Amazing place! Family owned with very accommodating and nice staff. Very tasty breakfast in the garden with lovely views. The owner who lived in Positano his whole life added to the charm of this place. Rooms had everything you’d possibly need, bonus: big balcony with chairs to lay. The hotel doesn’t have many rooms so everything seemed intimate and calm. Of course you need to take stairs to get everywhere, but it’s not a long walk down to the beach and even shorter walk up to restaurants. If we come back to Positano we will be staying here again. Cuddly cats on the property - another big plus!
Loved the view and patio, how helpful and kind Franco always was, the morning breakfast, and it was in a good area between the less busy beach and town! I would happily stay here again!
The bathroom had an odd smell and the shower was tiny with changing water temps, but really that is the only complaint. It could definitely be remodeled soon and be 100% perfect.
The view is breathtaking and the location is very good, at the heath of all the attractions but still quite. The staff is very friendly, especially Franco helped with carrying our luggages. I highly recommend this place!
Centrally located, spacious room, complimentary breakfast.
Location and view
Bathrooms were too small
Room is very big, clean and the garden and view is amazing!! Highly recomanded!
- Friendly and helpful staff - Amazing views from the garden terrace - Good value for money, walking distance to some great restaurants and beach clubs - Nice breakfast served on the terrace each morning - Room was clean and had good air conditioning
- Be aware of the many steps to access the property - Beds were too small - I am 174cm / 5ft 9” and found them short - No shower curtain
The view and the location were nice.
The customer service was practically non existent. We were told that we need to sit down at the table for the breakfast and after waiting for almost 40 minutes for someone to come with said breakfast, I had to go to the reception and ask. The guy did not say much and did not wipe the table, there was still food ON the table from the previous guests. As for the breakfast - it was included in our stay but only part of the breakfast was for free. For the other part such as omlette or fresh squished juice you had to pay which in our opinion was a ripp off - if you say the breakfast is included then you should not have to pay to have something warm brought to you. As for the part that was included - in the menu it said that you can request a non dairy yogurt but when I asked for it they did not have it, same goes for gluten free options. The bread was old and stale. The bathroom in the room was not the standard of a 3 star hotel. The shower did not have a working door. The toilet seat was moving when you sat down, it was broken. The check out was at 11 and the guy called our room at 10:50 to remind us to leave the room, as we were already on our way out. It didn't leave a good impression because throughout our stay we already had had the impression that they didn't want us to be there. The guy was just very incompetent and unsure of what he was doing and the girl did not say a word to us from the moment we checked in, which we found very weird. We are not exactly sure what she was doing there because the guy did everything, even if he did it badly, she did not help at all.We know that Positano is expensive and we were not expecting anything else when we booked a stay at this hotel but charging the price that we had to pay for the terrible customer service and the bathroom and other amenities that were missing (you did not even get an amenity set or extra blanket etc.) is unacceptable.
View from picture window was glorious, overlooking mountains and sea. Hotel is in the nicest quietest part of Positano. The hotel was very comfortable, we had a large room with a sofa and a private section of balcony with loungers. Breakfast was served in the garden. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful and even voluntarily carried our bags up hundreds of steps. Hotel is gated both from road and beach. Beach is reached by steps.
We had a wonderful time, but be aware that you will comfortably reach the medically advised step count!
The property is beautiful and the view is absolutely incredible! It’s clean, big rooms, well kept
The facilities were excellent and the view amazing. The staff all had a pleasant and friendly manner. They took care to find out how we were arriving. For us this was by car. We parked where they suggested and strong young men carried them down the hill on arrival. Then up the hill on departure. When it rained we could stay in our spacious room and watch the view.Great location for us too,
Location was perfect, very clean and lovely staff
Wifi did not work, this was the only reason we booked another night, me and my brother had to work from home, had to leave the facility and use wifi in the city where it was hard to concentrate, also the beds were not comfortable at all
The room was beautiful, clean and very spacious. They gave us an upgrade and we really enjoyed the views from the personal terrace and the window. The bathroom too was one of the most scenic ones we've ever been to, with a cute little french window. The beach was 8 min downhill / uphill. Some of the best restaurants in Positano were also just 10 mins away.
Stunning views from the bedroom, our veranda and at breakfast! Warm and friendly hosts who were responsive by email even before we arrived and had plenty of advice for where to eat and what to do. Great location too!
Everything was just perfect
Spacious , clean, basic rooms with a nice balcony offering tremendous view, gracious host.
Nothing not to like .Stay was comfortable. The property is a little bit outdated and basic. Could do with some modernisation . Lots of stairs to and fro. But really that’s all of Positano.
Dimora Fornillo was everything we were hoping for in Positano, which was our favorite place in the Amalfi Coast! We got a room with a balcony looking over their lovely garden and it was worth every euro! The garden where we had very good breakfast and sat out in the evening was absolutely beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming and provided great advice on various matters: ferry, porters - see below for details - and a dinner at a lovely restaurant nearby ; "Il Saraceno d'Oro" . FERRY: keep in mind that Positano has a smaller harbor and that means that even when the weather turns a only little, there is a chance that ferries will be cancelled. The staff was very helpful in keeping us posted on what was going on with the ferries and assisting us with alternate taxi reservations in case of cancellation. At the end, we were very lucky and got on schedule to Amalfi. LUGGAGE/PORTERS: like most places in Positano, there is a lot and I mean A LOT - as in hundreds - of stairs to get to the hotel. We thought we were travelling light until then he, he so TRAVEL LIGHT! :-) . We did not know but you can contact them shortly before your arrival time and they will try to help you with luggage. On the way out they also recommended that we engage porters to get our luggage to the harbor and - while not cheap (15 euros per luggage) is also worth every bit!!! Grazie Dimora Fornillo per 2 meravigliose giornate a Positano!
Nice hotel, very large room, okay breakfast included. Staff were absolutely lovely.
While the location is beautiful, this hotel is not easily accessible. We used the porters to bring up our bags but even as a fairly fit person, I struggled with incredible amount of steps to get anywhere. To be fair, most of the hotels in Positano seem to involve a lot of steps.
