Pros +
- It was in a good quiet location. The facilities were clean.
- Fantastic location, charming and clean hotel. Great staff, especially the lady in the morning. We were leaving before the start of the breakfast. She was so attentive to us and did not mind to get us the food that we liked, even though she always still setting up.
- Was a beautiful and quaint hotel and just what we needed after a long day of walking the Camino. Great central location and close to cafes and laundromat.
Cons -
- The ceiling was sloped, so I got a head knock. The head of the bed was in an alcove about 3' tall.. couldn't sit up in bed. The police presence on the first night was a bit alarming.
- Small room
- Wish there was a more comfortable lobby sitting area. I was there several days and didn't always want to hang out in my room. Small lobby only had chairs, not a small sofa.

It's very well located. Very close to the main historic center street (Av. dos Combatentes da Segunda Grande Guerra), but in a very quiet and safe street. The room and everything else were sparkling clean. The breakfast is well served.
Comfy bed, great shower, hanging space
Small room
Location is great. In the heart of town, close to the water, yet on a quiet street.Very clean. Staff very pleasant.

Clean room. Nice location for Camino walkers
Breakfast earlier or at least coffee available, bananas, roll.
Great location. Great staff and very clean and comfortable
Great value, cool old building, but fully accessible. Great views from our room. Awesome shower.
Bed was a bit firm but ok. Rowdy noises outside til 1am. Sounded like football fan chants. Not the hotel's fault
Comfortable room and bed. Now cafe attached. Stayed here while walking the Camino stay very kind and helpful.
The location was great, in the heart of the city.
Room furnishings were basic. There was no one at the desk when we arrived. We had to call to have someone let us in.
Great location to the Camino trail
My room.had low tiered ceilings. Banged my head more than once
Comfy quiet room with a view. Super clean!
Lovely facilities and the breakfast was outstanding! I truly felt cared for. This was my favorite stay on my Camino. I wanted to take a rest day and stay one more night! Couldn’t recommend Rua Grande more. Exceptional value for what you pay!
Nothing :)
I never like to put down business and hard working owner, but this place target clearly people hiking for the Camino, they stay mostly one night , room is ok , that s enough for 1 night. Just please think to put a kettle on the room, it s a big plus for guest that leave early and wish to get a coffee before leaving for 20-30 km. Or else nothing else to add I just sleep few hours and leave , but commune chiller and kettle is really needed. Hope everyone can add this small plus for us ;) Thank you so much and take care Godbless
The room was comfy and had wonderful view of the streets below. Conveniently located to jump back on Camino.
Good location in the old area. Perfect for Coastal and Literale Camino. Close to good restaurants. I had a whole sea bass with vegetables for 12 Eiros at a restaurant about two doors down on the other side of the street. Wish I could remember the name.
Front desk person was rude. Not there the next morning. A breakfast was ‘included’ but no one was able to find it. Poor, say the least.
The location is amazing and the room had a lovely view of the street.
The room set up is a bit awkward given where the bed is situated but it really wasn’t a big deal.
Very helpful staff, recommendations on activities and restos in Viana do Castelo made our stay more enjoyable.
Great location, comfortable, clean, and private.
