- We had a wonderful stay at Astali Hotel in Rethymno. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in, go on a trip, and when we returned, our belongings were already waiting for us in the room. The staff was always helpful and attentive. The location is perfect – very close to the beach, the city center, and plenty of great restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rethymno.
- Breakfast was buffet style served between 7.30-10.30. Had a large array of fruit, yoghurt, breads, pastries, eggs, meats, Greek breakfast ingredients. Endless coffee, tea, water and you could sit as long as you liked. Very relaxed, very lovelyWhat a lovely find! The whole experience centres on 5* staff and the family who own the hotel. Perfect location, perfect price and a casual (which requires hard work) feel so that you can settle wherever you fancy. Just perfect!
- Friendly staff, OK for a night.
Cons -
- The location of Astali Hotel is excellent, very close to the city center and the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
- It was a great experience and I could not identify any negatives
- No parking nearby. The bathroom is very bad - tiny shower with a horrible curtain - everything gets wet after shower.

Friendly staff, OK for a night.

The room is very clean and has everything you need. The staff of the hotel is very kind. The position of the hotel is also very good just a few minutes away from the city center.
The room was a bit small.
Great position near to the beach but also near to the old cityVery clean, staff very nice, the owners are nice people, ready to help and to give advaces Everything is top
Everything was just fine
The staff were super friendly, the hotel is close to the beach, there are a few restaurants around and some markets too. The room was clean and very spacious even for one person.
House keepers were a little bit too loud in the morning. We get it that they have to clean the rooms daily but please don’t start it at 8-9 am when everyone is still sleeping
The best affordable hotel in Rethymno! Great location, wonderful staff, as we understood this is a lovely family business and they aproached our visit with love and dedication. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming! The breakfast was great with decent variety! Our room was cute and small, but really clean at all times, and bed was comfortable, it even has a speaker with a few stations! There is a free parking right down the street at the right side of the port. We really enjoyed the stay and we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! We might return, too!
Great breakfast, great location, excellent staff, very clean.
Smokers on the terrace but it's Greece so it's hard to avoid. The rooms are small but they are priced very well, comfortable, clean, well air conditioned and quiet. It's a very high budget standard and for a holiday where you don't spend much time in your room it's ideal.
Great location. Family owned and pleasant. Would highly recommend
The bar could have done with stocking more choices
Great location, very friendly people and all round good stay. Just a bit far from the bus station.
The breakfast (included) was a little basic, but I’m probably just spoiled. :)
It's really close to rhe centre and the room was clean. The personnel was also nice.
The room was very small for two persons.
Everything was perfect. Nice and cozy hotel, 100m from beach. A lot of supermarkets nearby that work 24-7.
Very good location, clean and the staff was very friendly
Hotel and staff were great, I was a single traveller and whilst the room was ok for me, the shower was on the small size for me a biggish bloke (not fat). The visit to the Astali was pretty good , just the small niggle wrt the shower.Would recommend and go back there.
Very clean. Excellent location. Very central close to old town and the beach. Friendly stuff. Very comfortable bed and air conditioner.
For a 3 star hotel I liked everything
Fabulous modern hotel in the old town. In a perfect position and close to everything. The rooms are a great size, bed very comfortable, bathroom spacious. The room was quiet and hotel stipulates "quiet" times which is great, didn't have people coming back at all hours slamming doors( which has occured in 2 other hotels in the islands)If we returned to chania we would most definitely stay here againThanks for a great stay
Nothing all wonderful
Very nice hotel, walking distante from the beach, old town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everything was very nice.
The room was a little too small, even if I had a double room. Was not a big problem, but for two persons a larger room might be more suitable.
Good no frills hotelNear beach and short walk to old town.Clean
You hear everything through walls very thin.Cleaners very noisy first thing on a morning in corridor. You wouldn’t be able to sleep in.
Helping and warm staff, close to city center pedestrian zone, free parking at 5min walk
Rooms looking over the main street are extremely noisy and it is impostible to sleep with open windows
everything as described, perfect location for access to all what you might need during your time in Rethymno. we needed the be near to the port for our ferry and the 2 min walk was perfect! we also needed to leave before breakfast was being served and we were so blown away by being provided a surprise take away box of a sandwich, cakes and fruit to take with us in the morning. felt really taken care of by the hotel staff there, thank you so much! I hope other guests appreciate the Cretian hospitality.
