray of sunshine in the restaurant.
- Small room, very tiny bathroom, noisy and loud throughout the night.

Very good
It took too long between the courses during the tasting menu. The whole dinner lasted 3 hours, which is too long.
Amazing place..its located in a beautiful area..staff are exceptional and hotel itself with the Spa is not to be missed. we'll be back for sure
The hotel is very cute & comfortable. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nice too. The restaurant staff was lovely and took great care of us too, both in the mornings and evenings. Finally, we booked hot stone massages at the spa, which were super relaxing. Alexandra did both of our treatments and she was very attentive and made sure we walked out of there in a halo of relaxation and bliss ?. There was also a gym, which I really appreciated after a few days of not being able to work out while traveling! All in all, there is clearly a lot of care put into the hotel, which we appreciated.
Nothing, it was great! Maybe a little heads up to people who like very modern design - this hotel is more on the rustic side. We loved it and it’s history, so this is more a note for people who really like very modern settings.
Reasonably comfy bed, I had a nice view on the lake from window, there is also a nice garden with lots of apple trees. The room had some water bottle, and there was a kettle to have a tea. I was there only for a short time, so I didn't use spa.
1) in the bathroom which was incredibly small, there was visible black mould in the corners! That’s not acceptable! The towel set in my room was also not the best, with only 1 body towel which was also rather small. I couldn’t find a way to turn on large shower head (I don't think it worked, there was no button or anything), so I could only use a small one. The shower only had cheap curtains which can be very unpleasant for people with sensory issues, and the shower area was so tiny that it was unavoidable that the curtain would sticks to you ... Also if you are tall/bigger person, you will be curling yourself there.2) breakfast was a disappointment. I didn’t see any good choice of fresh veggies, unless I missed them somewhere, but it generally didn’t look impressive at all for the price I paid for my stay (compared to other hotels around Europe I have been to). The worst of all, was what I saw in the “scrambled egg “ bowl, which looked like some white liquid, it was not even yellow, so I don't know what 'eggs' look like that, maybe powdered ones. Importantly, the heavy bowl pots lids in the restaurant might also be an issue for people with mobility or sensory difficulties.
The location is traditional and beautiful, breakfast with enough options, small spa a perfect start for the day
A popular place which means that it can get a bit crowded
Clean, comfortable, great location, quiet, beautiful old buildings and garden, excellent breakfast and wifi, great service, good parking, great spa with heated outside pool! Excellent value! We also were given a free upgrade.
The stairs to go up to the room were not so easy to handle with luggage. But it is a beautiful old building...
Lovely historic hotel with a new clean spa, an exceptional restaurant, exceptional hospitality. The food and drink here were a definite highlight.
The rooms felt aged and slightly retro, but it is expected in a historic hotel. Presumably they are reasonably protected by historic status, however they felt like they could do with a little bit of updating.
Nice location. Cosy rooms.
Several breakfast staff was rude. Breakfast was half empty half an hour before closing. Uncomfortable bed (old mattress).
Beautiful upscale Swedish hotel with a serious traditional vibe. Loved that they preserved the original farmhouse room.
When they suggest you get reservations for the restaurant, they are not kidding. The entire neighborhood comes in for dinner. Wonderful food and ambience.
Location
Room, bathroom and lack of Swedish speaking restaurant staff. In addition the staff was only partially knowledgeable about the food.
Excellent meals available on premises and a great breakfast as well . Very nice outdoor heated lounge pool
We had a nice stay here. Our rooms were upgraded to junior suites, which was a lovely surprise! The gym and spa were clean and tidy. The heated outdoor pool was great, especially since we happened to have great weather. We enjoyed the breakfast that had plenty of options.
The only small mishap we had was a misunderstanding regarding times for spa treatments, but that didn't affect our overall happiness with our stay.
The hotel is old but very well preserved. The spa is beautiful. Nice views of the lake and quiet place.
The restaurant menu is limited with no vegetarian options.
Gorgeous public areas/restaurant and lovely food. Great spa. Very friendly restaurant/breakfast staff.
The room was small and dated and the bathroom was in need of refurbishment. The hairdryer was one of those ones attached to the wall and pretty much useless. I know you're paying for the whole experience and not just the room, but I expected the room to be alot nicer for the price we paid.
The breakfast was excellent and the hotel has a great atmosphere for Christmas.
The bathroom is far too small. Shower with just a sticky sheet with the water running over the toilet.
Staff, Heritage,SPA.
Extra bed (sofa) was terrible.Beds in general weren’t comfortable at all.On top of that the person next door was snoring so badly that the whole relaxing stay turned out to be quite the opposite.
Super hotel and spa in lovely location.
Bed was hard.
