Pros +
- location, location and location. this is located right at port area and across parking. we had a beautiful ocean sunrise view.Very elegant and clean with lots of action close by or diner and drinks. Breakfast is perfect.
- The property had a great location and my room was beautifully redone, it was georgeous for the price.
- The location was central to everything, including the Venetian Fortezza.
Cons -
- I requested a quiet room a few times and I think I was given the noisiest room in the hotel. A hotel is a place to relax and sleep, so if the hotel staff creates noise endlessly slamming the door to the bar just below your room all day starting at 7 am and until 1 am that makes it impossible to get much sleep. The staff also use the hall below these 3 bedrooms (611 & 612) to take calls on their phones. I gave a low rating to the staff as I asked multiple times if they could do something about the door slamming - and it wasn’t solved. Honestly I don’t even know why they needed to keep using that door - let alone slamming it. Avoid these rooms u less you only sleep between 1 am and 7am.
- We clearly ended up in the unrenovated portion of the hotel. The 'balcony' consisted of several chairs placed around the perimeter of the second floor. The 'pool/courtyard view' was only attainable by hanging over the railing and angling your camera otherwise you were looking at a wall. The view from the bedroom included a weed shop, a dumpster filled with trash, and the windows into the apartments of folks who lived behind the hotel. The windows were not soundproof, so we heard the partyers who sang and screamed until at least 2 am in the alley. The noise started up again at 5. The toilet had years worth of duct tape and caulk around the pipe, the tub was dirty, and the beds had divits in the middle. We cut our stay short and left after one night. Very disappointing as the hotel had been recommended to us.
- No negatives but if you have a car you’ll have to find parking.

We liked everything about this hotel! Great location once you find a parking spot on the street… excellent buffet breakfast, really nice pool area, friendly staff, we had a nice stay and would highly recommend!
No negatives but if you have a car you’ll have to find parking.
The room was brand new, everything looked and feel like a premium hotel. Very clean, the staff was very friendly and the free parking option nearby, included in the price of the room, is an excellent opportunity for an area where it is very difficult to find a parking place. The location is also great, just between the old city and the port, near the Venetian castle.
Both pillow options too big and too hard. Room quite small.
Location was excellent & very convenient for restaurants, the fortress, shopping, walk to the lighthouse. View from the room was awesome. Had a private balcony. Paid car park was very convenient. Good housekeeping. Breakfast was good too, nice places to sit in common areas. Baggage facility.
Everything was great! Would have appreciated bottled drinking water in the room. And tea, coffee .
The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms are smart rooms and are nice and spacious.
The beds weren't very comfortable. They are very firm and the pillows are uncomfortable. There's a kettle and cups in the room but no tea and coffee.
The location is amazing! The room is perfect for 3 people, the breakfast is good. Then overall very good experience!
My room was very nice. However in the bathroom there was a high step upto the wash basin and toilet. That could have been dangerous at night going to the toilet as water came out from the shower near the step when I was having a shower. Also if the person staying in the room had mobility problems they could find that step very difficult. But the room was very nice with a balcony too. And all the fitting were new. The door to the bathroom didn't shut though but I was on my own so it didn't matter. The location is perfect for the hotel and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
The step would be dangerous in the bathroom leading upto the toilet and wash basin.
It was horrible — except for the location and the lobby.
This was a complete bait and switch. Our room looked nothing like the photos. Staff brought us to a building in the back of the property that had run down accommodations. It was not clean. The air conditioner did not work. Give your money to another hotel with honest practices — not this place
The hotel and staff were amazing
My room said it was a pool view but it actually faced a wall, I could see the pool if I leant out of my balcony and looked round the corner
Beautiful, renovated with style, very clean, amazing staff and great location in the old town of Rethymno.
The location was fantastic! You could easily walk to the harbor, city center, and the Fortezza. We had a car, which made it super convenient to reach beautiful beaches, all within a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The breakfast was good - not exceptional, but decent enough.Overall, the hotel was very nice, with friendly staff, and the location was definitely the highlight!
One of my favourite aspects was definitely the sea view from our room. However, I have to admit it was quite noisy at night. Since the bar is located outside and we were on the first floor, even with the windows closed, the noise was a bit disruptive.
Location, however it is a busy place so it is not easy to find parking space for people having rental cars. Breakfast was good.
Without details we had some insect incidents. However they were solved after we reported them. For the money we paid I think it would be good if we had at least bottled water in the fridge, not even mention tea or coffee. The minibar included in the description doesn't exist (only an empty fridge). Cleanliness could be better. Room 120 is very dark (photos on booking are of the apartment over which is better exposed to sunlight).
The location is amazing!! Everything you need is a walk away! Right in the gorgeous old town. I have recommended it to my parents and they have now booked for next year
The hotel is perfectly located by the shore at the historic city, which was great for us. It has a sweet pool that the kids love and a relaxed atmosphere. We loved how cozy the place was and that you can both enjoy the city and spend lazy days by the pool. We were in Rethymno for three weeks (in several hotels) and we loved this hotel so much that we returned there for a second stay. There’s also a very nice snack bar with fun cocktails and good food as well. Family rooms (we were in two on separate stays) were spacious and has good internet (we were also working).
Rooms are a bit dark and require better lighting Kitchen is not really practical for cooking (just don’t count on it)
Property had been nicely refurbished, was in a great location with loads of restaurants nearby, room was lovely in the annex, staff very nice.
We had the pleasure of staying at this incredible hotel for six days, and it quickly became one of the best places we've ever stayed. Although we had a slight misunderstanding with our room at the beginning, it was resolved immediately by the exceptionally friendly staff. Their promptness and willingness to help made all the difference. The restaurant service here is on another level. They truly treated us like royalty, and we were especially impressed by Kula and the restaurant manager—these two are absolute stars of the hotel! Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made every meal an experience to remember.Speaking of meals, the breakfast was fantastic, so much so that we decided to have dinners there as well. Each evening offered something new, with a delightful mix of Greek and continental dishes that kept things interesting and delicious. The pool was another highlight—a true gem. It was spacious enough for swimming and lounging, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Honestly, this hotel should be rated 5 stars, not just 3.The only minor issue we encountered was with the fresh towels. We had to request them from the reception each evening, which was a bit inconvenient. But honestly, this was just a small hiccup in an otherwise flawless stay.Overall, we were thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience.

Everything, the staff, the location, very clean.
Staff were so friendly, couldn’t do enough for you. Very clean and rooms were really nice.
Not enough sunbeds, the area around the pool is quite small so you need to get there early.
