Alcanea Boutique Hotel

We love the Alcanea. This was our second stay there and our only regret is that we were unable to have their fabulous breakfast on two days when we had to leave early. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and the hotel itself is perfectly situated at the end of the old harbor.

We loved everything about the property Ava and HelenaThe managers were friendly, warm, and so helpful with transportation, what to see, and gave us wonderful restaurant suggestions The hotel is in a historic building and the decorated beautifully Our superior room opened to a balcony with a beautiful view of the water and city. We received a menu for breakfast in a charming outdoor cafe which had quite a variety of items to select from. Everything we selected was great. Hope to return someday.

Location just off the main areas, in a quiet corner.Breakfast was excelkent. Staff very helpful.

Amazing breakfast and super accommodating staff! They helped us arrange (paid) transport from the airport, held our bags for us, and let us check in early.

Great location on the edge of the port which makes it easy to get to from the taxi stand. Beautiful old house and lovely little covered terrace outside from breakfast. Really the nicest place to stay and so happy that they accepted our small little dog! Was happy to have this escape from the otherwise v touristy Chania old town.

just be forewarned that there are stairs, so pack light.

This is such a cozy old historic building with all the updated amenities you need. You could not get a better location in Chania, it has everything, history, great breakfast included, a great little outdoor seating area under a shaded leafy pergola that allows you to be tucked away to people watch when you are done exploring. You are located at the end of the busy tourist walking area, so you feel so private in such a busy atmosphere. Also easy to drag your luggage to. The decor is so charming, just the touch of Greece you need without feeling like you are at your grandmas house. The windows that open up to the view are just the spot to take some amazing photos from your room! The shower is hot and feels great after a beach day! If you rent a car, there is free public parking a two minute walk away, a public beach less than a 10 minute walk away. The staff is exceptional, so friendly and professional. Take advantage of their recommendations, it will change your experience in Chania! Always cold water in your fridge. Always a wonderful clean room.

From the first moment I entered Alcanea hotel and was greeted by Eva, I felt welcome and happy. By far, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The building is gorgeous, and full of character. The bed is so comfortable, the rooms pristine and have lovely toiletries. Lots of extra touches like coffee in the room, robes and slippers. Thank you to Eva and the wonderful staff for making my stay so memorable. This is my 2nd time in Alcanea and I will be back again.

Beautiful room with a view of the lighthouse and the water. Comfy beds, delicious breakfast, centrally located. Room was large and light filled. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. Definitively a great place to stay in Chania.

The location is unbeatable and the breakfast was delightful. The staff is helpful and friendly and if you can get a sea-view room, it's a great place to stay.

We booked a room with a "Landmark view" but the only thing we could see from the window was the hotel patio--the hotel itself is in an old building, so I supposed that's the landmark they are referring to, but it felt a little misleading.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent, very close to the waterfront. Breakfast is very good and the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room had a balcony overlooking the harbour which was very enjoyable.
