Hotel Il Gabbiano

Excellent location for walking in the beautiful center of Positano. Very good hotel, wide balkony with see and northern coast view. Very helpful staff, in all areas.

Nice view. Room and balcony good size. Very clean and nicely decorated.

TV sound or talk sound from room to room to be improve. Soundproof insulation to be installed on wall.

The view was ok, nothing special.The cleanliness of the hotel did not meet my expectations.The breakfast was quite basic, the same every day & lack variety.

The hotel enjoys breathtaking panoramic views over the village of Positano and the Tyrrhenian Sea — the terraces, spa area and many rooms take full advantage of the setting.

Small family run hotel with wonderful views of Positano. When we got there we were offered the opportunity to upgrade our room. If possible, try to book one with the balcony, it was totally worth the extra 50 euros a night. The rooms are larger, updated and the balcony has lounge chairs. We enjoyed breakfast in the balcony every morning, it was the best way to start the day, we absolutely loved it!The walk up and down to the center is good exercise…It takes about 15 minutes to walk down buy there is a bus stop a few steps away if you get tired trying to climb up several times a day.

View was incredible, car service could bring you right to hotel which is a plus being on the coast with a lot of steps. Rooms and breakfast service was outstanding. Staff was very friendly

That the city tax was paid in cash only. Only place we stayed in all of Europe that had this rule so kept forgetting and had to walk the last day in bad rain to a ATM to get cash. Think it was a little weird for me but overall the stay was incredible

The property was beautiful & our room & Balcony Devine! The staff was phenomenal and yummy breakfast sent up each morning to enjoy our view in terrace! LOVELY

The location was a bit up high, but walkable!

Everything was good the staff are very kind and the breakfast good.The location was ok for Positano and the good thing that there is a bus station near the hotel.The view from the room was spectacular.

The staff was amazing and having our wonderful breakfast served on our balcony each morning was 5-star! The food and drinks were delicious and always served with care and kindness. The cleanliness of the room was spotless and the views were spectacular! We will definitely return and also tell our friends.

Would like to have small face wash cloths in the bathroom.

Beautiful views. Professional, courteous, and extremely helpful staff. Service was excellent in every way.

The location offers truly spectacular views of the bay and Positano from its high perch on the mountainside. This means it’s a steep twenty minute walk from the center of town. You can’t have the views without the climb. Yet, the walk is worth it.

The view from the hotel is beautiful and the staff were all very helpful, efficient and nice. The hotel is spotlessly clean.

The breakfast was simple and good and served on the terrace of each room. This is great when the weather is good but we had one morning when it was cool and very windy and then we felt there should have been the option of taking breakfast in the dining area.

Friendly staff, breakfast in the room, great location and view from room.

The room was a decent size, and the bathroom was large. Shower was very spacious and comfortable. But the highlight of the room was the amazing outdoor space with an amazing view of the ocean.

We did have an issue with the jacuzzi in our room. It was not able to heat up, but that wasn't a focal point for us.

We love this Hotel!!Our room was very clean and like new. We had an amazing veranda with tables and loungers, and a view to die for.We had a very impressive breakfast brought to our room every morning.It's an enchanting hotel overlooking one of the best views on the planet!The staff were so polite and made us feel welcome from the time we arrived until unfortunately the time we had to leave.Great Value!Can't wait to return.

The number of electrical outlets were limiting but normal for Europe.Everything else was great.

Everything was incredible! Views were spectacular!!! They have parking (with reservation), very clutch in Positano. Location was high enough for the best views while not too high for walking back from the beach. Some of the steps around the hotel are pretty steep, but if that’s a problem for you, you can always just walk the roads (a bit longer but much easier). Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Breakfasts were amazing! The combination of private balconies and delicious breakfasts were one of the most charming experiences we’ve ever had on a vacation. Cannot recommend Il Gabbiano Positano highly enough! ???

We loved everything! It was a great breakfast each day, a great room, a great view, great location…everything was spectacular! We visited for 5 days/4 nights, and we enjoyed having Il Gabbiano as our home base. The hidden Easter egg is that there’s a jacuzzi available to everyone with a world-class view of the Mediterranean Sea.

Sounds like a first-world complaint…but the Jacuzzi isn’t heated all the time, and when we asked about the cold water, they said we had to arrange in advance for them to come down and turn the heater on at a pre-determined time. We couldn’t really be bothered to coordinate it, so we usually dealt with the cold water any time we made a spontaneous visit. Also, the quality of the shampoo was a bit odd — I think I read that it includes olive oil? Regardless, feels strange in the hair…and they don’t provide conditioner (only body wash) so recommend bringing your own if you are picky on shampoo.

Cute hotel in a scenic part of town with a great view and easy access to restaurants and the seaside. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The spa bath tended to be too hot or cold

The VIEW from our terrace was breathtaking, and it got better with each day. Positano is about the VIEW, and our room gave us just that. The room had plenty of space for 2 people and lots of storage to hang your clothes. Breakfast being brought to the room and eating on the terrace was so relaxing. There were many choices for breakfast. The hotel staff went all out to make our stay the best it could be. The hotel arranged a private taxi service from and to Naples at a reasonable price, which was great are a long flight. The hotel also recommended some restaurants, and we ate at several ofthem.

The wifi was a little slow, but that didn't stop us from sharing all the pictures we took.
