About
Located in the lush vales of Meaño in the unspoiled countryside of Pontevedra, Quinta de San Amaro Rias Baixas offers picturesque rural surroundings. Meaño is ideally positioned on the side of a valley with outstanding views of the Salnes Valley, where the scenery is dotted with vineyards that produce Galicia´s famous Albariño wine. There is an array of activities and places to visit. The hotel is just a short drive away from the coastline which features some of the best beaches due to its crystal clear waters and fine white sand. From the city of Vigo a boat can take you to the Cies Islands, where you can find a natural park and visit what has been voted one of the best beaches in the world. Our hotel is only 3.7 mi from the Monastery of Armenteira, an important stop on the Spiritual Variant of el Camino de Santiago Portugués. Pilgrims can request a taxi transfer to the hotel and return to the same point.

Quinta de San Amaro Rias is a unique place to stay. It is a fabulous wine hotel and has been lovingly restored. The attention to detail was outstanding eg mineral water in the rooms, beds prepared in evening with light left on. It is styled beautifully like a luxurious home. The different sitting rooms were really comfortable too. The service just outstanding.
We loved the design and the layout of the hotel. Our villa was beautiful. Spacious and relaxed. The bed was excellent. Likewise, the restaurant. José and his team looked after us so well.it surpassed all expectations. We liked the quirky art.
We would have liked more vegetarian choice
Supposedly the food both breakfast and dinner
It’s very remote, need a car to move around. Rooms are pretty small and the hotel was build in 2011 but lacks style and modern comfort. The ground around is a mix of garden , winery field , sitting area with not clear deign plan. Restaurant very good but pricey app. Eur 50/60 per person for dinner .Hotel lies in from of the motorway which is noisy and neighborhood dogs barking non stop!
Great gardens, pool and plenty of places to sit and enjoy. Easy drive to coast towns and national parks. Right in the centre of wine area
We had a really good stay with no issues - everyone on the 'San Amaro' team seemed determined to make us feel welcome, relaxed and comfortable.
Everthing was good, we just wished we could could have done justice to our very large portions at dinner!
The room was a really good size and the decor was very tastefully done. The gardens and flowers were beautiful. The pool was never busy which was great. The restaurant was excellent as were the staff.
It would have been helpful to have a kettle in the room and the sun beds would benefit from thicker cushions but can’t fault anything else.
Room was comfortable with a lovely viewLots of different seating areas, tastefully designed and lovely gardensBeautiful pool and very good restaurant
Most of the time it was a tranquil, relaxed place to be. However, a large group arrived and the swimming pool changed into a kids playground that no other guests could use.
This is a fabulous hotel in a beautiful rural location just beyond Armenteira on the Portuguese Camino route. The accommodation was excellent, facilities amazing, food delicious and staff, especially Teresa, exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, they go above and beyond for their guests. It's the sort of place I'd like to keep to myself, but I've decided to be altruistic and let others know!
I liked everything about this hotel! Nothing to dislike.
Great staff and onsite restaurant. Great place to use as a hotel for wine tourism.
Parking is a pain to get to.
Very friendly, and helpful when we needed it. The breakfast set us up for the day, and The room was spacious and the bed was excellent, a great night's sleep!
nothing to report
We had a lovely stay at Quinta de San Amaro. It is a beautiiful place with a lovely restaurant. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there during our stay - all delicious. We were given excellent advice and instructions on where to go for a trek on a rainy day. My only point would be that when we arrived there was no one on reception and the member of staff who gave us our key didn't speak English and there was a slight muddle up.
Adored our stay. The staff were super helpful, it was like having a concierge service. The room and bathroom were both large. We loved the communal areas, too - the converted horreo was beautiful, the pool glorious. Breakfast is wonderful - varied and delicious. We ate dinner most nights in the restaurant and found the food to be excellent. We used the hotel as a base to do some bodega tours, which we loved. The bodega tour included in the price of the stay was our favourite.
Nothing - everything was perfect.
the way it its decorated and designed , the staff, nature around and integrated in the property
two many buildings around. not clear nature . far away from sea . small swimming oool .
Excellently managed hotel Beautiful place and surrounding gardens and secluded areas for private relaxationGreat restaurant - do not miss itVery nice barman at the open bar in the gardenWithin vineyards
The food was so nice that I had to stop my diet !!
Excellent food, very friendly staff and a beautiful location.
The location, the room, the swimming pool and the breakfast!
No one of the staff was fluent in English but somehow we managed to communicate… so in the end no problem ?
Food, location, places to sit, pool, garden bar, comfortable beds
