- Gorgeous brand new boutique hotel with perfect location in Rethymno. Wonderful clean and spacious room with a view of the sea and old town to the left, and marina to the right. Breakfast was fresh and different every day, and the hotel staff was very nice
- Pretty much everything. We loved our room and the location. The staff was amazing too!!!
- Excellent hotel. Staff greeted us with homemade lemonade and treats while they checked us in. The room was wonderful...great shower. In the morning, we had to leave early so staff met us with a packed breakfast on our way out. Great hotel and experience.
Cons -
- Nothing except maybe needed a few more breakfast options.
- They don't have a smart TV in the rooms.
- My room was right next to reception (which is 24 hours which is nice) but this means it shared a wall with the lobby where breakfast was provided. All night I heard noise from outside and would get woken up around 7-8 am as they were preparing for breakfast. It was unfortunate for the days I wanted to sleep in. Obviously this is only an issue for the room I was in.The fridge didn't appear to work. I had out drinks in the day i got there and as I pulled them out the day I left, they weren't cold at all. I forgot to mention this to the receptionist.

I booked the Savus boutique hotel because I was looking for a place to stay with my husband that was in the center of it all, and Savus did not disappoint. It appears to be a newer facility that is nicely furnished and has a modern and clean flair. The staff here is ready to accommodate your requests. They offer a nice breakfast spread in the morning, which is included in the stay. We loved the oversized balcony and were surprised to find a hot tub overlooking the water. Although we didn't end up using it. Close to many top-rated restaurants and within walking distance to the Old Town. We hadf dinner twice at the Adriatic restaurant right next door. I am particular about where I stay and would highly recommend Savus Boutique Hotel while in Rethymno.
They don't have a smart TV in the rooms.
The staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was delicious every day and they provided so many different options for breakfast. It's nice that breakfast was from 8 am - 11 am, so it wasn't too early and your odds of missing it by sleeping in are lower. To my surprise, they upgraded my room which was a really nice surprise! The bed was quite comfortable. The location is great. It's directly across from the beach and you can see so much of the Old Town area within 15 minutes or less of walking. Lots of amazing food places around. If you rented a car, you do have to park at the marina parking lot which is directly across the street from the hotel (go in, go around the loop and take the entrance to the parking lot on your right side, drive as far back as you can go before it gets more narrow). The downside is that you have to pay for the parking. Per 24 hours it was about 20 euros.

