    Pros +

    • Friendly staff and beautiful decor and building inside. Rooms were big enough and nice bathroom. Could open windows, bigPlus
    • Fantastic host — warm, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. The Airbnb was everything we hoped for and more: clean, comfortable, stylish, and perfectly located for exploring the city on foot. The space had a lot of charm and character, with all the essentials (and then some) thoughtfully provided. We especially appreciated the little local touches and how easy everything from check-in to check-out went.It really felt like a home away from home, and we’d absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting!
    • I wouldn’t recommend this place.

    Cons -

    • The street is very noisy very early
    • The room was outdated and small. The common areas were nice. The staff was unfriendly. Location was run down and train passed right in front of our window and was loud.
    • Its on a noisy street with the metro line.

Breakfast was nice. Clean rooms, basic.

Its on a noisy street with the metro line.

Adequate size room. Bathroom was small but great shower. Noisy with the electric right outside our window.

    Excellent breakfast buffett!!

Walls in room are very thin. I can hear my neighbors using restroom.

Great hotel in Matosinhos. Very good breakfast. Only problem is that Matosinhos town needs. Serious TLC.

Nice place for staying near the ocean in a quiet area

    8TatianaPosted on: 4-19-2025

It is clean, central with lovely people working there

The breakfast was ok. Eggs overdone and sausages the lowest quality but nobody has to eat it!

Great location for us walking the Camino, walked from Porto to Matosinhos the first day upon arrival. Staff was very nice and helpful, recommended a great restaurant close by. Just off the Camino path. Hotel had the most beautiful staircase I've ever seen.

    No complaints

Location was great, very nice and clean hotel with a friendly staff.

Very loud and annoying neighbours/other hotel guests running around the corridor and smashing doors at midnight.

    6BiancaPosted on: 1-29-2025

    Good location for the Camino.

They used too much chlorine to clean the room that I could bearly breath. Old forniture.

Excellent location. The hotel interior is beautiful. Great intimate rooms.

Room 106 had a smoky smell - and the dresser had an awful moldy smell.

    10LisaPosted on: 1-3-2025

Very clean and cats were allowed

Old furniture in the rooms, very very old. Could be more modern.

The building is wonderful and seems to have history. There is a delightful and comfy lounge on the 1st floor where I relaxed in the evening. The staff were friendly and accommodating in allowing a late check out due to running in the marathon. Location for Matosinhos is great, everything walkable!

The room was quite small and smelt a little damp or "off". Even after airing it for some hours it still had a bit of a smell. Though I know this is quite common in northern Portugal in the winter (damp inside rooms).

    Practical and great location

My room was on top of the restaurant Went to bed with the smell of fish and woke up to the smell of bacon... I am Vegan ( would prefer smelling no food at all but this made it worse).

    Excellent location, excellent room.

No free car park, the morning receptionist not very polite, not even a "good morning ".

    8BrunoPosted on: 10-25-2024

Excellent breakfast, fresh food good variety.

    8JanettPosted on: 10-24-2024

The hotel is very close to metro stops and in a very quiet area of the town. The breakfast buffet was good. The room was clean and had everything I expected.

On both nights we stayed there it was very difficult to get ahold of the reception staff at night. They were just gone. The bar was also never manned so when we had some problems at night, it took some time to resolve just because we had to wait for someone to show up. That was at nine and ten o'clock respectively, so not very late.
