Athina Airport Hotel

Great hotel for a tennis afficionado. Nice pool.

Very dark blue lighting scheme throughout. Artificial turf used as carpet in rooms. Bathrooms and towels not clean. Hotel should not charge for the shuttle to the airport. ?12 each way for a 4 minute ride is a ripoff.

The proximity to the airport

The pool was under maintenance (in August) and the cleanliness was not as good as expected. The bed mattress pad was too large making it difficult on the one side to sleep. We thought there was a free airport shuttle, then we were told there was not.

We chose the hotel for its close proximity to the airport. That was good, otherwise the location was in the middle of nowhere, and hard to find.

The atmosphere of the hotel was like a gym or sport center…which it was. Could have been more aesthetic. The surrounding outside areas were dry . If we return to Thessaloniki we will chose another hotel.

Just the location, which was convenient since it closed to the airport.

It needs to be cleaned, the restroom is full of mold and the room full of dust.

It was close to the airport. The shuttle early in the morning was on time and relatively inexpensive. Good value for the money.

I was surprised it was not a hotel but a room within a tennis academy...so few of the normal amenities of a hotel.

Dark ambient lighting, fake grass all over the floors hallways (they wanted to recall the tennis business which that they are into, but didn't give that calming and relaxing atmosphere that a hotel should have), poor room lighting, there was not a single bottle of water in my room (tap water not for consumption) and upon calling the front desk, the receptionist told me that I could down down to pick some up.

Breakfast was a very expensive one and low in quality. Gym was not available during the morning. Staff did not speak English. The hotel was expensive.

Restaurant food didn't taste.Hotel room wasn't clean over all.I expected more for the money we paid.

Location

This is a motel, not a hotel. Rooms are located in the basement and very uncomfortable beds, not recommended to anyone.

Close to the airport

The room, especially bathroom was filthy, we found hairs, dust and old dirt ang grime all around the bathtub. I tried taking pictures but the blue LED lights in the bathroom made it impossible to get the details. The AC remote was missing so we could not adjust it other than pushing on the fan blade a bit so it didnt directly hit us while sleeping. In the end we were super cold and could not sleep well.Staff barely says hello or goodbye, didn’t even ask about our stay when we checked out. We exchanged maximum 10 words total.The hotel room is old and tired and just does not feel clean or nice.

Perfect for a good night's sleep. Booked this for a short night stay next to the airport. Everything was clean, personnel was helpful, kind and considerate, recommended.

I think it's nice to have the shuttle airport-hotel and viceversa, however you have to double check the availability for the time. Indeed, we asked to have the shuttle in the morning at 7:30, but it was not possible until the eighth. It was ok for us, but in theory I should be able to decide the time because I'm paying for the service. Moreover, the kitchen is open until 11 p.m. but don't have high expectations either for the food or the service (the driver who picked us at the airport was the same that was serving us at the "restaurant" a few minutes later).

Overall, the room was dirty and there was a strong smell of smoke, indeed when we went to the bathroom we found ash inside the toilet. Furthermore, the toilet flush wasn't working properly. the price is not worth it at all. Very disappointed.

Sound insolation could be better

It was clean and very comfortable. Close to airport as well. I had been camping so the bed felt luxurious. It would have even if I hadn't camp camping. I loved the scents of their soaps in bathroom. Room had a mini fridge as well.

They charged for an airport connection on booking. No stores or amenities within walking distance.

I like the bed and the large room...

I did not liked the breakfast at all for 12 euro was nothing, also bugs in my bathroom... ok to us not so many but to my friends was full.

Facilities location decoration and staff

Door couldn't lock, was damaged. Room across was lazy and drunk men. Pillows were too thick and hard.

Proximity to airport

Room smelled mildewy. Some of the electric sockets didn’t work. Tv didn’t work.

It was possible to order transport from the airport at night (for 12€), staff was very kind, especially breakfast bartender.Towels and bedding were clean. The air conditioner was working.

Stained dirty walls in my room, wallpaper peeling off in places, mold in the corners of the bath, shower partially broken, hair of previous guests on the mattress, cobwebs under the beds. The door handle of the room was partially broken. It would be necessary to pay more attention to cleanliness. The price was disproportionately high for such an untidy room.

The taxi cost way much for distance to airport

The hotel is good but the location is terrible although it's so close by the airport, in a poor location looks more like an industrial area than anything else. It's less than two miles from the airport but the cab costs €12 probably because you need to take two buses and it's impossible to walk to the airport there's no sidewalk apart from that. That's all
