Pros +
- The suite with pool and sauna was a nice touch for a traveler looking to unwind in a few ways with privacy. The front desk gentleman was welcoming ( with water and a beer) and recommended and reserved one of our best meals in town where we had a semi private (2 tables) patio dinner.
- Nice butique hotel close to city center and beach is close. Room - suite was very confortable. Nice view.
- Staff fantastic, helpful and friendly
Cons -
- Bar shut all the time, same with restaurant. Other private pool not open to everyone.
- Nothing really…just certain elements looking a bit tired
- If I must find something I didn't like: there was no parking spot for us when we arrived but I found one just around the corner. The coffee at breakfast tasted a little thin.Other than that everything was just wonderful.

Lovely large room, fantastic shower and the breakfast was absolutely superb

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Beginning with the most welcoming check in procedure (thank you Yannis!) over the huge bed with two differently firm pillows to choose from right through to breakfast where we got freshly squeezed orange juice served at the table as a surprise. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and had the most amazing view of the sea.The hotel's location is very convenient as it is directly at the beach. Multiple supermarkets and other shops are in the direct vicinity.

The position and the room suite we had was excellent as we had a 14 year old.. he had his own room.. breakfast was great and lots of variety… great view of the sea and harbour
Their bath towels were too heavy and not soft at all… they should look into changing them..
Excellent location, very friendly staff, nice breakfast with omelette preparation on spot. The manager gave us a better room than the one we booked, we had also a place to park right in front the hotel.
All was great!
Breakfast was good, room was spacious, balcony , staff, cleaning staff, waitress, were all great!
The stairs are slippery with the provided sleeper, which are slippery and not good to be used on the stairs. The bathroom floor could have shower mat to prevent falling. Also, I wished the smoking is not permitted especially on the early morning.?
The room was a bi-level suite and very spacious withe multiple balconies overlooking the beach and the city.
Front sea hotel.Breakfast was fine. All the personnel was really kind.
There is room for cleanliness improvement.Pool was really small and with just few deckchair.Hotel itself may need some renovation.
Everything.Location, staff, room, cleanliness, breakfast, quietness. Everything!
I dont know where to start. These guys were just amazing.First of all, we arrived early, and got the rooms right away. With a kid, this is just what we needed. Then, hotel greeted us with sone refreshments and snacks, not a big deal, but very nice gesture! We liked it since we cane from Chania airport, the weather was hot and we spent about a hour in the taxi.Reception - I mean the kindest personnel ever, solving all the issues right away and helping on every step of the way.Rooms - spacious, very nice, huge balconies. We had one and two bedroom apartments, both were really nice. The room arrangement were provably one of the best in such hotels we have visited. All very clean, with good air conditioning, nice towels and toiletries. You also get beach towels from hotel to use in the public beach in front of the hotel. The bar was nice, they serve wonderful fredo espresso. On top of everything, u get a nice breakfast overlooking the see, it is not very rich, but it was more than we needed, with meat, cheese, egg varieties, fresh veggies and fruits, pastries, etc. We loved everything and every second in this hotel. I believe it is even underrated!
I would put more chairs and comfy sofas in the balcony since there is space and it would be just perfect. Would recommend to renew coffee/tea in the room every day, it is not a big deal, but it is nice when u get up in the morning and u can make your own coffee and enjoy in the balcony.
I spent a very nice vacation at Swell Boutique. The hotel has a very good position, on the first line to the beach, you can hear the sea from the room. It is located very close to the old center. It is very clean, we thank the ladies Ofelia and Stefania for this. The breakfast is very rich and diversified with very good quality products. A plus is the freshly squeezed orange juice served at breakfast. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. We thank them for the beautiful and quiet vacation we spent in this hotel.
Breakfast was excellent. Situated opposite the beach. Room was very good
We were given a different room to what we booked. The room was superb as it was an upgrade but the room we had booked had sea view from the room which is what we wanted. The room we were given only had view from the balcony. Our taxi back to the airport was 8pm, we had to check out of room at 2pm. When we asked if we could have a room until 7.30 we were to,d it would cost €80 which we thought was way overpriced
Ι liked the location of the hotel in front of the beach and the marvellous view to the city of Rethymno from the balcony of our suite Nr. 53. The hotel is close to the old city of Rethymno. You can reach the old city on feet walking along the promenade or use a taxi until the port for 4-5 euros. Besides the hotel restaurant, there are other nearby restaurants.
I didn't like the quality of the morning coffee and the fact that they didn't not offer for breakfast cretan cheese, which is famous for its quality. On my request, the next morning, they offered only for us cretan cheese.
Good location, staff are friendly.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Room smelled very musty and old when we entered. Bathroom needed extra cleaning, rusty edges on mirrors and wall lamps, mould around edges of shower and limescale/erosion on shower and shower handles. Stains on the couch and tables. Rooms and hotel definitely need upgrading, it's not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast in the morning was fine.
Location, friendliness of staff. Modern and clean facilities
The hotel was clean, with modern decor. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and really helpful. The hotel is in a great location, a 15 min walk to Rethynmo old town, opposite the beach and with plenty of bars and restaurants within steps of the entrance. There was lots of parking around, although it was a bit of a fight to find a spot sometimes. Overall a great hotel, would recommend
No Negatives
Great location, very friendly and caring stuff, good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay there
Great hotel in front of the beach.Perfect position to walk to the old center of Rethymno. All the staff was exceptional from the reception to the restaurant, very professional and kind always with a smile. The food very good and the room with the sea view was lovely. We had a great time.Thank you