We liked everything! Fantastic view, staff was super friendly, private jacuzzi on terrace did it all! Very good breakfast, hotel is close to everything, parking is close by.
The only disappointment was our short stay! Next time will plan more carefully!
Good location, comfortable room
No parking at the hotel, although was not too hard to find a spot nearby
Super room. Spacious, modern facilities. Beautiful and tasteful. Perfect location for accessing the ferries in the morning, which was our plan. All of the hosts were wonderful, extremely helpful and accommodating. Because we had to leave very early we missed breakfast, but they offered to pack us one for the trip!
Really everything was lovely. We probably wouldn’t have chosen an harbor hotel for a longer stay, but for our needs it was perfect, and surprisingly quiet for being on the harbor! Beautiful in the early morning. We were given our boxed breakfast upon leaving and were looking forward to opening it on the ferry. The “breakfast“ offered was a bit underwhelming: one whole apple, with a very tiny slice of cheese in a very dry bread bun and a kiddy juice-box. We appreciated the offer but it could have been better, especially as it was meant to replace the breakfast we were paying for with our stay.
the property very generously upgraded us to a superiors suite which was very kind. the suite was very comfortable, had all the things we needed. we enjoyed ourselves very much. Dimitri (front desk) was excellent and had very good recommendations for us.
parking situation is tough, had to park at the port close by and pay for parking. guests should be aware of this
Very nice hotel! Clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast, very responsive administrators and manager. Thanks for the great room, also for the restaurant recommendation, it was great!
The hotel was newly refurbished very nicely. Our room was comfortable with a balcony with a sea view and a good shower. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, cooked freshly with a different choice everyday. The location was convenient, a short walk to the old town, harbour and beach.
Lovely modern hotel with excellent facilities, great shower, very good breakfast. Attentive and helpful staff, especially Dimitris .Great location, no parking but public parking nearby.Highly recommended !
We received such a warm welcome from the guy on reception - this was very notable to us in contrast to the way we were received at our previous accommodation, where we were treated in an abrupt manner. He was happy to advise us on parking options (the port parking across the road has 2 sections - payable which we started in, and free at the far side if you can find a space) and nothing was too much trouble to explain to us - really kind.We were also advised we had been upgraded to a suite on the 4th floor which was a huge room with a magnificent long sea facing window and matching extended balcony. There was in fact a jacuzzi at one end which wasn't working but no complaints as we hadn't paid for that extra! The room was very quiet - once the balcony door was shut there as no road noise and the aircon was also quiet (there was also a ceiling fan as an alternative option but that was noisy). It was 27C whilst we were staying for 2 nights, so we appreciated the aircon. Excellent rainfall style shower which we loved and didn't want to get out of! Comfy bed. Sofa at one end of the suite and a unit with tea/coffee making facilities (sachets provided) and fridge, plus full size wardrobe and slippers at the other end.Great breakfast for a small hotel - a buffet selection of quality breads, pastries and cakes, cheese and cold meats and salad, plus a varying selection of warm items, from sausages and bacon to french toast and a very tasty Greek onion filo pastry. Plus a different hot egg dish cooked to order each day - on our first day it was a fried egg on toast with fried onion, and on our second day it was scrambled egg with an avocado sauce?! We don't like avocado so asked for it without that and it then came with an asparagus spear on top, with the scrambled egg on a filo base - very nice.
The only thing that grated on us was the loud, "tinny" sounding piped music in the lift! Unnecessary. But the lift itself was very welcome, especially with our room on the 4th floor! Reception is on the 2nd floor and you can access the hotel via open air steps at the front leading up to the 2nd floor, or via the back door where the lift is.Note that the back door is on a narrow one-way single lane street, so you can only drop a bag off and one of you with it, and then the other person needs to drive the car elsewhere to park - you cannot stop there for more than a moment as you will block the road. But the port parking is close by, so we ended up carrying our bags from there. The closest port parking area directly across the road is actually free for the first 30 minutes and then I think 1.50 euros for the first hour, so best to go there initially and then move the car to the free area of port parking (the far side, closest to the beach) for long term parking.
The breakfast was great, with a tipical cretan touch. The room was perfect, the balcony was great, and the smell in the hotel it was something special. Everything was clean, the cleaning service was spotless. Also the front desk people were fantastic. For a Boutique Hotel, it is a great experience.
The only issue we had was with the noise. The hotel is located on the front strip, and even dough the windows are insulated, you could still hear the noise, especially from the scouters, that when on rambling all night. If you wanna go and relax, you should pick the off season, beacuse in august is very noisy.
We enjoyed eating a wonderful Breakfast on the 2nd floor patio, with a nice view over the harbour. Costas made checkin seamless, and we were fortunate to get a room upgrade. This property is only a couple minutes walk from the old town, is modern and staff are very helpful. We loved our stay at Savus Boutique Hotel.
No parking on site, but the marina lot is close by.
The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach, restaurants, and marina. The breakfast was delightful, with a variety of delicious options. Our room exceeded our expectations—clean, comfortable, and beautifully lit, creating a relaxing atmosphere. We were so impressed with our experience that we would absolutely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Rethymno.”
Location, high standard of accommodation, friendly staff
Excellent hotel in a good location. Lots of choice for breakfast. There was everything you could need in the rooms. Beautiful reception leading to a lovely seating area overlooking the marina. A special thank you to Demitri for his kindness and knowledge.

Stunning property and the suite was fantastic. With a gorgeous view of the harbour and old town the hotel is in a perfect location
It was unclear about how to make sure your room was cleaned/fresh towels provided.
We liked everything about this hotel! We got upgraded upon arrival which was a lovely surprise. The hotel is spotless, the staff is so attentive and helpful and the breakfast varies every day, with so much to choose from plus a different egg dish every day. The hotel staff helped us with the transfer from the airport and to book or call taxis whenever we needed them. The location is perfect as it’s just outside the old town and it’s so easy to get to both the old town and the beach. Our room was overlooking the port/onto the main road but we had no issues with the noise as the building is very well insulated.
