    • The staff is very helpful, they tried to help us until our last minute in their hotel (Breakfast to go & Taxi at 4am)Nice room with a beautiful view.
    • Beautiful room, spacious and pretty. Beautiful location with a comfortable balcony
    • Wonderful location right in the Chania harbor area! Amazing views from our room and balcony as well as from the hotel's spacious rooftop (tables/chairs set up). We enjoyed relaxing in the sun with the views, above the hustle and bustle below. This place has one of the best views compared to other places you could stay around the harbor (nice size room balcony, location of rooftop). Centrally located, walkable to many interesting areas in Chania (pier/lighthouse walk at sunset, churches, Turkish area, restaurants, shopping etc). One of our favorite places to visit during our 2-week trip to Greece - combination of history, scenic views, size/feeling of town. Reception desk staff were great - very helpful in answering questions before our trip (via messaging on Booking.com) and during our stay. Loved the architecture of the room - wood beamed ceiling. Feels very Venetian with the room and harbor views but a cleaner, smaller version of Venice :)! Staff also very helpful in booking a taxi and helping us with luggage on the morning of our departure (taxi came to the back of the hotel, right by the water). Would have liked more days here!

    Cons -

    • A bit noisy at night
    • You only had one pillow, but I never asked for a second. I am sure if I needed more they would’ve given it to me.
    • No complaints

We had a wonderful stay and our room was spacious and had a wonderful view of the harbor. Love that we could open our windows and get the fresh air in our room. The staff were extremely helpful. If you do not like stairs, be careful what room you select. It is a beautiful old building with all the charm, but with all the modern amenities that you will need. Fantastic location.

You only had one pillow, but I never asked for a second. I am sure if I needed more they would’ve given it to me.

Unique 16th Century Venetian building! Close to the harbor. Very large room.

    No complaints

Lovely room beautiful decor. Bed very comfortable. Quiet despite location . Nice staff

Would’ve loved a kettle in my room to make tea

    Fabulous location & views!

The stairs ( we were on the 3rd floor) might be worth mentioning, there are no lifts and people could pack accordingly. Although my husband almost died carrying the bags up the Staff were excellent carrying the bags down.

Fabulous staff and the absolutely best location. The restaurant under the hotel was buzzing and served delicious food. Rooms were nicely presented.

If you' can't climb alot of stairs it shouldn't be your first choice. Otherwise fantastic hotel

Location and our room was exceptional, Anita (hotel manager?) and August (bellman?) were delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful!

The hotel is full of character in a great location. If you are lucky enough to have a room overlooking the harbour that is a bonus. I loved having my breakfast in their restaurant overlooking the bay.

I would have loved a kettle in my room.

The location is perfect, central to Old Town and overlooking the harbor. The staff(Efi and Augustin) were great, very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and personable. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was vast, varied, and delicious.

Nothing. The only thing people should be aware of is no elevator.

    10ShaunaPosted on: 10-27-2024

Perfect for a short stay in Chania. Views are amazing and we loved hearing the buzz downstairs. Staff very friendly too. Thank you!

    10JanicePosted on: 10-15-2024

Well located on the harbour with restaurants and shopping all around. Easy 10/15 minute walk from the bus station. Very helpful staff and great breakfast with lots of variety served in the hotel’s restaurant on the waterfront. Easy walking also to Nea Chora Beach for swimming.

Nothing to complain about. As mentioned by others, there are a lot of stairs to the higher floors but staff were happy to carry our luggage. Worth it for the great views.

Location of the hotel was amazing and the breakfast was superb. Staff were particularly helpful and helped us with arranging our visit to walk the gorge, they helped us to find the information for the buses, ferry and also arranged for a packed lunch and breakfast. We definitely come back here again.

The only downside we experienced was that the room was on the third floor and the steps were very steep. On the plus side it was very quiet and we didn't hear any street noise. Also the view was superb.

The Hotel is beautiful and full of charm, you'll feel like your staying in an Impressionist painting .The Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Location is superb and the views are absolutely stunning. My parents and I had an amazing time. Everything was easy and the hotel was very comfortable. I can't praise this hotel enough.

If they could introduce Tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms that would be good. An Elevator would have made an already excellent stay absolutely perfect.

Effie (spelling? sorry!) + Sophia were very kind in answering my questions with thoughtful answers + guidance. The breakfasts were very nice + unexpected! And a bonus that it all started so early int he morning. The woman i met who was cleaning staff was kind + considereate.I have been to Crete + Chania many times but this was this first staying your hotel. The main reason I decided to stay there was that i was leveling alone for the most part + wanted a place that i could always find when i got lost. i get lost a lot. I am now in Tres Ekklisies til mid October + then will be back into Chania for another week before heading back to the U.S. wishing i had made arraignments to stay at the Amphora, but others where made. Hope to be planning another extended stay next fall.

Really, nothing to complain about...... P.S. the bottom says I'm from Japan. Don't know how that got there... I"m visiting from the U.S.

The staff in particular Effie were excellent. We spent five nights and didn’t have to get a bus or taxi anywhere. Great spot!!

    9JuliaPosted on: 9-27-2024

You could not want a better location for breakfast than the restaurant overlooking the harbour and lighthouse. The food was buffet style with plenty of choices and as much as you wanted. Excellent.

This place is a lovely old historic building. I would not change anything.

    9elpananachoPosted on: 9-12-2024

Nice location. Great restaurant. Very well preserved old building. Nice staff. Cleaning ladies were really hard workers.

No isolation from bathroom. It's just a glass sliding door which gives no privacy.

    10AprilPosted on: 9-2-2024

Super comfortable, clean, spacious room. Complementary wine on arrival. “Augustino” was awesome. Great greeting us at arrival on a busy Sat. evening n helping w bags n parking. Super friendly. This was the last leg of long journeys for us so we were pretty brain dead LOL. Augustino was invaluable in planning our car travels for days excursions around your lovely island. He was happy to share the culture. Will definitely return here

Not a criticism…however other guests need to be aware: hotel is in old town so no vehicle parking there which translates to a long walk with your stuff. Plus many many stairs on the property which has various levels. Just wanting to advise any elderly or infirmed guests it would be a challenge.
