    • Located in the Old Town facing the port, you feel transported into a slice of Venice, Italy. The hotel is small enough to provide an intimate ambiance along with the beautiful design, style and service. We highly recommend!
    • This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Building was beautiful and completely renovated this year, honeymoon suite had a fantastic interior balcony overlooking the harbor. Staff was fantastic. Even the complimentary raki was fantastic.
    • This hotel is a true gem. I can, without hesitation, highly recommend it. It is a beautiful, historic, boutique hotel with exceptional care and thought given to every detail. The location is absolutely perfect in every way - You can easily walk everywhere around the harbor and old town right from the hotel, which is located directly on the Venetian Harbor. Old town is made up of cobblestone streets with restaurants and wonderful, diverse shops lining both sides of the walkways - it is just a picture and completely authentic! The breakfasts are divine :)! Each morning, you're started off with coffee/tea/cappucino, delicious fresh squeezed juice, and a three tiered offering of fresh pastries, smoothies, puddings and local specialty treats. Then, you order a full breakfast from a menu - omg, everything was delicious, fresh and made to order... what can I say, breakfast was just delicious! Rooms had plenty of storage and housekeeping keeps the hotel and rooms spotless. We had a room with a view of the harbor and loved it! But what made staying at this special, gem of a hotel was that every single person from the hotel was welcoming, sincerely friendly, warm, caring, and helpful in every way, every day, from the moment we arrived - even though we were traveling to Santorini for the second part of our trip, we honestly did not want to leave the Domus Renier! The concierges that greet you at the front desk were so friendly, thoughtful and helpful morning, noon and night. A big, huge call out to Romana (spelling?), who truly made our stay so magical, special, and unforgettable. Thank you again for being so wonderful and a big part of our memories of our time in Chania, Crete!I've run out of room :)!! You will love the Domus Renier, the Venetian harbor and exploring the old town and especially the welcoming, friendly, incredible people of Crete, who touched our hearts! We did not want to leave and neither will you. Enjoy and safe travels.

    Cons -

    • Nothing! We would, without hesitation, highly recommend staying at the Domus Renier! Tip: Have the hotel arrange transportation from and to the airport, airport taxi drivers are great but they all don't know how to get around old town chania...
    • The room is small.
    • Lack of parking both parking lot and street. Unable to drop off luggage directly at hotel

Beautiful hotel, from the lobby to the perfectly built rooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in everything. The breakfast was so good and overall vibes were very pleasant. The hot tub took our stay to another level! Thank you So much for making our vacation even more perfect!

The rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds and good quality bedding and towels. Love the shower especially the good water pressure. The patio with hot tub was very nice. It was nice having an iron and ironing board, Nespresso coffee maker and complimentary bottle of prosecco. The breakfast was excellent in the courtyard. Wish we could’ve had breakfast at the hotel all 3 mornings we stayed there. It was nice to be offered a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave hotel early in am. The service was outstanding. Everyone working in hotel was friendly and helpful. Very impressed with hotel.

Lack of parking both parking lot and street. Unable to drop off luggage directly at hotel

Excellent location and view, exceptional breakfast, I would highly recommend it. The staffs are very helpful and friendly, we had a wonderful time here.

The lighting in the room could be better.

    10LisaPosted on: 12-15-2024

The view from our suite is unforgettably stunning. Breakfast was great and service was attentive and genuine. We had really good restaurant recommendations and ideas of what to do in Chania during our short stay here. It will be hard to come back to Chania without staying at this hotel again!

Aircon didn’t work as expected on the first night. We found the place a little stuffy without it even in the winter, but this could be because we came from the tropics.

    10LynnePosted on: 11-11-2024

Perfect location right on the harbour front. It was lovely to wake up to that beautiful view of the sea and the Egyptian lighthouse. All the staff were exceptional but Ramona and George in particular were so helpful and couldn’t have taken better care of us - they made our stay. The breakfasts were also amazing. We would definitely stay there again.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but, being really picky, the bathroom in the standard suite was a little on the small side and we didn’t really use the little lounge area on the mezzanine level so that was wasted space for us in a room with quite a small footprint, although the lofted ceiling made it feel more spacious. Generally the hotel - an historic building - was beautifully designed and sympathetically renovated.

    10YutongPosted on: 10-27-2024

Everything’s perfect. Friendly staff, super beautiful and spacious room, and good location.

    10MelindaPosted on: 10-26-2024

Outstanding service with concierge, very professional, recommended wonderful restaurants and places to visit, accommodations very clean, comfortable, amazing breakfasts!

Our room was too close to a restaurant, would have lighting in room until around 2 am even with room darkening blinds. Noise was not a factor, sometimes cooking smells would waft up so could not really open windows, minor issues for us.

    10KurtPosted on: 10-25-2024

Our room had a spectacular view of the Venetian harbor. It is a beautiful restoration and update of an historic building.Everything was done in good taste. The bathroom spa tub and rain shower were excellent. The bed was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented.

    10VickyPosted on: 10-23-2024

It is a beautiful old building in a great part of the old town, the room was super clean and comfortable and the view over the old town was fantastic. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts at the hotel are excellent - it’s like a traditional English afternoon tea but at breakfast and the main courses were really lovely.
