    Cons -

    • Staff was not friendly. They were not welcoming at all. On the morning when we were checking out a shelf unit holding our suitcases broke and it almost broke my toes. I relayed this to the front desk, and they did not express any apologies at all. That shelfing unit needs to be secure with screws or nails, and also the wooden brace holding up the unit was partially broken. Clearly the maintenance and cleaning staff have no pride in their work. The room was dated -- old furniture. The bathroom is very small, and the shower was a challenge to open. Also, it can only accommodate small people. Their restaurant is closed, so you have to travel to get breakfast or anything to eat.Very disappointed with this hotel.
    • The shower – it was both broken and incredibly small. If I weighed around 120 kilos, I honestly don't think I would’ve been able to fit in there comfortably. For a place that should be focused on guest comfort, this was a major letdown. The rest of the room was decent, but the bathroom experience really left much to be desired.
    • While Metropol is close to the historic centre, it's still a hike to find the passage into the old fortress. The paper-thin walls meant everything was heard! The room was dimly lit.

As Camino routes converge closer to Santiago de Compostela, accommodations become so scarce. I made the mistake of setting out without booking anywhere that night, since I wasn't sure how far I would walk.Unfortunately, there was nothing available near A Ponte Ferreira, which was the end of that leg, and further options weren't available. I returned to Lugo by taxi, aiming for something near the walled historic centre where I had stayed the night before.Metropol by Carris had a room. Everything was filling up quickly—no doubt another wave of Camino pilgrims had arrived.

While Metropol is close to the historic centre, it's still a hike to find the passage into the old fortress. The paper-thin walls meant everything was heard! The room was dimly lit.

Minutes to the city wall and the railway station.

Have a room with lounge area, the lounge will be great if there is comfortable seating.

    Clean room, helpful staff.

Cafeteria was closed. Poor wi-fi apart from that everything ok.

I got there early and they sped up cleaning my room while I waited which I really appreciated! Great location convenient to everything. Great value for money.

I did not like the fact that the soap dispenser was not working, I notified the issue and when I came back at night it was not correct itI called again and they gave me a bar or soap

Close to the Roman wall ...helpful stafd

Door key didn't work so we were moved to another room. That room had a kitchen but no plates or cutlery or appliances. Shower hot water used by other guests ..had to wait for it to heat up. Bathroom fittings coming off the wall

    The staff were excellent

You could only get the wi-fi in the room I was in certain areas of the room. Not in bed as the wall was blocking the signal at times.

Nothing HOWEVER it was really cheap and so we couldn't expect anything else. We did not stay; we booked into another hotel. There was parking on the street outide of the hotel

no air conas basic as it getnot comfortable at all

Nice man on duty was very helpful. The car park was full but luckily there was a cancellation and we were able to park. Important to request parking, if you need it, when making booking. The rooms were comfortable. Very interesting town with well preserved Roman fortifications. The hotel is fairly close to the centre but not noisy at night.

    Room had bathroom facilities.

The bed was terrible. Like sleeping on a table. Who's idea was it to have the massive pillows? Terrible. I couldn't get one night of proper sleep. On the last night before my long travel I had one HR sleep barely. The noise from neighbouring room was terrible. Could hear everything and door slam everytime someone left waking me up. Building Works outside meant sleeping with the window and shutter completely closed to try and stop the dust and the noise. But that was impossible as the double glazing wasn't double glazing really and 7.30.. 8am was the 'wake-up call.' my throat is full of dust to the point my voice is croaky. So much dust in the air. One plug in the room to fight over.

By the train station. About 10 mins from the Wall. Polite reception. Beautiful bedroom. Nice bed, nice strong shower power. Long reception hours.

Crack in the shower screen was not pointed when we moved in. I informed about it. Supposedly, reception took note of it but I never saw a 'report'. One of the mirror light bulbs in the bathroom was not working. Could hear the neighbours shower clear and loud - enough to not let me fall asleep -.

Very kind reception girl and nice place. Comfortable and very clean room, very calm. Excellent value for money. Pretty good location also, close to the Bus Station (and train also, though I guess very few people get to Lugo by train) and to the Roman Wall. I got the extra pillow I had mentioned during the reservation and I could leave my backpack there until I went for my bus in the evening, so Many Thanks!

    Good price

Staff not very helpful. Travelling by bike and wanted an early start. Tried to make us put bikes in garage that wouldn't be unlocked until 8am. Definitely didn't put customers requirements first. Probably the worst attitude I've had from any hotel staff anywhere.

    7ChristopherPosted on: 6-26-2024

Basic facilities. Hotel just outside city walls. Good value for the price we paid but it is a basic hotel.

    Rooms were a bit hot

    clean, comfortable, nice staff

When needing help to get in after hours, staff were available by phone to help but would really have liked just to be able to get in quickly.

Arriving after midnight and the PIN code entry system didn’t work. Not outside and then not inside either. Already had to request the PIN code from the hotel. Then found several silver fish in the bathroom. Then found the hotel is opposite a huge building site which operates late into the night and starts again early hours of the morning (3am). On top of the road noise. Not much chance of sleep with the window open, less without. Too many long communications in Spanish from the hotel in advance, worked out what they were requesting, complied with it, then hotel didn’t process it. Most admin intensive hotel of many along the way. Least nice. Not a great location for either bus station or Camino.

    6KarenPosted on: 6-7-2024

    Just OK

Noisy and hot, couldn’t escape the heat with an open window due to traffic and building site noise directly below. Out of the way basic hotel. Inundated with indecipherable messages. Not on the Camino (15 min walk to cathedral) and 15 minutes from bus station. Nice lady in reception though!
