Logis Hotel La Croix Blanche Fontevraud

The square in front of the hotel is like the set of a movie. The mairie, the gate to the abbaye, the beautiful hotel itself. Our room was spacious and decorated in purple.

Enjoyed our stay and the dining, although the rather limited menu may not have tempted us 2 nights running. Excellent service from the young waiter at dinner and the receptionist on duty when we checked out. Location fantastic for Abbey and the charming little town.

Friendly staff, unhurried and restful vibe. Comfortable room. Excellent central location (couldn't be better) very good restaurant.

The wifi was very poor.

We love staying in old coaching inns whether in the UK or in Europe. La Croix Blanche hits the spot. It’s ideal for a full day’s visit to Fontevraud Abbey and art museum.

hotel restaurant was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful, I also appreciated the secure parking for my motorcycle however it probably would have been safe out in the street such was the vibe of the town

Breakfast seemed very basic for price- continental only; rooms were tired and very humid . Would have been nice to have some heat .

Location, parking, restaurant, swimming pool and closeness to Fontevraud L’Abbaye. Also the buzzy square where you could sit and soak in the atmosphere. Very helpful and pleasant staff particularly the reception.

This hotel is situated right next to Fontevraud Abbey so was very convenient for our visit to the town. Dinner in the restaurant was good, as was breakfast the next morning.

Beautiful location and staff were welcoming and friendly. They even took time to call me to check regarding accessible parking for my husband. Hotel is beautiful with so much character and history. Rooms are spacious and well designed although needing a little TLC in places.

Breakfast options were limited and an option for some hot food would have been welcomed. We arrived after 8pm with no option to get a coffee so it would have been useful to have at least a kettle in the room. We tried the attached restaurant but could not be seated for just coffee but luckily a lovely member of staff was able to get us a hot drink which was much appreciated.

The staff were great. Someone rang us the morning before we arrived to ask if we wanted to book dinner that night (which I would recommend). They also informed us that it was the final night this summer for the light show at the abbey and I'm glad we did not miss that. And they opened the pool area for us 15 minutes early so we could enjoy a swim before check out.

If you're cycling, be aware that it's a bit hilly between Montsoreau and Fontevraud!

I love the location of the hotel, and the village where it iis placed.The bed was very confortable and we rest a lot. Nice food (in the restaurant)

Quiet but convenient location. Peaceful and shaded courtyard. Friendly staff.

It is a charming hotel right opposite Fontevraud Abbey and near Saumur. Although in the centre there was free parking for guests at the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

No safe box in the room

Smelly drains, slim offering at breakfast,expensive for what was available

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was delicious and the waiters very courteous!

Top sheet and towels very scratchy.

The position was good

Far too expensive for what it offers. Too many narrow stairs when carrying cases. No air conditioning. Restaurant serves awful food. I left it all. I could go on. Also avoid the Boulangerie next door. 7 euros for a roll with 2 tiny pieces of chicken. To summarise; Its all about money, not quality. Grab grab grab.
