Pros +
- The property was conveniently located close to the arrival of Hurtigruten.
- The location was fantastic, and the windows opened pretty wide, which made it possible to get a lot of ventilation in the room. the blinds were thick and did a great job of blocking out the midnight sun, and (according to my mom) the coffee was good.
- The location is great! Walking distance from the ferry and close to town. Our family room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was amazing and far exceeded my expectations.
Cons -
- It was not cleaned properly. There were crumbs on the nightstand in our room. In my mother’s room, neither of the bedside reading lamps worked. When I spoke to the front desk, they suggested I pull the bed away from the wall to see if it was plugged in. While this did turn out to be the solution, I don’t expect to be moving furniture when I am staying at a hotel.
- The room was unsatisfactory for the price we paid. My sheets had holes in them, the floors were sticky, there was bird poop all over our windows, and the towels were super thin and clearly very old. The building itself is very dated -- the hallways were unkempt and dirty, and the carpets were filthy. The halls were very dark as well. Additionally, we requested housekeeping services for one of the days of our stay, but nobody ever came to clean the room, and the staff seemed not to care about this issue, citing that the hotel was busy and that they didn't have time for our room.
- The view on the parking lot and the lack of an elevator.

The view on the parking lot and the lack of an elevator.
The breakfast was really good. Lots to choose from. Fresh.
I would have liked to be able to do my laundry. The staff didn´t know that the tourist information office would offer a unit for that.
Good location, friendly staff and good buffet breakfast.
No elevator to second floor rooms, we had to carry our suitcases up a decent flight of stairs. No free parking at the front of the hotel, we had to pay to park our rental car.
Room with small terrace and good view.Breakfast is very good.
Hot water for shower is terrible.
Scandic Vestfjord was closed, and we were moved to Scandic Svolvaer. The ratings above therefore apply to the latter.
Breakfast, location and staff goodSmall, passable gym
Cold showers. We spoke to 2 members of staff on different occasions and the alternative shower was also cold.
It’s a large accommodation with a nice view and generally clean. Large parking place. Nice breakfast. Large room.
The room doesn't seem to be well-cleaned (a lot of dust accumulated overnight). The sink drain is clogged and needs cleaning.
Lovely helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Room was comfortable and quite big.
No plug in the basin but that seems to be a Norway thing.Hotel a bit difficult to find.
Beautiful view on the harbor. Just in front of our window were going big ferries, it is very romantic. Good breakfast. Nearby there is ice bar, what is cool experience. Free parking
The location was great: in a quiet corner by the water and very close to the heart of the town. The room was small but comfortable. The hotel has a small gym.
There was construction going on near the hotel so we had to walk around the back and it was industrial-looking. The building is on the older side.
We liked the size of the family room which accomodated two beds, big enough for our family of four which included a teenager and a tween. We also liked the waterfront location and proximity to shops. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of foods, drinks and fruits. The staff were friendly and came to help when we needed it.
The bathroom had a sewage smell. The room would get quite hot during the night. We wish there were a kettle in the room to make a hot drink.
We had a standard room which was perfect for our needs. Location was perfect and the breakfast was above the average hig
A hot day, the room was like an oven - theycpuld have closed the curtains to prevent sun pouring in
Close to the fast boat and had blackout curtains. Gave us breakfast for 6am boat.
Very hot, no air circulation in room. No fridge or kettle. Very basic small room and very small bathroom with leaky shower and broken toilet seat. Much more expensive and smaller/less comfortable than Fast Hotel which was significantly cheaper. Other guests were noisy outside until late (past midnight)
Nice location. Good breakfast.
Loud ships coming into harbour made a lot of noise.
I like that I have had a bad ... Old Scandic hotel, not very clean, a specially floor in the room was dusty ...only plus that hotel have good location.
Good breakfast
Hotel was dirty, rooms are small, No restaurant in the hotel. Way too expensive compared to the quality
+ close to the city center+ you can watch the cruise ships coming in and leaving+ good breakfast but not enough tables - so don't come in a peak time
- the bath wasn't cleaned good (hairs in the sink of the shower)- the room had a bed room with the only window, a "living room" and a bath room - but the window was not enough to get fresh air in the two other rooms
Location, amazing breakfast, super comfortable beds.
The building and the rooms are a bit dated.
