    Pros +

    • Very friendly and informative welcome, not far to town for dinner at restaurant. Nice room, comfortable bed, good bathroom, small toilet. Enjoyed the pool in the evening and morning.
    • Location. Surprisingly quiet, even on the weekend. Comfortable bed.
    • The property was Unique being in a cave.

    Cons -

    • I read reviews about the small rooms but I was still surprised just how small it was.
    • The room I stayed in looked very tiered and over due a refit. No ajr conditioning and no fans for the room ( we asked ) the room was uncomfortable warm.
    • We liked everything. Our only regret is that we booked only one night, and had to move on to our next destination in Amboise.

Excellent breakfast, great location. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Swimming pool a bonus.

The property is extremely charming - we had a suite with a kitchen and superb living room. We also had a washer and dryer, which enabled us to wash all our dirty laundry. The swimming pool, inside a cave, was magnificent. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We liked everything. Our only regret is that we booked only one night, and had to move on to our next destination in Amboise.

Has a cave pool. Cute set up. It was a unique experience. Doors had issues locking, and there have been some things broken. One thing that was gross was mouse droppings we saw by the room that hs no lock and had equipment. That room should be locked, and pests need to be taken are of.

Strange and unusual rooms in a cave carved into a cliff. Breakfast in the room was an option which was nice. Also a swimming pool in a cave!

The heated grotto pool is fantastic. The service was excellent, the staff, the property, the room all were just wonderful. It was a lovely place to stay and I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone staying on this part of France. It was a lovely and fascinating place to stay with some rooms cut into the stone.

Would have been great to have a kettle tea and coffee in the room

Breakfast not included in the price we paid

A swim in a cavern! Grapes from the house vine for breakfast! Bats flying about in the dusk above the terrace! And a comfortable modern hotel indoors. I note there was wheelchair access to my room. The cool location on the north side of a cliff would be a bonus in very hot weather.

The bike racks in the cave were of the sort that bends ones front wheel. But plenty of walls to lean the bike on instead.

Well-appointed and the owner is absolutely wonderful! The pool was so refreshing. A fan was provided to help with the heat wave and it was nice and cool in the evening. The breakfast was exceptional.

Very friendly welcome, informative and great dinner recommendation.great breakfast and lovely wine and rum on the terrace in the evening.quirky place to stay, highly recommend!

not much really, stupidly we let the kids have the big bed upstairs, so my wife and I were on the smaller bed down stairs. which did dip in the middle a bit

Great location, great staff, very relaxing

Corner bath with shower attachment. Enclosed shower would have been better or at least a shower curtain and high level shower attachment but this was our only very small issue.

Second time we stayed here. We were lucky enough to stay in a cave room. It was very special and the staff were wonderful. Lovely breakfast , overlooking the Loire valley. Exceptional experience.

Unique character and great location. Friendly and efficient service.

A beautiful unique property. Lovely to swim in the cave pool. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff.

    10HorstPosted on: 7-25-2024

We had the room in the cave. 2 stories. Something truly unique for trying it once (there is higher humidity in such a cave as you can't get the air exchanged easily). Super helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast (local products). Nice restaurant nearby (recommended by the hotel's manager).

    9JohannaPosted on: 7-18-2024

Clean and beautifully ambient rooms incorporated into pre-existing ancient caves. Yannicke a very hospitable host who showed us our room and the pool and was obviously very invested in this property. The cave pool was such a lovely novelty to make the stay even more special. In the morning a reasonably priced delicious buffet breakfast with many local/organic products which set us up for the morning!

    Would recommend this property!

Troglodyte poolLovely great region Friendly and welcoming staff

Lack of privacy in the bathroom due to flimsy lace curtains

    9WendyPosted on: 6-22-2024

The staff, the breakfast, the rooms, the location, the pool, the facilities & the parking.

Not better, as impossible to change but if you have a wide vehicle, the entrance to the property is narrow & the spiral staircases are challenging. Ask for a downstairs room if of a nervous disposition!
