Rating: ★★★★★Hotel iL Barilotto is an absolute gem! Run by Giovanni and his family, it perfectly blends the warmth of a family-run hotel with a high standard of professional quality. Their genuine kindness and hospitality flow as naturally as the blessed Tyrrhenian Sea.From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed like part of the family. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, making our stay effortless and memorable. A special thanks to Conny, the manager, who coordinated everything flawlessly and ensured our experience was seamless. If you’re looking for a place that combines heartfelt hospitality, local charm, and professional care, Hotel iL Barilotto is the perfect choice. Truly unforgettable!
Very picturesque Great serviceWonderful breakfastIncredible family run staff
This is a family run hotel. They put their heart into it. The room was clean and modern. We had the special room with a terrace and a hot tub. The room had a wonderful view of the sea and the downtown of Positano. The hotel provides a shuttle to town and back. You get an amazing breakfast with a variety of foods, way too much. :) There is a nice restaurant within walking distance.

Absolutely everything the staff and the owner Gianni are like a family to everyone and more than accommodating.. from arranging us a driver to go eat at a restaurant at night, picking us up and bringing us back at no charge to giving us a bottle of wine without us having to go for it and the most incredible breakfast ever everything was perfect
There was not one con on this property or its staff. They are 10 stars in my book.
The property felt very homey and Giovanni and the staff were very hospitable. The hotel was a little outside of town which meant it was a little quieter and the room had an excellent view of the water. Giovanni gave us a ride to/from town during shuttle times and one day when we needed to get to town early, he opened breakfast for us early. Breakfast was incredible. I would highly recommend Il Barilotto for the smaller B&B feeling. We felt very cared for here.
Family owned and operated hotel, makes you feel at home but with all the facilities of a well furnished, clean, luxury hotel.
Would have appreciated extra two bars of soap.
Giovanni really touched our hearts, a warm welcome and wonderful treatment from the wonderful family that runs the villa. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms with a spectacular view of the sea! The villa is located very close to the center and can be easily reached by shuttles that the villa provides. We received warm recommendations for restaurants and special places in the area. We had a wonderful experience and we thank the family very much!
Nothing:)
A very beautiful, family-run hotel! We were initially worried about the reviews in Positano mentioning the many stairs guests had to climb, but this hotel, in addition to its stunning views, had a lift, which was a huge help. The hotel also offered a car lift to Positano, which was very convenient as it’s about 15 minutes away from the busy tourist area. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Giovanni, the owner, is a wonderful, typical Italian gentleman — always warm and approachable. He was present at breakfast every morning, personally serving the homemade dishes, which added a true touch of Italian hospitality to our day. Alex, who also worked in the breakfast area, was an absolute gem — both he and Giovanni made our mornings brighter with their smiles. We would definitely come back!
The room was a little small and the bed and blanket could have been more comfortable, but this was a minor detail compared to the overall experience.
Such a great place to stay. Location is 6 min away from town with free shuttle. Ocean view just stunning! Family owned they are so wonderful, kind, and made you feel at home.
WiFi went out in our room for 24 hours, but it worked in lobby and rooftop so it was okay.
ll Barilotto was an amazing place to stay. Jeovanni and his neice are doing an amazing job running this place! They really treated my husband and I like family. We stayed in two separate rooms and both rooms were very clean and stocked with toiletries. The jacuzzi was the best part. The king room with the spa bath has two separate balconies and so worth the money. After a long day at the beach and crazy amounts of WALKING UP STAIRS, the jaccuzi felt like heaven. Because the location is kind of far from the main beach, I advise you to call and book the SHUTTLE to the hotel in advanced. It is too far to walk and taxis charge too much! Best of luck! thank you Barilotto for the hospitality!
I wish the shuttle services had more hours and wish they notified guests about shuttle services prior to our arrival.
Absolutely everything. The view, the breakfast, the rooms, the free shuttle to town, but especially the service! The place is ran by Giovanni and his family, and they make you feel at home from the minute you arrive at Il Barilotto. If I return to Positano (and I hope I do!), I wouldn’t think about staying anywhere else. 10 out of 10!
Everything was just perfect.

Beautiful view, nice hotel owners, clean rooms, always cleaned, good service and breakfast ,we have a good time
Comfortable , clean room, breakfast , view from the room and especially Giovanni and Raquel his sister who made us feel sitting at home with our families.
Location and friendly, instead of being caught in the clutter of Positano, we chose Il Barilotto for location and the value. They shuttle you back and forth to Positano which is about a mile away. Can’t say enough about this place.
Nothing to not like, this property and the family that run it are outstanding
Quieter location than busy downtown Positano. Much more romantic and calm. Across from the most expensive resort - which has a delicious lunch (in walking distance). Giovanni, sister Rebecca and brother Philipe are all wonderful. You can tell their hotel is their home.
A little removed… although there is a complimentary shuttle offered multiple times in am and pm hours.
Away from the center of Positano and very quiet. Giovanni, Raquele, their family and employees treated us like family. Giovanni offers transportation into town several times a day. There is also a bus you can take to get back to the hotel.
