Pros +
- Lovely hotel in classical style building. Quiet and friendly staff.
- Very convenient location for our conference at the archaeological museum next door.
- The room is clean and okay. The building is beautiful. They offer free onsite secure parking in the back of the building which is quite nice.
Cons -
- The small gym needs new treadmills. I used them both. They are very old.
- The “amenities” were not as described. The “jacuzzi”is not heated and its freezing so it’s not usable at all (i think it’s only heated in winter and I wish it was more clear). The “gym” is a basement room with no A/C or vent, poor lighting, and just a few equipment thrown in, barely usable. The “sauna” is a one person setup that’s in a basement bathroom that you would need a staff to turn on. No bar/staff on the rooftop, we had to self-service to put cushions on the lounge chairs. Breakfast is disappointing. We had a change of plans and the staff showed zero interest in being flexible with our booking dates. When we checked out, we were told to pay for 2 waters from the mini bar, that we didn’t use at all. I was reading other bad comments and the owner’s responses are always something like ‘the customer was rude, and they used bad comments to blackmail the business to get freebies’. Hmmmm I wonder what they’ll say about me.
- Very limited hours for the use of the jacuzzi and the roof bar. Small crowded breakfast room (but it was possible to eat in the garden).Decor and furniture are quite outdated, but it makes sense for the overall style of the hotel

The building and the garden have a retrò charme that we liked. Big quiet room with a balcony.Huge gated parking. Rooftop jacuzzi. It's a nice walk to the center and the hotel is located just near a quiet beach

We arrived with a late flight, which was delayed (landed after 2:00AM).... and yet we didn't have any issues with the check-in - the taxi arranged by the hotel was waiting for us and the reception is 24/7 - great check in experience! I really liked the location - me and my wife love to walk into the city - the city centre was close to the hotel. Another great feature of the hotel was that they have a parking lot, which was great as we had a rental car. The building itself is a historical one, they kept the design into the hotel which added another good vibe to our experience. Breakfast was good especially if you sit outside into the lovely garden. The staff was helpful and friendly - Thank you!
Our room was on the 1st floor (ground level) and considering that the building is old, there is a lot of moisture accumulation and smell of mold - I would recommend the management to look into this as matter as I believe that this could be solved easily and eliminate any unpleasant guests experience (especially if someone has some allergies)
Amazing hotel! Can't recommend it highly enough. The building itself is beautiful (it's the old Britishy embassy), the location is perfect (walking distance to the center of Chania), the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the entire facility is super clean, and the breakfast spread was excellent.
Great location, comfy rooms, very friendly staff. Walking distance to the center through a waterfront path. Room was spacious, comfy bed and even better pillows
Charm, staff, view of Xania, nearby restaurants
The tradeoff for not being downtown is that one is not downtown. There is a bus and taxis are cheap
Fantastic breakfast, nice location
Teeny tiny bathroom
Fantastic location. Great staff. Amazing breakfast.
A little noisy, not too bad. Tiny shower, I mean tiny.Could not control the room temperature
Fabulous hotel, unique experience.Spotlessly clean everywhere. An oasis of calm and elegance in a city setting.Very friendly and helpful staff, will return.
The location is excellent. In a quiet suburb very close to the city center. Romantic spot near the sea.
The breakfast could have more choices.
comfortable bed. bath tub was welcome since pool was not heated and too cold at this time of the year
very small sauna, not advertised as extra. 10 euro charged for 30 minutes which in reality was 20...pool on roof top advertised as jacuzzi was not heated. unusable at this time of the year.
The location is marvelous, it has friendly and very helpful staff and was very clean.
Some of the Breakfast items were poorly prepared.
Comfortable, great breakfast, a touch of elegance, free parking.
professional, helpful staff. clean as can be. all the amenities. fantastic breakfast! omelets was superb. and everyone was truly nice. best hotel I stayed in while in Istanbul.
The original part of the building is really beautiful and each room is decorated with elegance and comfort. Excellent location.
Mostly it was fine - some of the staff could have been friendlier and a little more welcoming. Their policy for the jacuzzi is strange - only turned on for a few hours late morning and a few in early evening - not quite sure why. I had visions of all the guests standing in line all at once during these hours - very strange. The quality of the food in the breakfast buffet was good - however the hot dishes were cold.
The rooftop area is a very nice bonus …. The sheets and beds were very comfortable. Many common spaces for you to relax and lounge in.
That you had to get out of your car to come and go to open the parking gate. I can see on your way in for security but leaving should have a sensor in concrete to automatically open the gate.
Nice location, quiet, clean rooms.
The smell of sewers that is everywhere around the property especially in the rooms. Fully renovated hotel but the sewers haven’t been taken care of. Sometimes we couldn’t sleep the smell is strong. Talked to the receptionist about it but they pretended not knowing about it!!
The staff was very professional, ultra kind and helpful. The hotel is very beautiful and perfectly kept. One of the best stays ever, a special thanks to Mr. Kostas
