Was clean, spacious

The spa services (massage/body scrub/ reflexology) were not the best. The food quality of room service wasn’t great.

The rooms are very big and the room itself is clean. The location is great right off the bridge.

The hotel needs a bit of renovation. The knob in the shower kept popping off and toilet was extremely stained from yrs of use.

Terrible checked out early

the hotel is dated, old and needs repair. There was water leaking out of the ceilings. The beds were like sleeping on the floor, the pillows were awful. There wasn’t any shampoo. They simply draped oversized covers over old furniture. I would not stay here, we checked out a day early and asked for a part refund. They said they would if they could but because we booked it through booking.com they could not offer a refund. I am waiting for booking.com to respond. The front desk knows the hotel is in horrible shape but unless you book direct their hands are tied. Breakfast was a step up from fast food. Coffee was bitter and couldn’t drink

Not up to standards.

Breakfast sucks.I’m celiac, asked for a gluten free bread and then for it to be toasted separately- the kitchen not only refused to toast it (in a simple pan), as it told me to do it in the regular toaster, with all regular breads. When I asked again they simply ignored me.

The Spa, Gym and pool are great.It was one of the best equipped gym I have ever tried (congratulations)

I had high expectations for the breakfast given the reviews and it was disappointing - it uses too many ready to go/cook items (sausage, doughnuts and "natural" juices that doesn't take like natural at all, pancakes were also tasteless) Bed could be more comfortable.The fact is the gym spa or swimming pool on Sunday afternoon.

Room and Spa/Gym were excellent.

Breakfast without real orange juice was a real let down!

Good buffet lunch

Pool and gym open to public. Pool a bit crowded and noisy w little kids. Maybe need to go at certain time to avoid them.

The hotel hás very strict rules. The people at gym were rude and we had to book for the pool and spa and wear swimming caps. It says silent in the pool but there were kids jumping and screaming in the pool when it isn’t à kids pool.We went for new years and they didn’t ask ask us if we wanted to spend new years there. When we found out that we had go book it was too late.The communication wasn’t great

The gym was much better than most hotel gyms

Bring your own bath plugNo plug in the bathroom, when I asked for a plug at reception the lady said that that was normal and they did not provide a bath plugsI subsequently found that the couple we were travelling with had a bath plug.

The room was very comfortable. The outside pool was nice and refreshing.The spa pool is small but good to relax. The gym was great. In fact, it is a full gym opened to gym members and not only for hotel guests. There is an indoor pool to swim. Super complete gym/exercise facilities.

The location is in the outskirts of Viana, but we knew that already when booking.The buffet at dinner was a bit pricey based on the quality of the food.

Top floor room was spacious clean and had a great view. Although the buffet area looked small it provided plenty of choice for breakfast and lunch. Outdoor pool area was great.

No balcony but we knew that before we booked.

Staff were super helpful and nice, room and hotel were excellent. I especially liked the spa option and the spa services were well priced.

The staff was great. The room service and food were above expectations. The inside pool was great for swimming and not crowded.The massage was a great bonus.

Nice pool and close to Centre

Food in restaurant very disappointing, was served undercooked meat and overcooked risotto.

Aircondition was not working, during a heat wave periode. Contacted the hotel reception many times. Nothing happened.The personel was not very accomodating except for one person: Adriel (from Brazil) the waiter and bartender. He gave the hotel a personality, and he was very kind and sweet!

They let me check out a little later and let be borrow a charger when mine broke. Very thankful, I had a great stay!

Friendliness of the staff from reception, house-keeping and restaurant staff. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and the outdoor terrace with seating, sun loungers and outdoor pool is the perfect area to relax. We visit Viana Do Castelo for family and Axis is in a great location to visit all the areas we need to which are all within walking distance. A lovely hotel.
