    Pros +

    • Excellent hotel! Very nice staff (Godinho was great and very friendly, gentle and helpful)! Beautiful buildings and location!
    • Love how peaceful this place is. The history fills every hallway. Walking distance to delicious restaurants and coffee shops! We really enjoyed visiting the castle and cathedral a short walk away.
    • The architecture. The modern bathroom. The dining room staff were very good.

    Cons -

    • Not much to complain about. Bed could have been larger, I think it was a full size. Would have preferred two twins together.
    • The faucets for the rainshower were nearly impossible to get the water temperature correct (too hot or too cold). The glass door for the bathtub had no plastic seal, so water from the shower leaked all over the floor and into the next room.
    • Nothing, everything was up to par

Enjoyed our stay. Pleasant quaint room with spacious bathroom.Bar facilities & communal public sitting areas need improvement. There was a wedding in progress the night we dined in the restaurant & food wasn’t as good as we expected. The server was alone serving all tables & seemed under pressure but was very pleasant & friendly to us.

1.Loved the architecture 2.loved the courtyard and the vibes there 3. The staff were wonderful especially the front desk lady (I’m sorry I forgot her name) she was there on the 9/04/25. She made me and my family (two small dogs) feel so comfortable and at home. She gave us amazing local recommendations for dinner. And just her attitude was amazing. Thank you 4. The room was spacious and the view was wonderful. 5. Wish I stayed more. But that 1 day was enough for me to come back again6. Parking is free and it’s safe, gated and everything.. plus there’s a police station literally next door.

Nothing, everything was up to par

Beautiful old property has been very well maintained. But it was a monastery after all, so slso very austere. The rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent for walking to tourist sites.

The historic building has been beautifully adapted. We were amazed by it's size and grandeur. Dinner was fine and we enjoyed chatting to the young waiter who spoke excellent English and made us feel welcome

The very noisy trolley that crossed the dining several times. The handles on the bedroom and bathroom doors that got in the way when the locks were turned. The lack of information about the history of the convent - a booklet, or at least a leaflet, in every room would be of great interest to most visitors

Incredible building, so atmospheric. It was very comfortable, everything was presented well. The room was lovely, the beds , the bathroom, special soap! Very warm and cosy. The breakfast was varied and interesting, high quality products. The staff attentive and pleasant. Will definitely stay there again! Parking on site, safe and secure .Complimentary water provided.

We liked everything! It was heavenly!

Breakfast was excellent. Large facility but not many quests as it was off season

    8PaulPosted on: 11-2-2024

It’s a very interesting and beautifully maintained building in a great location

The beds are too hard and therefore we didn’t sleep well

    9RobertPosted on: 10-13-2024

Lovely building and very helpful staff

Lack of residents lounge. Big building and needs cosy quiet area.Inner courtyard inside cloister was dirty. Cigarette ends and needed a simple sweep up.Somewhat let the pousada down.Rest ok.

Very clean and quiet. Marvelous breakfast, best we had on our trip. It was great that they had parking.

The restaurant did not have anything local food.

The swimming pool was nice, the breakfast was really good and I liked the general atmosphere of the hotel.

There was no gym, the room could be a little better and the pool was nice, but it looked larger in the photos.

    8MehraPosted on: 8-19-2024

Breakfast was generous with a wide variety of food in a pleasant atmosphere. We also had a delicious dinner and wine with fine service. It was fine. It’s a large property with a lovely swimming pool. The environment is clean and well-kept with a little chapel. The furnishings are simple and the overall look spare.

    8FernandoPosted on: 7-28-2024

The hotel is very well located in the center of Beja. It is a refurbished old monastery, very nice building. The rooms are huge and the breakfast is good. The reception people are very friendly. They have a very nice swimming pool, which we did not use. The bathroom is quite good.

The air conditioning did not work at all. The reception people tried to help, but they were not successful. The challenge for a hotel with high walls is how to cool it in hot days in summer. At one point hot air was being blown in our room. The windows are quite small and there are few connectors. This is the price you pay to book a hotel in a historical building.
