Alojamento Local - Covas

Great location (right across from the bus station); an easy walk to the grocery store, the windmill and Roman ruins. Irene moved me to her property across the street (not the one above the restaurant), so I didn't have any noise issues. My room and separate bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. I could have had other people staying in separate rooms in my "house", but it turned out that I was the only one there. If you were staying for a few days, you'd find the kitchen a bit ill-equipped, but I was starting the Rota Vicentina (Historical) so I was up and out early!

A few more kitchen items would be appreciated by anyone staying longer than one night.

Excellent location across from the bus station and co-located with a nice cafe and restaurant. Perfect location for hiking the Historical Trail. Very nice host and an easy check in/checkout.

Location was good near the bus stop. Room was quiet and clean.

There was a strong smell coming from the bathroom - not all the time but it was quite off putting.

This is a fabulous first night. Stay if you are going on to hike, the fisherman Trail.. right across from the bus station, beer out front and fabulous restaurant connected. Clean rooms.. just a perfect stay.

Great location, modern clean room. Restaurant was closed for vacation which was a disappointment for me, but everyone needs a vacation. Owner helped me check in as soon as I arrived.

The guesthouse was across the street from the bus stop. Isabel, the owner and/or manager, was friendly and helpful when around.

Isabel was also was involved in the Restaurante Covas next door, so she was not always available. Eventually my needs were well met, however. There could be better signage in the door to identify it as Covas Guesthouse.

Great bar/restaurant. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Isabel is charming, helpful and ever present! We truly enjoyed our time both at the accomodations and the restaurant and bar :-)

We are walking Rota Vincentina and this was the perfect place to start our walk the next morning, literally across the street from the bus station. We were greeted with a smile and check in was easy. As others have mentioned the restaurant attached to the hotel is really good with a cool little bar attached to the restaurant. Our room was very quiet, for the price, location and friendly service it's worth it, just keep in mind the room is on the small side and pretty basic but for us it was absolutely perfect.

I enjoyed having the restaurant right there and got help from the owner interpreting the menu, the food was great and healthy. I would stay there again.

Kind staff, comfortable room, very clean. A practical and convenient option for a short stay for people who get up before 9am.

The noise in the morning! If you are getting up before 9am, this won't be an issue for you and there is no reason to avoid this accommodation. However, if you want to sleep beyond that hour (we were in this region to attend a music festival), I recommend against staying here. The noise comes from an industrial fan or exhaustion system from the restaurant downstairs, I believe. I recommend the managers of this accommodation modify their listing here on Booking to clearly warn potential guests about this situation, which (I assume) must be ongoing. We stayed for 2 nights: on Saturday a powerful industrial fan (or other powerful engine from the restaurant downstairs) started working at 9am and the next day (Sunday) it went on at 10am, making it impossible to sleep beyond that point.
