Pros +
- we have total 4 room 3 room no hot water and this winter so u shower with cold water
- Breakfast was basic but good. Staff was friendly but not super helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable but got pretty hot at night. Very 1970s Swiss but not in a bad way. Important to note that it is walking distance to everything but I’d take a shuttle from/to the train station with luggage. The views were incredible.
- Location, price is decent, staff is kind, view facing the valley
Cons -
- old hotel but big room and not give free tea and not available for boiler water / hot water kettle
- A battery under the bed showing cleaning was not ok. Cold water only and taps not working in the shower of the sauna. bathroom not super clean (traces on the mirror).
- Facilities are outdated, shower is lukewarm (not hot), no kettle in the room

Location and south view is nice. Breakfast was totally ok though nothing fancy with very friendly staff. Room was large with balcony. Bathroom was renovated and had all the basic products needed as well as nice towels and robes. Bed was comfortable as was pillows and duvet. Staff very friendly.
The hotel is clearly not renovated for a long time but rather patched where needed. Room is pretty dated but with a newer carpet. Seems like they have done urgent renovations but left anything else for the future. The sauna was operating between 17-19, Hamam was broken. Gym equipement is very very old. An older lady runs the place with a firm hand, scaring both guests and staff. I would not rate this hotel 4 stars in Switerland by any means. A 3 star in Zermatt holds much higher standards.
The location of the hotel is stunning.
We felt as if we were visiting our least popular very old aunt, who didn't want us to visit her ,with her team of helpers. No lights were on in the hotel, nor in the beautiful bar, restaurant and public beautiful rooms. The old aunt only wanted to activate the sauna from 5 pm, which in most cases was forgotten by the staff. The staff was sitting in the salon in the dark, and behind the reception they only had the light of the computer screen. The breakfast was horrible, and one of us got food poisoning by the eggs being served at the breakfast.
Old style hotel, but unfortunately mostly 'old'The view of the mountains is beautiful
Hotel badly needs investment, it was in pretty poor shape.Breakfast was very poorBeds mediocreLift too small & slow
Clean, great view, well managed
Outstanding breakfast, excellent cheese and other local products, fresh made omelettes and breakfast room with beautiful view. Personnel extremely helpful and friendly.Beautiful location on the hill and a minute walk to the centreEasy parking
a bit outdated but I like that style
Location
Premises and rooms pretty aged, in need of modernization. Booked a double room for single occupancy. We showed up together and had to pay CHF 65 extra even though I booked the double room. Way too expensive.
View from the huge balcony was amazingAmazing central locationHelpful and accommodating staff - takeaway breakfast bag was made up for us
Staff was generally very friendly and responsive. Had a great deal on the New years Eve, and we ate in-house with a fantastic buffet
... the hotel has a lot of potential but is unfortunately run down.
Unfortunately only the view and even that was ruined by the lack of attention, care, maintenance of this place. This place has everything to excel but from minute 1, the experience was really poor.
We paid for a 4* Hotel. We were received by a kitchen person that his first question was, what is your room number? No services were presented, no breakfast timings, nul. Basically no reception serviceWe got to the room around 16:50 when you can have a really beautiful sunset but we were received by a hot room (something that could easily be fixed by the fresh air of the mountains) but the balcony was dirty and not even cleaned-up from the snow. Not even a chair or table was clean/available for us to sit. We booked a room to enjoy the sunset and the mountain views but could only do it from the inside ???Most services were closed - Bar, Wellness (plus smell badly). We asked at the reception if the bar would be open and/or the wellness and the responses were really unprofessional/almost mocking - ...It depends if there is anyone here...???The door to access the ski local could only be from the inside and we could not even use the door downstairs to go directly out, we needed to carry the heavy skis through the reception ???The hotel path was icy (which I understand) but the lights were off all the time, which was super dangerous for us to walk because it was pitch dark ??? I can only wonder how many guests might get hurt if this is a rule.I'm an Hospitality Graduate by education and was a concierge for a number of years and what was supposed to be a nice weekend to celebrate friends bday in the mountains 4h30 away from home, turned into an expensive flop. This place does not deserve in its' current exploitation status 2*INCREDIBLY POOR EXPERIENCE. I gave it a 4 with the hope, this place can feel that there is hope but they only deserve a 0-1 rating.Antonio Magalhaes
Property is in great location. It is a landmark location in the center of montana with a unique, unbeatable view. Staff is great and very nice.
Hotel needs care and renovation. A very historic hotel is abandoned by the management… urgent action is needed to preserve it and show its glory. It is sad that no extra care is given.
Great breakfast. Good price.
Hotel is old
The room was very spacious, with a big terrace and bathroom. The bed was comfy and the view from the balcony is amazing.
The hotel felt outdated and was a bit run down. There was no light around it at night and when we arrived we were not sure if the place was open. There was hardly any staff around and it felt like the hotel was operated on the minimum.
The view was beautiful and the bed super comfortable!
The only thing 4-star in this hotel was the price of the room. In our first room the tap in the sink didn’t work, so we were switched to another, smaller room for the same price. That room wasn’t really clean (several cigarette stumps in the balcony, dusty surfaces and things on the floor which made it seem it wasn’t vacuumed) and the next morning we realised we didn’t have any warm water to shower. When we mentioned all this upon check-out (were only booked there for a night), it seemed the staff didn’t really understand english and didn’t do anything about. Instead told us we still had to pay the city-tax of 3.- each
good value for money, central location yet quiet , good breakfast, very friendly staff
slightly dated decoration but it’s comfy
Good view of the mountains.
The snow on the way to the hotel was not cleared, and not light in the road
great room with an exceptional view
access path to hotel needs light
