Hotel Montemare

The location of the hotel is great as there is easy access to the beach and the shopping center of Positano.

The staff wasn't the most pleasant in the restaurant Il Capitano. Also, the breakfast buffet was terrible. Even the coffee/espresso was bad!

The breakfast pastries by Vitorio were to die for and different every single day. The staff was attentive and incredibly kind. Room was spectacular and views were amazing! Also, the cooking class held by the hotel was a must do.

The only thing that I could possibly think of that could be improved was the bed, it was extremely firm!

A gorgeous hotel with unbeatable views! The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, and the location was perfect! The staff were very accommodating and friendly! Will stay here again!

The location was ideal and the hotel was very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly they went above and beyond to be helpful and attentive with every request, and the breakfast was really impressive. Highly recommended; I’ll definitely be back.

We liked the balcony and a view from the balcony. We loved the service. The hotel stuff was very polite and very helpful. Excellent breakfasts.

Room was okay, but for that price I expected a bit more

Great location in Positano with wonderful views. Amazingly attentive and friendly staff. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore the Amalfi Coast. Great location to the better restaurants in Positano, and a short stroll down the road (or faster- down the steps) to the ferry port to take a boat to other towns and Capri. The hotel is built on the mountainside, so to enter from the main road you take an elevator. It was different but cool. Definitely worth the price!

The room was clean, the staff members were nice and helpful, we received a lot of nice gifts (welcome drinks, cookies, free drinks from the mini bar, a bottle of champagne, and sweets), and the hotel hosted a happy hour each day with wine on the house. The location was perfect. We truly appreciate the service, and had a lovely stay.

Everything!! I can’t say enough about the staff!! They were so attentive to everyone’s needs. The room we stayed in was gorgeous! The continental breakfast was amazing! Just simply a gorgeous hotel!

Staff tried to be helpful but bc of the lack of transport, outdated room that did not look like the one advertised and overcharging us to make it right, we would not recommend.

No transport to and from pier, which was ridiculous for this level of hotel. We were not made aware to trust the porters beforehand so my husband and I lugged our luggage up a tremendous amount of stairs. We did see other hotels were transporting guests in a black golf cart up and down the main road so if we would return i’d look for that hotel. The initial room we were given looked outdated and nothing like the picture and it had a side sea view which we knew when we booked. We were okay with side view not the outdated room so we asked for a better view hoping for a nicer room… we were told there was only one available and it appeared renovated and had a nice view …. but cost 1800 euro more over 3 nights which was outrageous and ended up costing us 1300+ euro a night more than our similar hotel in capri or even the grand vesuvio in naples.

The property is perfectly located with stunning views and accessibility to everything you’ll want in Positano! It has convenient valet parking which allows you to drop your things right at the door, which was important to us as we were traveling with a baby. The staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional… From the moment we arrived and they helped unload,to when I got sick the last day of the trip and they all went out of their way to help us. I got a wonderful signature massage that blended different techniques for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. The masseuse even made me an herbal tea from leaves he went out of his way to find when I wasn’t feeling well. I highly recommend this hotel!

The views from this hotel were incredible. The staff was very nice.

Didn’t like the location because to far from the center. The staff charged $16 euro just for water that we requested in our room. This should have been free. The AC didn’t work too well. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

I liked everything about the property

The breakfast was great!!! The walk to the beach was 300 steps down. Way to many steps. It was horrible walk back up. For the price that I paid for the rooms I was expecting some kind of a view. The staff did a great job. Very accommodating,

Exceptional. This was really 5* experience in all aspects. Room was truly amazing with wonderful view, very clean, spotless service, quality bathroom amenities products, every day small sweet surprise in the room, large selection of breakfast, high quality food, short distance to the beach, marina and city centre. Special thanks to Mrs. Firdaus from the Reception for very nice and highly professional approach.
