Vecchio Hotel

Perfect location, spotlessly clean & great value for money. The staff were all so friendly, welcoming & helpful.

Lovely character, spacious clean rooms. Very comfortable bed. Loved the little extras of t bags and shower gel. Lovely owner. Tasty breakfast. Never seen such a clean pool. Beautiful surroundings. Great friendly staff. Brilliant facilities.

Noise at night, base music from a near by bar kept us awake for a long time.

The location is ideal and the building itself beautiful.

Breakfast was overrated I believe thus we didn't have any, common area was poor with little space for all guests, we stayed upstairs and had no balcony nor any chairs to sit at outside the room and there was no place to hand our wet towels and bathing suites. The pool gets little sun thus is cold and the place is too quite which makes it ideal for older people. Rooms were average with the "popular" rent-a-room furniture, bathroom and kitchen.

No close parking available. Suitcases had to be carried quite a distance.Breakfast was adequate rather than good. Poor coffee.

Location is superb and the pool an absolute delight on a hot day. Perfect oasis in the old town

No bar but there are loads around the corner so not a problem. Even though in the centre of the old town, its really quiet. Can be a bit tricky to locate but google got us there

The location is very convenient. Its a short walk from an inexpensive paid parking lot, a short distance from the port in the old town. Its near everything but also very quiet. Its very clean. The bed was quite comfortable and had four pillows on it. The A/C was quiet and worked well. Its a good value.

The room is dark because the building is hundreds of years old and has no windows to the outside. There is a window to the inner area outside the room with a table and chairs and a place to sit, however. The bathroom smelled bad and stank up the room, probably because of a very old plumbing trap. If you kept the bathroom door closed and left the bathroom fan on the smell would go away. The wifi was not steady and would drop.or had weak signal. It was pretty good if you used it in the area outside the room.

The hotel was nice and fairly quiet with helpful staff. There was no lift and steep stairs. The curtains were thin and central area lit all evening which meant it was very light in the room for sleeping. We also had trouble with the bathroom door locking us in the bathroom- be very careful with young children closing the doors - it was extremely hot in the bathroom- and very difficult yo open...

The hotel is in a fantastic location, in the middle of the old town, but still very quiet. The pool offers fantastic refreshment, with nice clear water at the right temperature. The breakfast is very delicious, with a large selection, fresh fruit and very good coffee on offer. The air conditioning system worked flawlessly. We would have liked to stay more nights in this cool place!

Hotel is located in a great spot in the center of the Old Town of Rethymno, with great prices on and off high season. The staff was very accommodating in every request.

Very nice hotel in the old town on Rethymno. The rooms are quite big and with AC. What we liked the most was the swimming pool in the center on the internal courtyard.

Locked away behind a great door is a little oasis in the midst of the chaos that is Rhethymno.Quiet,but social and well set out this beautiful place offers the opportunity to chill by the pool ,which is generally quiet,or relax in your cool room.The owners are extremely welcoming ,helpful and interactive in the true Cretan fashion.

The air conditioning worked but chilled only one portion of the room. We were there in a heat wave and were too hot in bed. I realise this might be just a temporary problem.

The Vecchio Hotel is a beautiful old building right in Rethymno Old town, the room was adequate without being too fussy. Breakfast was a typical Greek buffet style one.
